Malacet waves her hands and chants, conjuring another globe of energy that bursts into flames as she points it at the farthest bandit of the group on the ground.

Granth casts his eyes up to the top of the watchtower and the man there, And now it's party time. He says letting the build up of electricty in his arm lance out at the man.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Hoping to be of use before half the group charged in, Tod quickly chanted his spell, looking at who he chose to affect and making them all faster.

(Cast haste on Aramil, Trex, Bolm, Holi, Carella and Malacet)

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Hits the first enemy she sees with her fists using only the back of her hand, she really felt that there was little point in killing these bandits... but if the party really wanted it... (non-lethal damage)

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Tods quickly chants a spell, and the rest of the group begins to move much quicker.

1d20+12+2+1 = 2+12+2+1 = 17 vs DC15 = hit
1d10+6+1d6 = 5+6+5 = 16 damage

Holi rushes at the nearest bandit, one wielding an axe, and slashes at him with his waraxe, the burning blade cutting through his armor and his flesh like butter. The man stumbles, but doesn't fall.

1d20+7 = 4+7 = 11 vs DC17 = miss
1d20+7 = 6+7 = 13 vs DC17 = miss
1d20+6 = 8+6 = 14 vs DC17 = miss
1d20+6 = 15+6 = 21 vs DC17 = hit
1d20+7 = 19+7 = 26 vs DC17 = critical hit
1d20+7 = 16+7 = 23 vs DC15 = hit
1d20+5 = 2+5 = 7 vs DC16 = miss
1d20+5 = 9+5 = 14 vs DC16 = miss
1d20+5 = 12+5 = 17 vs DC16 = hit
1d20+5 = 2+5 = 7 vs DC16 = miss
1d8+2 = 5+2 = 7 damage
1d8+3 = 6+3 = 9x2 = 18 damage
1d10+1 = 5+1 = 6 damage
1d6+2 = 5+2 = 7-1 = 6 damage

The bandits attack Holi, hoping to kill the dwarf before he can be aided by the rest of the party, but they get more than they bargained for. The axes bounce off his armor harmlessly, and he dodges out of the way of one of the spear wielders. The other spear wielder does manage to give him a wound through his armor, and the leader proves his skill with his sword when he stabs under Holis left arm, finding a seam in his armor. The man with the crossbow fires at Tod, hitting him in the shoulder. Another group of bandits appears from the woods on other side of the road, holding short bows. They fire a volley at Carella and Malacet, Carella quickly avoiding both shots while Malacet dodges one and is hit by another on her right thigh.

1d20+14+2+1 = 15+14+2+1 = 32 vs DC18 = hit
1d8+4+2 = 2+4+2 = 8 damage

Trex charges in to deal with the leader, his slash gives the man a cut across his left cheek.

1d20+9+1 = 8+9+1 = 18 vs DC15 = hit
2d6+4 = 3+3+4 = 10 non-lethal damage

Carella rushes into the group of archers and backhands one of them. He falls to his side, but quickly stands and drops his bow, and putting his hand on the hilt of a short sword at his belt. One of the closer archers does the same.

(Assuming you're using Brimstone again.)
1d20+7+1 = 19+7+1 = 27 vs DC12
3d6 = 1+5+3 = 9 damage
1d20+3 = 2+3 = 5 vs DC21 = fail

Malacets blast hits one of the men with spears in the shoulder and lights him on fire. He screeches, and starts patting himself, trying to put out the flame.

1d20+11+1 = 19+11+1 = 31 vs DC15 = critical hit
1d20+10+1 = 5+10+1 = 16 vs DC15 = hit
1d6+3 = 6+3 = 9x2 = 18 damage
1d6+3 = 5+3 = 8 damage

Aramil draws his swords and rushes into the fray. He goes after the axe wielder not wounded by Holi, his short sword darting in and stabbing the man in the belly, while his scimitar slashes across the mans throat. The bandit isn't dead quite yet, however.

2d8+9+2 = 3+4+9+2 = 18 hp regained

Bolm, rather than rush into the fray, walks in and chants a healing spell on Holi. His wounds close.

1d20+9 = 14+9 = 23 vs DC18 = success

Granth prepares to blast the man in the tower with a lightning bolt, but just as it completes, he hears a chant his spell fizzles out. He turns to the source, and along with the archers a woman in a green robe has appeared.

