Lani quickly reloaded her revolvers, hastily shoving rounds back into the weapons while her allies fend off numerous attacks from the rapidly dwindling spiders. Vanilla unleashed a bolt of magic that severed the line between Trinthiel and the queen spider, and simultaneously lobbed a small magical orb that burst into a blinding sphere of light at the dark figure that had suddenly appeared. It didn't seem phased by the attack, the light not reaching into the dark recesses of its hood, and on it came as the tow sorceresses unleashed bolts of flame, Hilda killing the gigantic spider that Lani had injured while Vivika eliminated one of the dessicated undead spiders. Grov, Bub, and the three elementals each destroyed an enemy apiece, the elementals targeting the dead while the goblins squashed and cut at the living spiders.
Most devastating of all, however, was the second burst of white flame that Trinthiel unleashed, washing over the ranks of the lesser spiders and burning many of them away. Her serpentlike summoned creature stretched out its neck from the passageway they had come down and breathed ghostly flames onto yet more of the spiders, and many of them were cleared from the hall. The angel also pointed at the queen spider hanging above them, unleashing a beam of golden energy that gouged a scar across its armored carapace and caused it to shake and rattle deafeningly.
It shivered, and Trinthiel suddenly froze in place, her eyes blank. The dark figure strode into the wild melee and reached for the central elemental, who had yet to come to harm. The dark figure's arm suddenly shot forward, into the being of pure light, and the elemental shivered before collapsing inward. Within a second the elemental had shrunk down into the figure's palm, being sucked in, and a heartbeat later it was gone. Not dead, or banished, or dispelled. Gone. Now and forever. Lani's summoned demons shied away from the dark being, knowing that it could easily do the same to them even though they had been called to this world only temporarily. One of the elementals that had been struck by one of the larger spiders was bitten again, taking more of its venom in the form of blackened veins upon its glowing body, and the gigantic creature seemed none the worse for wear for the minor burns that it received on its mandibles in return.
Vanilla felt the only two remaining lesser spiders attempt to swallow her magics while the thralls threw themselves pointlessly against their wall of melee fighters blocking them from Lani, Vanilla, and their other allies. The half-fey easily warded off such attempts, having prepared herself to resist them already, and thus their efforts were wasted. However, both Lani and Vanilla suddenly felt a cold, alien presence enter their minds, literally forcing itself into their thoughts in order to speak to them; "Guh.... You... Attack us..... Kill... Our hive.... Leave.... We will... Not follow... No more.... Go away! Leave without harming me further, and I will depart from this place tomorrow, never to return." It was easy enough to figure out that it was the queen of the spiders speaking to them, but Trinthiel showed no reaction to the message if she had indeed received the same. The angel was also not moving much at all save for a few facial ticks, however. Their summoned allies fought on, obliviously, but the spiders seemed to be backing off slightly, as if the queen's offer was genuine.
