Re: Scourge of the Silver Marches
Aramil says "I'll be outside, I don't tend to mix well with such people. If I hear a fight break out, I'll come in to back you up. Otherwise I'll spend the night in the forest." With that, he walks around the corner of the inn and disappears into the forest.
Trex moves to the door and pulls it open, the sound of conversation from inside grows loud for second before going completely silent. As the group walks through the door one by one, each member can feel every eye on them. Glancing around the spacious common room, the bar is to the groups left, and a large room held up by thick oak columns with lit lanterns hanging from the rafters to the right, filled with tables and chairs; there are also booths running along the right and far walls. There are more than two dozen men in here, mostly human, but there's a half-elf in the far corner with a long jagged scar running down one cheek and three half-orcs sitting at a table nearby. In particular, you notice three men with slanted eyes and light skin in the room, clearly foreigners, one sitting at the bar and wearing a long dark cloak, one standing at the far side of the room wearing heavy armor with a strange sword hilt protruding from his belt, and one dressed in expensive clothes walking toward you from behind the bar. One thing is clear, however, there are too many men here for this lightly trafficed road. The two serving girls, covered in grime and missing most of their teeth, stop for only a moment before returning to work, carrying platters of cheap mugs full of frothing ale. As the man reaches you, many of the conversations come back up, and Bolm closes the door behind him.
He has a slightly high voice, and an accent none of you can recognize; his pale, almost yellowish skin and slanted, brown eyes mark him as being from somewhere to the east. You notice the man in heavy armor glaring at him.
"Welcome to Burglars Bane Inn! I am the owner and founder of this inn, how may I help you this evening? Would you like something to drink? Or lodging for the night perhaps? We have several rooms open, despite how full this place seems to be! The building was just completed you see, and most of these men were part of the work crew, and a few will be staying on as..... security. There are orcs in the area you know! But surely you know that, you must have encountered some of the men I sent to guard the road. How did they treat you? Not too gruff I hope!" He smiles broadly the entire time, and makes many motions with his hands.
Trex replies; "No, not too gruff at all. One of them was somewhat..... difficult though. We encountered orcs earlier in our journey, but they were few in number and proved little trouble to us. How many rooms do you have open? We are not a small party, after all. We are weary after a long days walk, but I am sure some us would not shun the idea of a drink or two." He glances at Holi as he finishes.
The man, still smiling, replies; "Of course! Well, we have five rooms open, each with two fairly large beds. Also, I could get you the suite, six beds and a bath for each of you, should you desire it! Whichever you choose, you get dinner and breakfast included! For drinks, talk to the bartender, his name is Gam. The suite would be expensive, at 200 gold pieces a night, but the individual rooms are only 10 gold each. What would you like?"
(You guys get to pick, you want the suite so you can stick together, or individual rooms. The baths are optional. There are seven people currently in the group, since Aramil's camping, so one room would have an extra person in it. Just a tip, make sure the casters aren't by themselves, whichever option you choose. Just to be safe.)
