I've privately released an experimental version of the game to a few friends for testing, that uses a system from another older project, a system i call the "motion engine". It's basically just interpolated segmented animation. I'm hoping i can use that to make the H content a bit more.....well....H-ish. It's still semi low resolution, but it takes up the whole screen with smooth segmented animation. Here's an animated GIF of a WIP test version of the reborn green bug-fox riding the player character:

Not bad! I've never been much for interpolated animations in porn myself, (There's just stuff a machine can't replicate as well) but it doesn't look bad.

Tbh I don't mind either low resolution or low framerates as they leave more to the imagination.

If that's the case, perhaps i could make the cut-ins toggleable. Little more effort, as i'll have to made two different kinds of animation for each enemy grapple, but never hurts to have options, right?

I'm currently also reworking the pause screen. It feels too barren.

Also, i've been working to make the game far more challenging. I've made it so until you get the second gun upgrade, your shots have a short range. I've also made it so your gun has a battery, and when you drain it, you have to resort to a very close range attack until you can find a recharge station to refill your gun's power cell. Not just that, i've made some enemies faster, i fixed enemies getting stuck above or below you, and i've given the parasite guards a stun-needle shot that if it hits you, you'll be stunned for half a second or so. it doesn't sound like much of a threat, but i made the guards faster too, so that half second can make a massive difference if you're not careful.


I'm also working on a very basic corruption mechanic. For the shambler, parasite guard, and reborn fox, if they assault the player and are breeding them while the player's stamina is 0, the player starts to very gradually become corrupted. The more corrupted you are, the less max stamina you have, and the harder it is to resist being grappled, as the foxy protagonist begins to enjoy it more and more.

Birthing larvae now stuns the player akin to being hit by a stun needle, and can spawn 1-4 larvae, as well as corrupting the player slightly.

I'm probably going to finish the pause-screen redesign, and maybe try to finish giving the enemies an animation for when you're infested, so they don't just idly sit still, and release that. I may hold back the cut ins for the moment until i have more time to plan them out and create them. Turns out getting segments to look right, and all sync up properly is legitimately difficult, especially when the editor i made for the motion files is pretty bare bones.

Okay, so, progress update.

I've finished two of the low res grapple animations while the player infested, i've finished an animation for the shambler while the player is corrupted, and i've finished the animation for the shambler grappling a corrupted, infested player. Larvae and shamblers both will attack an infested player, and if you can't break free, they'll increase your infestation level by 1 point. Infestation also no longer works on a timer, so if you have a thing for the cute parasite tail, you can essentially keep it indefinitely and still finish the game, so long as enemies don't push your infestation level to 6, at which point, game over.

Pregnancy now has a simple birthing animation, so you actually see the larvae come out, the Larvae no longer just randomly appears out of nowhere, leaving you wondering "wtf".

Currently beds cure corruption, but that's just a placeholder until i can find a harder to obtain cure. The corruption transformation will likely just happen if the player reaches full corruption, and will stay until you go to the parasite removal machine in your ship. Outside of one or two alternate animations (so far), the corruption transformation/form has no real change on gameplay. Trying to figure that one out at the moment.

The corrupt form currently doesn't have animations for all enemies, so most enemy grapple animations, the player will appear uncorrupted.


The emergency timer no longer takes up the bottom of the screen and obscures any southern walls, it instead uses the top left corner of the screen.

The pause menu has been overhauled graphically.

Zappers can no longer be used on accident easily. You have to move your selection over to them akin to a canteen and press Z.

Currently some enemies are a little jank due to the new corruption system, and i'll have to work out all the jank.

The melee currently does the same damage as your gun, i think, but it'll do 1-2 damage later on, I just haven't changed it's damage scale yet. The melee might have an upgrade for slightly more damage, but I'm not sure yet.

As for the corruption suggestion, it does sound interesting, and i'll take it into consideration, though i don't know if i'll use it or not.

I'll try this out if it gets larger sprites, looks interesting. As I've had issues understanding what's going with smaller sprites.

Likin the update so far! Definately harder, and the fact that infestation is no longer a ticking timebomb is nice.

I like this suggestion of corrupt animations for the player character, just not the idea of being stunned, instead you could make it so it's something you gotta break out of, like It'd be fine if it happens on a screen with no enemies, you can just watch your corrupt little foxy play with herself and mash left and right whenever you wanna break out of it, but if it happens when there are enemies around, you gotta do it quickly, otherwise they can get you and do some deliciously messed up things to you, alternate attacks that catch her unaware.. devilish laugh

After finally getting to the queen, here's my thoughts on it. You did good. the early game is less of go pew pew the bugs to oh <expletive> where is that upgrade, with firing your laser being a last resort until then along with the enemy tweeks it adds a good amount of dificulty. it's nice that the queen now summons help... the stun shot of said help combo's very well with the spawned larva and the queens suction. Also I think found cheese, a tactic I used as follows, get caught by green bug as it does no damage and is a free go to nest, from there it has nector that makes you faster at the cost of struggle and a short walk to queene the cheese is the speed is VERY good so good (so is the heal) you can do figure eight's around most foes and you can get it quite early. also it's nice that you added the ability to shoot up and down makes killing things a bit easyer.

The game may be dormant for a while. Gotta love depression. I'll do what i can to at least wrap up the updates and extra content as soon as i can, but i'm hitting that familiar wall of depression and exhaustion where i sit here and stare at a blinking cursor for most of the night.

As for the next game I try my hands at, when I can, i dunno what form it'll take. I don't even know if it'll end up being the sequel i planned, or if it'll be something new. Don't know if it'll be a hentai game or not. I just hope it's fun and at least someone somewhere can enjoy it whatever form it takes, and maybe i can finally make it about the fictional characters and world i've had in my mind for years, maybe finally give Max and Tabby a spotlight as a protagonist.

Depression sucks, hope you feel better soon, maybe this bit of news will make you laugh doctors can now write prescriptions for video games don't know all the details but imagine having your WoW bill covered by medical insurance. Hopefuly when your outa your funk you turbocharge through whatever you plan.

Is this game still being worked on? Quite like what there is so far and the direction it's going in. Not a ton of games like this out there that I can find.
