this is a full translation of the game 'The Little Brave' by "Osanagokoro no Kimi ni" I felt inspired to work on translating another game after working on 'The Sleeping Beauty' by the same company.

Please keep the original version of the game so you can re-apply the patch as new updates are released.

This is for version 1.3, the last released version of the game, but it should work equally well on all versions of the game

Status of translation: 100% complete

Version 1.3
I have a number of people comment that they only had version 1.1 and have not updated the version 1.3. The developers no longer host the updates of the game.
I have attached the untranslated data files for version 1.3. To use these
- decrypt your game using RPGDecrypter or similar
- download the attachment The Little Brave Ver1.3 - Data.zip
- put it in your game installation folder and unzip
- apply the patch AFTER doing this.

NOTE:
There is an issue where an exchange was not translated. Thanks to imnotapervert this has been fixed. He edited the game to apply my translation. This is a bit of a workaround as the patch now added a pre-translated map file. To fix this you must of decrypted the game.

After applying the patch there will be a small file Data.zip in the game folder.
Unzip this, and replace any files when asked. You can then delete this file Data.zip. The untranslated string will now be translated

Thanks for your hard work on both Osanagokoro games you have translated
just wanted you to know it's very much appreciated.

one game he did "zombie island" I really wanted to get into as I think it
was some of his best work, however the moonrunes made it very difficult to
understand what had to be done in the game....shame

anyway thanks again and looking forward to updates.

Visit their website, they have posted an at least partial english version of that game, see the update for 8/26 where they link a multilingual version

a) first decrypt the game using your choice of decrypter for RPG Maker games like RPGDecripter. Delete the .rgss2a file after decrypting

As a quick note: This step should not be necessary. RPGMaker Trans handles RGSS archives just fine - if it doesn't, please file a bug report so I can sort it out!

Another small update

- fixed a few typos
- translated the dialogues with the Peddler in Viviana's Inn
- translated initial dialogue with Viviana and her husband
- translated a bit more for Olivia
- some end game text for Karin and other small dialogues


Note: some of the initial dialogues with Karin remain, notably the sex bits, but one bit will not translate for some reason

Another update, the game is about 75% translated with this, only events in 'Common Events' remain

Mostly just filling in translations, no definite 'blocks' or sections done this time but

- most of Karin's dialogues are done, including initial sex scene
- assorted scenes or text here and there

Just a note, I was working on some of the scenes for the monsters, notably the Cat monster.

Her dialogue is really hard to translate, as it has a lot of nya's inserted into the text making it quite difficult for translators to handle the text. I do not just mean at the end but often with a nya replacing a similar sound in another word.

Similarly the Tengu has Kyaa's in her text making it hard as well

The Cow Ogre is no problems, she has no affectations like that, nor does the Mountain God.

EDIT:
Tengu and Cow Ogre are completely done, some of the Cat too, quite a bit remains for the Mountain God
Tenhu was quite easy in the end she just had a 'Kyaa-ha' prefix but did not weave it in like the Cat does

Update

- completed all scenes for Viviana (Inn lady)
- completed all scenes for monsters, Cat, Cow and Tengu. Some are close approximations than accurate translations
- all endings are complete

Previously all scenes for Karin ('sister' from the village) were completed

Remaining are scenes for Olivia (Widow) and Rita (Prostitute), their endings are complete or close to. Some sex scenes remain
Maybe half of the Mountain God is complete


NOTE:
there is still an unresolved bug in RPG Maker Trans (or maybe my files) so a couple of individual dialogues do not appear translated, notable an early one for each of Karin and Olivia

Almost finished (no update for the translation posted since the last)

Olivia is completed

Rita is close, maybe 10 sentences

Mountain God has maybe 30-50 left

Nothing else remains except for play-testing for clarity and text overflows

So it should be a few days to a week for it to be completed

A query anyone

The Mountain God is a spirit fox of some sort (image attached, note no tail), and she has a speech affectation. In many of her speeches she prefixes them with

カッカッカッ

Possibly this is meant as some sort of laugh, but from context it is not clear. Many of the other characters giggle/laugh in amusement at the young hero of the game.

This sound is not familiar to me like the 'nya' of cats and similar. Is it a 'fox' sound? Translators either translate as
Crispy (which makes no sense here)
or phonetically as
kakkakkak
Sometimes if you translate the entire sentence it is translated as 'Crazy', and in some cases this does make sense.

An example
山神「カッカッカッ、そんなに死ぬのはいやか？
　　　・・・ならば、残りの対価は
　　　お主の精気でいただくとしようかの。
　　　さあ、我を満足させてみせい」

Anyone know what is a good english translation for this. Temporarily I am just putting in
Hmmm, or in one case as Fool
but it is easy to locate and replace if a better term is suggested.

Never played the game so I'm not sure but is the mountain god evil? I would think "カッカッカッ" is along the lines of an evil, villainous laugh like *bwahahaha*, and then whatever the rest of the sentence is. I would attempt to translate that example but I don't know what the scene is about so I'd just be guessing. Anyway hope that helps.

I would not say she is evil, more uncaring and otherwise discusses about how payment for services is the nature of the world etc.

I will review the cases of the text and see how a villanour laugh works (I am not really sure)

Otherwise, I have now translated 100% of the game, also a very quick translate of the readme file as well.

I need to do some tests for quality/typos/clarity but it is really close, probably will post this weekend.

she's literally going 'Kakaka' which, I think is more like the 'kekeke'

From what /I/ understand Kekeke came about as a shorthand for kerakera, which is the japanese onomatopoeia for laughing. So whatever you decide.

That said, I played briefly earlier and found that there's a line just before the very first H-scene with the sister (If you climb out the window) that's untranslated. Will report anymore as I play through the game.