(Granth got counter-spelled. Holi has taken 7 damage after being healed, Mlacet 6, Tod 6, the rest of the party is unharmed. Bandit 1 has taken 16 damage, bandit 2 has taken 24, bandit 3 has taken 9 and is on fire, bandit 4 is unharmed, bandit leader has taken 8 damage, bandit 5 is unharmed, archer 1 has taken 10 non-lethal damage, archers 2, 3, and 4 are unharmed, as is bandit wizard.)

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Blasted wizards. Still, they can't do a perfect counter unless they know what I'm casting and have a similar spell ready, so... heh. Granth thinks, before he starts muttering. Soon a new charge of electricity has built up in his right hand which then starts to surge forth at the other caster.

(Scorching Ray with metamagic feat Energy Substitution (Electricity) applied to deal electricity damage instead of fire.)

((Sorry, if I mention fire then yes, I'm using Brimstone))

Malacet grunts as the bolt peirces her leg, then turns towards the new group, chanting and weaing out a different spell, conjuring a globe of darkness to cover the archers that aren't being beaten up by Carella, leaving the wizard to Granth for now.

Tod hisses as he's hit in the shoulder, pulling the bolt out and casting a spell to help prevent further injury like that.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

(No concentration check since the damage was taken last round.)
Tods spell grants him a magical boost to his defenses.

1d20+14+1 = 14+14+1 = 29 vs DC15 = hit
1d20+9+1 = 3+9+1 = 14 vs DC15 = miss
1d20+14+1 = 4+14+1 = 19 vs DC15 = hit
1d10+8+1d6 = 10+8+3 = 21 damage
1d10+8+1d6 = 1+8+5 = 14 damage

Holis raging attack cleaves the bandit cleanly in half, his axes fire searing both halfs of the body closed. The backswing hits the burning bandit wielding the spear on the leg. His second swing, meant to decapitate the man, misses the falling body. The man is somehow still alive, but he won't be for very long.

B2: 1d20+7 = 20+7 = 27 vs DC17 = critical hit

7d6 = 5+2+3+2+2+1+5 = 20-1 = 19 damage

7d6 = 6+4+5+6+3+2+1 = 27/2 = 14 damage
7d6 = 2+5+6+2+2+1+1 = 19/2 = 10 damage

The other axe wielding bandit, seeing his comrade cleaved in half, rushes and attacks Holi, hitting him in the shoulder, crushing bone, but the axe doesn't get through his armor to sever the limb, and his thick dwarven bones prevent his arm from becoming useless. Trex gets slashed by the bandit leader on his left arm near the wrist, the sword cutting deep into his arm. The flaming spear wielder drops and rolls, putting out the flames but not before getting burned further. The other bandit with a spear pokes futily at Holi. Two of the archers fire another volley at Malacet while the other two go after Carella with their short swords, but both archers miss cleanly and Carella dodges their attacks easily. The wizard chants a spell, dropping a fireball in between the melee and the group of Tod, Granth, and Malacet. Tod rushes out of the way, but Malacet and Granth take the full force of the flames. Holi, Trex, Aramil, and Bolm all see it coming and minimize the amount of damage they take, and the bandit leader and the spear wielder manage to jump aside as well. The axe wielder and the bandit who had just put out the flames covering himself aren't so lucky, the fire consuming them both, killing them.

1d20+14+1 = 16+14+1 = 31 vs DC16 = hit
1d20+14+1 = 1+14+1 = automatic failure
1d20+9+1 = 13+9+1 = 23 vs DC16 = hit
1d8+4+2 = 8+4+2 = 14 damage
1d8+4+2 = 5+4+2 = 11 damage

Trex goes after the bandit leader, attacking with three vicious overhead chops as he recovers from the fire, the first cutting into his shoulder, the second and third blocked by his shield, but the 3rd blow breaks his shield arm.

1d20+9+1 = 16+9+1 = 26 vs DC15 = hit
1d20+9+1 = 13+9+1 = 23 vs DC15 = hit
2d6+4 = 1+2+4 = 7 non-lethal damage
2d6+4 = 3+5+4 = 12 non-lethal damage

Carella continues attacking the bandit, punching him in the face and kicking him in the groin. After the repeated attacks, he seems like he's about to collapse.

