(Open to New Players) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"And we ju~ust purified this place." Kat added as she leaned back against Samua's leg from where she was sitting at the water's edge.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

With the girl not saying much, Samua let her be. "Well, let's get washed up and be on our way." he said, cupping a large amount of water in his hands and letting it flow slowly over Laya and then Kat, giving them a shower almost. Then he'd wash up as well, before heading out of the water, to his tent to get dressed in a loin cloth before heading to the meeting point to wait for the mayor.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia shrugged. If the new arrival chose to simply stand around and say nothing, she had no reason to waste more time here. With the cleanup done, she went off to go with Samua, a thought occuring to her as they walked. "Ah, damn. I really hope we won'tl have to round up those scattered villagers. You think they'll be able to navigate back to town?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"If they were such a large group, I feel they'll be fine." Samua said. "Besides, not much to do about them anyways. They'd either continue their crusade or attack before they decide themselves when to go home."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Purified it? Really, now, do you expect me to believe that? Please, go on and tell me the method you used, i'd love to hear. I mean, the gods themselves have been having trouble curing nature, but you... Well, you just did with ease, right?" She mouths, off the fire in her hand sputtering out, her hand instead used to push against her hip in annoyance. "And I apologize for my odd behavior." She adds not too long after, straightening her armor. "That th- You're friend simply caught me off guard, I assumed it was one of those corrupted beasts you hear about these days... I can see now that he's well spoken..."

"Well, regardless, my name i- Hey, where are you going?" She shouts after the lizard thing and one of the woman, seemingly walking off while she was speaking. "Uh, rude..." She mutters to herself, gazing towards the others. "My name is Shelandra. I wasn't joking about the explanation, I want to know how you purified this place."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"I mean the ones who were in the village. And ran off when this shit happened." Talia made a gesture with her hand, showing the changes in nature. "And if you want to talk, you can make your way here and walk with us. Because this is a story that will take a while and we have a job to do here." The tielfing shouted into the distance, back at the unknown woman. "Long story short, there was demonic influence involved in the local tribe, we rooted it out, and then all this happened. Maybe if you had went for the source instead of the symptoms, you'd have had better luck."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Samua pat his clawed hand on Talia's head. "Now-now, no need to be overly critical, we're all friends here." he said. The strangely friendly lizard man seemed highly friendly, opposite his aggressive appearance. "Should we tell her how purification works though? I'd think not..." he hummed.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Nah." Talia snorted in amusement, smirking. "Let her figure that out on her own. And fine, I'll try to be nicer." She added with a slight eye-roll.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"But I need to study this, the things that still need to be determined well..." The Half Elf stood there for a moment, watching the group continuing to walk away, a sigh leaving her lips. "For the Goddess, I suppose..." She followed those that were walking away, her rapier having been sheathed earlier. "I haven't been here for long, I had only just encountered the marshes disappearing. I would have loved to investigate further, but I apparently don't have to. So, you wouldn't mind giving me a more detailed explanation, since it's... sort of my job to do this."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"We could give an...indepth explanation tonight if you came along with us!" Kat chuckled a bit to herself, now clean as she got back out of the water. "But first we got an important meeting to get to."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Kat, that's a bt much, don't you think? She seems to still be getting over the shock of seeing the land purified in any way." The ranger said with a good laugh before she focused her attention on the newcomer since se seemed so interested in this as the Ranger was. "First, let me introduce myself. Vylyra Colgwyn. Ranger at your service. I'm surprised another Chained is investigating on her own. I tried to do that myself nd it...well didn't end the way I liked. But still, glad to have someone else on the team interested in the effect the corruption has on the land and not just the people. We're always welcome to have another hand."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

"Talia Belderiver." The tiefling introduced herself with a shrug. "As for what happened here, the brief story is that a demon convinced Samua here to follow her and spread her influence among her tribe. They had an altar and all that, even. That being said, despite his best intents at keeping things peaceful, his tribe ended up having a bit of a quarrel with the nearest town, so we got sent in to straighten this out. Upon finding out that Samua is a descendant of a hero who was turned into one of the Unchained, we decided to fix the situation by re-binding his chain, which seems to have effectively banished demonic influence from this land. Which seems to have lead to this."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya was more focused on washing up and relaxing than all the chaos with the new girl. Still, it seemed this wasn't going to be just a one off thing. A new entrant to the story perhaps?

"Laya. Just a humble bard, recording these girls and Samua's story. Don't pay me any mind, I just need a bath and a break after the ritual."

She stretched a bit with a yawn as she slipped into her gear once they were done, nodding in approval as she looked Samua over. "Hm, not bad. We'll want to make sure you're imposing without being overly threatening so this will do."

Walking along, she hummed and wrote in her book a fair bit, before tucking it away and took out her lute, starting to strum on it a bit as she went. "Hm... You know, we need to give you a proper title, Samua, something snappy that sticks. Chief Samua isn't bad but we could probably gussy it up some more maybe... Some appellations maybe or a higher title perhaps. King would imply a kingdom and warlord would imply war, so maybe something like... Hm. Maybe Sachem? I think that's an sort of overchief amidst the more tribal nations. It's exotic, might work."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Samua seemed surprised at the suggestion of a title, and even thought about it for a while. "Sure, I don't mind if you call me that. I'm more of a Majordomo though~" he chuckled.

Then the girls talked while walking, all the way to the meeting point, where Samua stood in wait, looking anxious. "This is a bit nerve wracking. I wonder how she'll take my new appearance?" he inquired.

