Yeah but even that's iffy, it's how I lost twice. If she keeps sending Gyarados after you, you'll be stuck defending and won't be able to keep your health up.

You can actually stunlock her by casting a spell that the Gyarados is weak to, then spamming physical attacks, I know it works on the final color of Gyarados, dunno about the first two. I spammed the grass spell till that point too. I'd test it more, but since my save has already beaten her, kinda difficult. That's when my health was low/no cloth repair left anyways.

DEFENDING against the gyarados is how you lose that fight.

found the new version 0.06 but the save doesnt work no save pw was ever given so i lost all progress GREAAAAAAAT

SPOILER ALERT regardind an ingame quest, some might want to find the clue themselves so u have been warned if thats the case.In order to progress after everyone has gathered up in the lobby u have to find some pills that are laying on the ground right outside the 1st tunnel of Ivy's (in the beach zone where squirtles spawn)It took me some time to find it myself.