Malacet summons a globe of darkness on the archers, they shout confusedly from inside the globe.

1d20+11+1 = 20+11+1 = critical hit
1d20+6+1 = 14+6+1 = 21 vs DC16 = hit
1d20+10+1 = 16+10+1 = 27 vs DC16 = hit
1d20+5+1 = 13+5+1 = 19 vs DC16 = hit
1d6+3 = 6+3 = 9x2 = 18 damage
1d6+3 = 3+3 = 6 damage
1d6+2 = 2+2 = 4 damage
1d6+2 = 4+2 = 6 damage

Aramil rises from the flames and immediately goes after the bandit leader, slashing repeatedly, one cut taking his throat as he turns to defend himself, literally cutting him to pieces.

Bolm turns on the wizard, knowing another fireball could kill one of the members of the group, and prepares to counter any spell he might attempt to cast.

1d20+4+1 = 2+4+1 = 7 vs DC12 = miss

Granth retaliates against the wizard, firing a ray of lightning at him, but his aim is off and the wizard is unharmed.

(This post took me an hour to go through, and I lost my d8 somewhere while doing it. =[ )
(B5 unharmed, B4 at 14 damage. A1 at 29 non-lethal, A2, A3, A4, and Wizard unharmed. Tod has taken 19 damage total, Malacet 25, Granth 26, Holi 48 total, and Carella's unharmed.)

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Tod grasps his body where it was burned, taking a moment to recover before glaring at the mage, a ball of acid forming in his hands as he chanted, then firing off like an arrow at the wizard.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

Malacet is engulfed by the fireball, and as it dissipates she shrugs off the burning remnants of her cloak and robes, the companions getting their first real look at her.

Her skin is a subdued grayish colour, almost an ash grey, and her hair is a bright red, flowing in lazy curls down to just past her shoulders, kept out of her face by a pair of small horns that keep her pangs parted to either side. She has a slim figure, accented by generous curves in the chest and rear areas, as well as her armour and underclothes, which with the exception of her new chain shirt, fit her body snugly. She has delicate facial features, long-fingered hands. Her eyes have red irises, with flecks of green running through them, seeming to change places when viewed from different angles.

Her face shows shock, then anger, directed solely at the mage who hit her. Slowly at first, then faster, she chanted and swirled her arms, conjuring a larger orb this time. It glows bright white and radiates a great amount of heat, leaving an afterimage on the vision of anyone who watches it as she sends it streaking at the offending caster, herself grimacing from her wounds and the strain.

"Could use... Some healing... Over here..." She forces out through clenched teeth.

((Hellfire blast, extra 2d6, and I take 1 point of CON damage. I was going to wait until next level to get some fire resistance before going around looking for fireballs, ah well. Also, I'm fully expecting an interrogation from the good characters after this, as she looks like the pits of hell spawned her, placing her assumed alignment somewhere around sexy evil ;) ))

Gaaahhh! YOU BLOODY FUCKER! Granth shouts in pain, scorched by the fire and roasted by the flame. Muttering a few words, Granth punches his right fist out, unleashing a surging bolt of unstable mana which splits into three missiles all hurtling towards the wizard.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

1d20+7+1 = 8+7+1 = 16 vs DC12 = hit
2d4 = 2+2 = 4 damage
Lasts for 3 rounds

Tod throws a bolt of acid at the mage, hitting her in the belly.

1d20+14+1 = 7+14+1 = 22 vs DC15 = hit
1d20+14+1 = 3+14+1 = 18 vs DC15 = hit
1d20+9+1 = 9+9+1 = 19 vs DC15 = hit
1d10+8+1d6 = 1+8+3 = 12 damage
1d10+8+1d6 = 9+8+4 = 21 damage
1d10+8+1d6 = 2+8+6 = 16 damage

Holi, enraged by the fireball, rises and goes after the man still reeling from the explosion, hitting him three times in quick succession, the first strike cutting through his belly, causing his guts to spill out on the road, the second slash cutting off his left arm, and the third blow ripping through his neck and nearly severing his head. He's dead before he hits the ground.

