Eleanor sighed. She'd thought that this job would be easy, at least compared to her usual work, but it was quickly proving to be just as dangerous as any of her other assignments. She'd been hired by an anonymous source to track down a group of former slavers. After they'd failed to make good on the first delivery their product, and had instead fled toward the Eastern border, whoever their employer was had apparently decided that it was worth the cost to see that others who tried to do business with him were not quite so dishonest. Which suited Eleanor just fine, since they'd also kidnapped a pair of young girls when they'd fled the Necropolis, especially since the one running the rogue band was apparently a member of the group that had murdered her lover, so many years ago. Now, she'd have a chance to get him under her sights, and take another of their accursed pendants for her collection.
At least, that was what she'd been told by the woman that had hired her two weeks ago. Regardless, somehow they'd gotten on to her following them, and had turned South in an attempt to lose her. That hadn't worked, and so they'd come here. Artmirst. Once, Hell on Earth. Now, a rotting corpse of a town, still writhing only because of the worms under its flesh. Even with the portal that had stood at the center, the place still crawled with demons and their mutated offspring, as well as a number of cowardly scavengers she'd have to watch for if she bedded down here. Along the way she'd passed the ruins of a mine, now collapsed, which marked the edge of the town. The tracks of her quarry led her down into the town, so it was that way that Eleanor went.

Perception: Enemy wins x2. Eleanor wins x1
Attack: Autohit. Eleanor has been grappled.
This dice roller program always rolls high, apparently.

The road and the forest around it seemed clear, making Eleanor think for a moment that she might get into the town without much trouble, when she spotted movement out of the corner of her eye. turning, she found herself staring down a charging.... Plant? The creature reminded her most of a big cat, like a lion, though its body was made of leafy green material, and a pair of tentacles waved form its shoulders. It silently charged her from out of the forest, and even as she dodged aside, two more came out behind it, one of which she wasn't fast enough to avoid. It slammed into her, its leafy paws on her shoulders, and its momentum carried her to the ground. The impact didn't quite knock the wind out of her, and the plant creature was surprisingly light for something of its size, so she was still in the fight. But, with this thing on top of her, its two tentacles already reaching for her, and two more of them prowling around her, what was she going to do?
