(Open to New Players) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Samua nodded. "Ah, right. I'll make sure to avoid them. I'd rather we met on peaceful terms. If it came to blows then that poor mob would probably be eradicated by my forces, and that would send a poor message to the mayor. I'd rather they went home." he hummed. "Again, use my rafts to your liking. If you'd like, I can have some guards go with you to the halfway point so you can enjoy some protection. I wouldn't want my wives to be in danger!" he chuckled.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya nods. "Might not be a bad idea. We were nearly ambushed by the legendary hamster. We barely got away. Sadly it's curse confused our senses and we ended up back here. Using the rafts to circumvent it could help though for certain. What do you think, girls?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"I suppose using a raft may make the road easier, if nothing else." Talia shrugged. "Though I've never used one, so having someone who knows how to work the damn thing would help. We can probably handle a number of threats by ourselves, at least." She mused. "As for the mob, I think they'll go back once they tire themselves out. I mean, they can't be stupid enough to just keep running around until they drop, right?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Samua nodded, giving a gesture, calling forth a troop of 2 male and 2 female armed lizardfolk to march past the group and board a large raft, as each of them took corners of the sturdy looking raft, so as to protect them from the alligators and other such monsters that lurk the dark swamp waters.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia boarded the raft, following the intructions of the lizardfolk if they had any. Now it was just a matter of waiting until they got back to the other shore and managed to get an audience with the mayor. And convince her to actually negotiate with the lizard chieftain. She had a feeling this would be merely the start of their troubles, though.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Kat boarded the raft as well, sitting closer to the center to stay away from the water, and any potential fall or splash that would get the muck in her fur. It'd be damn near impossible to clean out!

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

And so, the raft departed with the two girls, and the others able to join last minute if they hurried. Otherwise it was just Talia and Kat now, as they went over the water, towards the town. They'd be let off at the halfway point, and towards safety. The rest of the trip was safe and sound as they'd find the town once again. A villager spotted them, announcing to the town that they had returned. The town quickly became noisy, talks and mostly hopes that they came with news that the lizards were dead, but many if not most were worried about their missing loved ones or neighbors and friends family.

"Enough! Give them some room to enter without being suffocated." The mayor announced, seemingly having more push around the town for once. "I want to hear everything, but not here. Let's talk over a private table without an entire peanut gallery." she said quickly, eager to hear some news as well as she went towards her manor.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Vylyra was almost late to the party since she was busy tracking alternate routes for their raft to go. But seeing as how the departure was in such a big hurry, she had to delay such plans and just trust that fate wouldn't screw them over in the end. Not that it seemed to mind fucking with them from time to time. She just hoped they'd be merciful for a change. Thankfully the trip was undaunting and rather free of danger and even after the escort left it was rather smooth sailing. But they'd arrive at the village to much noise and this sent a pang of unease through her body. These people wouldn't be happy to hear of what they'd done over the past couple days or their plans either. But at least the mayor seemed wise enough to seperate them from the crowd in order to talk to them in private. It would mean they'd have some flexibility in explaining the situation.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"That might be a good idea." Talia agreed with the mayor, quickly following her. The number of townsfolk wanting the lizards dead was more than a little concerning in her opinion. Given how little control the young woman seemed to have over the population, the bloodthirsty mob from earlier being proof of it, dealing with that lot could end up being the hardest part. Though it seemed that her authority had increased a little during the group's absence. Maybe. They'd have to wait until they had some privacy before explaining everything.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya kept quiet as she observed the lizardfolk and the surroundings, adding scenery notes to her book. Once inside Laya squeaks and squirmed out amidst them before following the Mayor with a sigh.

"Excellent idea. This will be a long talk after all."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

The girls followed the mayor into her estate, where she had them gather around a large table, shooing the maids and any potential listeners away. Then, she sat down, inviting the others to do the same. "So... How did it go? You didn't return with anyone, so I have to imagine at some point you hit a bump in the road. Tell me what's going on."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Perception:

"Well, whether to call it a bump or not depends on how you see this." Talia sighed after looking around to check if there was anybody listening in after the mayor ushered the bystanders away. "We've found the lizardfolk village all right, along with the townsfolk. The problem is that a battle against the former could very easily turn into a battle against the latter, given that from what we've seen they are leaving the town and staying there willingly. The fact that at least some of your people seem willing to kill them all - like that mob we've seen earlier wandering the swamp - makes us wary of what might happen if we tried to bring them back by force either way."

The sorceress paused briefly as she considered what to say next. "Another thing is that while I have no idea what sort of leadership the lizardfolk used to have before, their current chieftain appears to be an honest and quite moral person, if a tad overly boisterous. He wants to negotiate with you to create an alliance between the town and the tribe, or at the very least an enviroment that leads to lack of aggression between the two sides. Apparently even your hostility towards him, which he mentioned once or twice, doesn't deter him from pursuing such a goal." The tiefling shrugged.

"There is one matter that could be a bit of a complication, as he is related to a group called the Unchained. They're a problem, given that they seem to be connected to a demon, but fortunately our cleric discovered a way to fix this issue by cutting said link and restoring his chain to it's proper condition." Talia continued to explain, showing her own chain tattoo to the mayor to let her see what she was talking about. "If we did that, we could actually gain a powerful ally in future fights against corruption that might threaten civilization. If we are to end this mess without bloodshed that could claim the lives of the townsfolk living among the lizardkin, however, we require your cooperation. If you decided to try and form an accord with him, we could not only fix everything, but even leave this region strengthened against future troubles."