1d20+6 = 8+6 = 14 vs DC22 = miss
1d20+6 = 19+6 = 25 vs DC22 = critical hit
1d20+5 = 6+5 = 11 vs DC20 = miss
1d20+5 = 8+5 = 13 vs DC20 = miss
1d20+7 = 16+7 = 23 vs DC17 = hit
1d20+12 = 19+12 = 31 vs DC18 = success
1d6+2 = 2+2 = 4x2 = 8 damage
1d10+1 = 1+1 = 2 damage

The bandit archers attacking Carella once again go after her with their short swords, the beaten one missing by a mile, but the uninjured one manages to land a good stab in her side. The other two archers come out of the globe of darkness, and the first thing they see is Malacets clearly inhuman form. Both of them shout, and raise their bows and fire at her, but their aim is off, and their shots go wide. The wizard prepares another fireball, hoping to finish off the party members already injured, but Bolm is ready with dispelling magic, and as she points to the group, nothing happens. The man on the tower fires at Holi, thinking the crazed dwarf is more of a danger than the demonic figure, his bolt grazes injured Holis shoulder, doing little real harm but causing a good amount of pain.

Trex walks calmly toward the rest of the group, and plants a hand on Malacets shoulder and nods to her as he passes her, healing her wounds.
(Healed 16 hp, putting you at 9 damage)

1d20+5 = 12+5 = 17 vs DC12 = success
1d20+5 = 12+5 = 17 vs DC12 = success
1d20+9+1 = 10+9+1 = 20 vs DC15 = hit
1d20+9+1 = 1+9+1 = automatic failure
2d6+4 = 6+6+4 = 16 non-lethal damage

Carellas stench doesn't seem to faze the bandits much, but slaps the already battered man hard across the face, and he spins and falls face first in the dirt, out cold.

1d20+7+1 = 14+7+1 = 22 vs DC12 = hit
3d6+2d6 = 6+4+1+1+2 = 14 damage

Malacets blast hits the wizard in the chest, but her wounds seem to have drained her a bit, so her blast isn't quite as lethal as she would have liked it to be, and the energy it takes from her also taxes her even further.
(The -1 Con means you lose 6 max hp until it gets restored.)

1d20+13+1 = 12+13+1 = 26 vs DC15 = hit
1d8+2 = 7+2 = 9 damage

Aramil, upon seeing Malacets form, glares angrily, but turns, dropping both his weapons, and quickly draws his longbow, aims, and fires up at the bandit in the tower, his arrow hitting the man in the side.

1d20+6+1 = 7+6+1 = 14 vs DC12 = hit
4d8 = 3+4+4+1 = 12 damage

Bolm, seeing the peril caused by the mage, and knowing another fireball could kill several of them, and that he had no more dispel spells prepared, calls on Lathander, bringing forth a beam of searing light, like the one he used on the vampire. The beam lances forth, burning the wizard further, and dropping her to the ground, dying.

3d4+3 = 1+2+4+3 = 10 damage

Granth fires a volley of magic missiles at the downed wizard, the force bolts putting her out of her misery.

(B5 has taken 9 damage, A1 unconscious, A2-4 unharmed, the wicked wizard's dead. Malacet has taken a total of 9 damage, with the loss from Con, she should have 30-9 = 21 hp left. Carella took 8 damage, and Holi took another 2, putting him at 50 total. Everyone else is at the same.)
(Fixed.)

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

((Isn't it -6 from the CON damage, seeing as it drops me 1 HP per level?))

Malacet looks back at Trex as she stands a little straighter, most of the burns disappearing. "Thanks." She says sincerely, then starts chanting another orb of energy into existence, this one bursting into it's usual flames and streaking towards one of the archers previously in her globe of darkness.

((Back to Brimstone now, nothing too important needs killing anymore ;) ))

(Eh, I'll be getting my own horns and scaly skin soon enough, so you'll receive no questionings from me, Shrike. Though I won't mind at all if your alignment is sexy evil...)

Sighing in relief that the mage was gone, Tod starts chanting again and places his hand to his chest, hoping to stay alive long enough to receive proper healing.

Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches

As he feels the pain wrack his body Holi's eyes bulge and his face turns almost to a brighter shade of red than Malacet's face. He lets out an almost feral howl as his bloodlust consumes him. No longer able to see clearly through his rage-filled eyes he charges for the closest being he can find with his axe held high.

(Hopefully none of the good guys are standing nearby since I've lost it. Holi would find you sexy evil except for the fact that you don't have a proper beard like the dwarven girls do, that and the whole insane with bloodlust thing.)
