Not necessarily. Ravager is good and all, but it's still a VN at heart. Some people are looking for something different. Something that is actually a game. Ravager is largely a set-piece adventure you're not going to replay a lot. Defiler Wings and its progeny are more free-form.
And there are very few other 'dragon sim with porn elements' games in existence. To my knowledge, Redscale's Adventure is the only one that might count, unless there's a hidden Japanese gem somewhere. And that one is basically in eternal beta ATM. You could also count the 'furries and the kitchen sink' stuff like Portals of Phereon, but these are very diluted.
Original art is a personal preference. Honestly, I've had comments that people would play my mod even with zero art. I'm not quite at that point myself, but Ravager's art isn't the biggest draw to me, the 'dragon sim' elements and storytelling are.
My mod is also still getting updated, albeit slowly.
Basically, this boils down to the eternal 'VN or sandbox' debate in adult gaming. A majority wants VNs, even if they don't admit it outright, and Ravager is the better choice for that. But that's not everybody.