Then, the woman herself slowly came into view, her head lowered, and her body motions suggesting she was avoiding eye contact... Until she got within 30 meters of Samua, raised her head, and started simply screaming. Shocked, Samua started screaming too. After a bit of a scream-off, the mayor rose her hand. "W-who is this? The new leader!?"

"No, it's still me." Samua replied.

"Yeah, but... You're..."

"I know. I'm not cursed anymore so I lost my looks." he explained.

"All the village people suddenly returned, the populace is under the impression you were killed."

Samua chuckled. "Nope, just got purified. You know how it goes."

"No, I don't." The mayor said hesitantly. "So... I guess we won't be attacking you anymore."

Samua hummed. "Yes... That's all well and good. But can we possibly restore the peace between our two groups once again? I've been trying to for a while now..."

The mayor thought about it. "I don't see why not, as long as all the kidnappings have stopped. Even though 90% of them obviously weren't kidnappings..."

"I see, wonderful! How about becoming my wife!" Samua cheered.

"I'm glad we could establish peace." The mayor turned around and walked away. Hurriedly.

"Aw..." Samua whimpered.

[Samua's Charisma] The mayor sighed. "... I'll at least consider it. Be on your best behavior, okay?" she asked. And Samua gave an acknowledgement and a cheer as she walked off.

"She's going to consider it! Whoopee!" Samua cheered.

[Mission Complete, Level 3 reached. You may all level up to level 3 now.]

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya looks at Samua bemusedly. "You know that means head slave right? Majordomo is a term for the slave who runs the household for their master. So no, I'm pretty sure you are not that."

When they both started screaming, Laya shrugged then screamed too until they stopped. "I didn't want to feel left out."

Negotiations went very smoothly afterwards, as Laya grinned and hugged the big lizard. "See? Told you you can do it. But this is just the first step. You've got a lot of work to do from here! You're up for it, right? Huh, I feel more magical for some reason..."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Talia watched the screaming match with a bemused expression, only to groan and facepalm as it ended. Fuck's sake, what was up with that mayor? Hell, what was up with Samua to join her like that? Wait, nevermind. She did not want to know. Still, at least the rest of the negotiations - brief as they were - didn't take long. Soon the sorceress found herself breathing a sigh of relief as everything ended well. Well, hopefully. A whole lot of returning people would be in for some awkward conversations at home - or a lot of running and dodging.

As she watched the mayor leave, the sorceress pondered the recent events, including the ritual she helped perform. Running the memory through her mind again, particularly the images of magic at work, she couldn't help but feel one of those rare flashes of inspiration that occured whenever she reached a breakthrough with her magic. As if the powers of her heritage opened up to her a bit more. Immediately new ideas came to her, ideas on how to twist her spells for a bit of extra effect... As well as potential to take them to a new level.

"All's well that ends well." Talia shrugged, glancing around. "I think this worked out nicely. Peace is back, nature's doing much better, and you've got a whole realm of possibility still open to you." She nodded at Samua. "We may end up having to go soon. It's likely there's more trouble brewing that we'll have to deal with. Especially if more Unchained are running around. Still, I'm glad to know there's at least one person here we can trust to do the right thing."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Shelandra stared flatly ahead at the trio of screaming people, backing away slightly, looking uncomfortable. "I hope all of you are departing shortly..."

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Samua chuckled. "I was planning on using it to try and make peace, but I don't need such useless things anymore. So, I want you to have some treasures I gathered because other races seem to like them. It's also got some magical thingies and a potion in there. Enjoy!" he said, before allowing them access to the chest in his hut for them to take at their leisure.

(No travel required, treat it as if you already got it, and split this reward amongst yourselves.)

Treasure said:
2300 cp, 1100 sp, 80 gp, 4 x Chalcedony (50 gp), Chrysoprase (50 gp), Citrine (50 gp), 2 x Jasper (50 gp), 2 x Sardonyx (50 gp), Spell Scroll (Light), Spell Scroll (Grease), Potion of Healing

"I'll be going back now. I need to get ready to trade once more. Hopefully things will go better this time! And I have a date with the mayor!" he said, before heading to return to his camp.

The girls then felt that, when they wanted to proceed with their quest, returning to the teleport would be the best course of action, sans Shelandra, who just got here.

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Kat played with her choker as they came up to the chest. It was nice to get rewarded for helping! But well, she couldn't help but look at all the gems and wonder what they'd do with them. She really didn't have any idea what they were worth, but money she knew what that was worth! "Laya, you know how to sell things right? You probably best to sell gems. Split it all between us evenly like last time?" The girl said as she went to get her bag so they could store all the stuff. "Though uhh, wonder where will raise lizards. Maybe back in home village? Or should we wait here till then?"

Re: (Open) Dungeons and Depravity: Revenge of the Unchained

Laya gave Samua a hug, nodding with a smile. "Thank you. I'll visit often as I can. I wish I could stay longer but we need to keep working, to ensure that others can get the same chance you have. Good luck, I'll keep an ear out for how things are going. Don't give up, alright? You can make your people part of this, and make humanity learn too."

She sniffled a bit when he left, but swiftly composed herself. "*ahem.* Hm? Right, yes. I'm on it! Gems are easy, we just sell them and divide the gold. I guess we should make our way back to the Seer. Help me with the chest, Kat."

Struggling it back to the teleporter circle, she pondered a bit. "Assuming we're still pregnant after the curse was broken, which we may not be, I don't see why we couldn't raise them at the elven village. They accepted all us halfbreeds and what not before after all."
