Selfish tend to make adaptation in 2 episode (with the exception of lilitale taking 4), usually the 2nd episode get out 1 - 2 weeks after the first.

While I'll won't comment on the content of the movie and how peoples likes / dislike it, I'll remember you that there is NO way they could put everthing in the game in the movie, neither can they put the full extent of any route / event. It would make for dozens of episodes, as well as serial series of episode for the different route / ending.

In short, they had to make some choice on what they'll put in the anime from the game. And it's sure as hell won't please everyone.
I'll personally wait until I've seen the full anime (both episode since only n°1 is released) to make a final judgement.

But whats the point of adaptions in the first place? I can totally understand why making an anime of a light novel or manga creates a new perspective of the source material. But it is so pointless in this case, or for example the Persona 5 Anime. The games just look so much more beutiful than the crappy animation and have a way bigger amount of details. The animations are just cheap little summeries of the stories, that sometimes are way uglier and doesn´t add anything. The only explanation I can imagine is advertisement and money.

Still, I can't remember if the dev asked the fan translation to be stopped because he was working / intended an official one or if it was a case of "don't mod my work you damn westerner pirate !"...

And yeah, rune was a good game that deserve a translation...

Just a head up to say that dlsite put up estimated date for the rest of the movie version - 4 episode

Ep 2 scheduled for this month
Ep 3 for March
Ep 4 for April.

At least they will have some opportunity to covert a good part of the game with 4 ep, but It will really depend on which route they chose.

As far as the anime adaptation goes, they had to chose a route among all the possibilities in the game. They choose one (probably the easiest one to write or the one they though would sell better). Whether someone like it or not, it's a question of taste.

As for the translation, the one making a fan translation was asked by the dev to stop (at V1.71). From what he let slip it seem that at the time he understood the dev was working / planning (?) a man made official translation. Still, that was november 17... no official new in that time so It's probably done for (unless a surprise release planned for a special occassion ?). One shouldn't count on it (unless another fan finish the existing one in secret and share it before the dev goes wild).

Thats why I said would be nice someone translate that last patch, because its obvious the dev wont do it. They are focusing in their new game, so I doubt they will focus back in Rune. It been more than a year of waiting after all.

So I have alway wondered - are these actually any good? Does it have enough non h-scenes to make it a proper story? Or is just one sex scene followed by another?

Well, we only got 1 ep out of the 4 announced available so far so it's hard to say. In the first, you could see the story between the H scene, but I can't tell how it'll go afterward.
Knowing selfish adaptation, I wouldn't get my hope too high.
You can get story in the anime, but you won't watch it for the story.

Selfish is rather a big circle if you look at the number of release. Probably just some delay.
The DVD version of some previous work just got release on getchu for exemple, so they're still kicking.
I haven't try to found info about the delay to be honest, so I dunno if they communicated on it

The only info I have is a promo page on maniax, it hasn't been updated.

The circle has no webpage that I can find, the dlsite blog only have post to say "we just released that", no announce of incoming work on dlsite or getchu, you can try your luck on their twitter. But not speaking japanese I don't have the courage to get through all this sh*t using google translation :

Where can i get the 2 remaining item? I've only done virgin ending and therefore haven't seen any of the H-scene (except self breast-milking and working as bunny girl) if those 2 items somehow only obtainable through them. I also have crafted and bought everything at least once. EDIT: got last equipment (rune bracelet) from sleeping with Mei's on her 1st quest.

The game play footages reminds me a lot of MaiDenSnow Eve though with much more interaction with the setting of the game. Based on my interpretation of the game's story through Google Translate, the main character Jeanne is a knight who was escorting Princess Lily before her capture. Our main objective is, of course, rescue Princess Lily. From what was planned, we could attempt to take on the last dugeon from the start of the game (BotW anyone?). Depending on Jeanne's action throughout the game, Lily herself could get into trouble as well.

I look forward to this game's development!