Persuasion:

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya took a seat, looking over at Talia before looking back.

"We'll be around to make sure there's no foul play, but ultimately his forces dramatically outnumber us and he isn't actively seeking to hurt anyone. He's not even full lizardfolk and just wants to get along. You're the leader right? You said you want morals? Your best bet to instantiate some is to negotiate and come to a compromise, with us acting as mediators. Because as things are, you've got people running off, and frankly your towns, well... Education levels and moral levels are tanking."

"That being said... I'd like to look into that and make sure that's normal around here and there's no third party group cursing or riling people up here. The leader of the demonic forces seems to almost want humans and lizardfolk to start fighting. It's hard to say why exactly, I can only guess. So ensuring they aren't making everyone here dumber and needlessly combative will have to be done too."

"In any case, that's how things stand. You've three options. You can relocate your town elsewhere. Fighting won't end well, you're fighting your own people and it will likely play into the overplot of the Unchained. Or you can go to the table and work with another leader to a mutual acceptable result. Nobody said being leader is easy or enjoyable. But this way at least you can place some restrictions and morals on what's going on rather than slowly bleeding people away to them instead. There'll be those who oppose, and they can move elsewhere I'm sure. But you can make something of it. Samua is ambitious, and if you're willing to bend you can be more than a mayor and you can likely make them more than simply tribals in a swamp. If you're willing to put the time and work toghether you two could likely make them a civilisation of note, and they could make your town safer and stronger. There's worse than them in the swamp. Like the Legendary Hamster. We spotted it out in the swamp."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

The Mayor didn't seem too convinced at first, before she heard Laya also follow up with the apparent need to negotiate. "... If their forces are greater than mine, I guess there's no true helping it. Plus, there are a lot of folk who do support the idea, but they are silent because of the angry mob. So they are all you hear. Even still..." she shuddered. "That big green thing wants to put his big green thing into me! And I swear he's possessed by some kind of magic because he was almost bloody successful! A good thing you all weren't bewitched by that... Ding dong of his." she shuddered. "Damn it, I don't want to, I really don't want to, but I have to negotiate don't I? If I can just convince him to let the families return, then I can quell the rioting... What an awful situation..."

She sighed. "Fine..." she said, putting her elbows on the table and hiding her face in her hands. "I'll go talk to that giant sex symbol. I know he's gonna try to fuck me though... Ugh..."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"I'm not sure that was magic. I didn't notice any on him or any of them.," says Laya, "And yeah, he does. I'll talk to him about that though at least. I can double check though. We'll make it a rule of the negotiations. No seducing during talks."

She taps a finger on her cheek. "Or you can wear a blindfold. Either way. I think we should do this on neutral ground, set something up on the half way point. If need be, I can take the hit. He can only fuck one person at a time really. But I think he'll listen to a discussion."

She smiled and moved beside the mayor and rested a hand on her shoulder. "I mean, worse comes to worse though, you're still you. You clearly know what it takes to be a good leader. And maybe you can hammer into him what it takes too with our help. Hell, if you suggest that your main aversion is that power if any that he has, maybe he'll work at it. I'll give a more through investigation to be sure it's not just some sort of natural raw sex appeal or something though. He can be a little thick at times, but I've seen him bow to a strong woman before. I think if this goes well, we can make something that will make a fine legend."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Well, that's cool." She said with a sigh. "I'll need to meet him away from the village. If you can, tell him I'll meet him at that halfway point our villages always used to meet. Make sure to bring all the missing villagers so I know they're safe." she said. "I want to return with them to show that I'm making progress." she said.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Sure, makes sense. When should we meet?," asks Laya

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Tomorrow, if at all possible."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"We'll deliver the message, then." Talia nodded, thankful for Laya's help. For someone who insisted on letting others decide things, she had incredible charisma. Bit of a waste, really, given how much of an ability to convince people she had. "He'll agree to your terms, I'm sure. Still, it's best to keep this a secret from the rioters. Otherwise they may attempt to crash the meeting."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Weiss intently listened to the two women that tried convincing the mayor to make peace with the lizardfolk. Although, she wanted nothing but peace, the two of them seemed to be leaving certain details out, details Weiss felt the mayor should know about. Weiss cleared her throat before she spoke up. ''Assuring her the chieftain won’t seduce her might make her feel more confident, but I think we should tell her the truth. The chieftain’s mission is to seduce you and make you into his wife, and as long as he worships his mistress, I don’t think we can persuade him to go against her orders. I felt like I had to warn you about his intentions, so you won’t be suddenly caught off-guard by his attempt of seducing you.'' Weiss warned the mayor.

''Besides, as long as he’s unchained, I cannot advice you to make peace. Even if his intentions are pure, and he truly strives for peace, his mistress doesn’t. Eventually, she’ll force him to either give up his clan, or to forcibly take you as his wife. So even if you manage to make peace with him, in the end I only can see a dire outcome.'' Weiss explained to the woman. ''However, I might’ve a solution. As my friend mentioned, I’ve perhaps found a way to chain him again, but the bad thing is it involves one to make love with the other, and impose their will upon them. When I did that with intention of purifying him, my chains almost managed to chain him, but in the end I lost concentration and failed.'' Weiss said with a disappointed sigh. ''If my companions agree with it, I might’ve a plan to purify the chieftain. When the chieftain asks you to be his wife, you’ll give him a trial. The trial will involve him enduring your champions’ erotic assault. Tell him it’s the only way for him to prove he’d be fit for you. Of course, we will be your champions, and our intentions will be to purify him. If we all work together, I’m convinced we can purify him.''
