The stars aren't right!(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Charlie smiles as Helena transforms. "Show-off" he says playfully before transforming into a bat again and flying north-east.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena smiles sheepishly as he speaks, wriggling and bouncing a little happily before he shifts and flies off to the northeast. Helena immediately taking wing after him. Once in the air everything was easier. She was less interested in impressing charlie for his help or about any problems, the sky calming to her but her mind was still abuzz with everything that could go wrong and she was constantly scanning the sky for threats. She had to think of a way to get around this downside to feeding if she ever wanted to get out of this place.

Before she had considered she hadn't minded going insane until this had happened, and now she knew a little better. There were things she could handle, and things that would get her killed or worse. But she couldn't stop either and that bothered her. How had a succubus as Old as a Lady managed to get that far. She had to imagine somehow she'd get used to it, acclimate somehow, but she was uncertain and her paranoia made her afraid outright that she was doomed before she'd even really gotten started.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The pair flies through the night, passing the asylum and arriving in Darkon shortly before sunrise and after they land and transform, Charlie hurriedly ushers them into the same tavern they visited last time they were in the town.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena lands and annoyed, shifts back to normal, getting dressed enough to save them a witch hunt while they hurry into the tavern. Helena didn't feel like going out much and she was too paranoid to risk a fuck even though she needed one, instead getting a room key and sharing the number with Charlie, before retreating to the room and dropping on the bed.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

As Helena heads into her room, she can hear Charlie giving the barman instructions about going to the local temple. The room is simple and none too clean, but at least there appear to be no pests in the mattress. There is a small spider near the bed, though, emotionlessly spinning a new web.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena sees the little spider and reaches out gently, letting it run on her hand before placing it a little higher on the wall nearer the window if there was one, or the door. The food will be better here. she whispered to it softly, letting it go and smiling before resting on the bed, trying hard not to think and slipping into an accidental meditation without purpose or direction. Trying to stay calm.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena: 24/24 mana, 6 points of intelligence damage*, 2 points of wisdom damage*, 5 points of charisma damage* suffering from paranoia

The spider appears to have no problems being placed closer to the door, and merely begins its work again. Even while meditating Helena can feel doubts gnawing at her and she grows restless. She snaps back to wakefulness when someone politely knocks on the door. "Mistress Helena? I'm Father Holbek. I was told you might appreciate my services."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena is happy for the spider and tries and fails to relax, being gnawed by doubts and worry before a knock on the door makes her jump and fall of the bed with a startled cry.

hearing the words, and the name, Helena panicked for a moment and hid, before very timidly moving for the door, wound tighter then a spring. Charlie had sent for this. Charlie.. Trust Charlie, Try to trust charlie.

She fought and her collar burned it's last charge on her mind, letting her open the door and move back, sitting on the bed, looking extremely nervous and even openly afraid of this Father Holbek. Only if you can help me. she muttered quietly, looking away and wrapping her arms around herself.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"We shall see about that." Father Holbek turns out to be a serious looking middle-aged man dressed in a simple black robe, carrying a book and a weird-smelling pouch on his belt. Stepping through the doorway, he examines Helena's face. "What exactly is your problem? I'm afraid the runner wouldn't tell me."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena shrank back a little as he came closer but shook her head and became still, looking at him. Something happened, there was this crazy place we ran into and I feel like I'm losing my mind. I can't think straight. everything seems wrong or out to get me. It isn't normal for me and the feeling wont go away. Helena said softly, looking up at him, listening to his emotions intently, suspiciously.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The priest seems almost as suspicious as Helena, but also resigned. " 'Something happened.' I suppose it would be too much to hope that you'd tell me what you were doing or where. Very well." The priest examines Helena's skull, makes sure she can follow his finger with her gaze and does a few other tests. "Has anything like this happened to you before?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Specifically like this? No. There have been times where I've lost a couple hours of memory. But that was only once. Helena answers, following his finger and just fidgeting. SO HE WAS SUSPICIOUS TOO WAS HE!? They could have matching tin foil hats!

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Spellcraft: 4+6=failure

"Mental shock, then. Since you're coherent, I can probably take care of it, but it'll take at least a couple days." Father Holbek concludes as he finishes his tests. He then starts casting some spell Helena doesn't recognize.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Ok. Helena replied, annoyed by the couple days thing and meaning she'd be needing to NOT nibble people for 48 hours. On the bright side, recognizing the spell or not, the clergyman was suspicious and resigned, not malicious. So she had no need to start burninating him. Plus he was doing her a favor and it was one Charlie had sent for and she needed to trust him right now or they were never going to get anywhere.

Still, logic and assurance could only combat paranoia so far and she was very very tense as the spell was cast, not relaxing until he left her presence and she could go back to relative solitude. Thank you. she'd say, offering a weak but honest smile as he finished up.

This sucked. Normal food poisoning was bad enough, this was fucking rediculous. FUCKING GOATS

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

As the priest finishes his spell, Helena feels a tingling sensation in her head, and nothing more. Maybe her head felt a little clearer? It was hard to say. "I'll see you again tomorrow. Try not to strain yourself too much." Bidding good bye, Father Holbek leaves Helena to her own devices.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

ok. Helena said, watching him leave, before wondering about ano... How long would it take her to get there.... It'd taken her... 2 days or so to reach the castle from the dark elf fuck party, and basically 2 more days to get out here. So the better half of a week. Fuck, that would not be ok. She'd have to wait and see.

Buuuuut, she was also back in Darkon.

*Jasmine! Jasmine! Do you read! Can you hear me, this is Ground control! Major Tom! I repeat this is Ground Control to Major Tom!*

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*Good morning Helena. Back already?* Jasmine replies, starting to hum Space Oddity.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Had to, got a little excited and managed to hurt myself. In other news, I can throw gigantic blue fireballs that obliterate most anything. So that's a thing. How's Cindy doing? Helena asked, keeping her eyes closed and staying connected to Jasmine firmly.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

*Blue, you say? Have you been working on your anger again? Cindy is... fine, I guess. I may have been a bit too harsh on her, but since I freed her, she's been obsessed with training with the soldiers.* Jasmine replies, concern in her tone.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

No, I've been studying myself. And I lost my temper when I was interrupted. And has she? That's... Actually good for her. Wish I could do the same, Tired of getting my ass kicked without having to resort to something insane and possible self immolating. Seriously, I managed to burn myself with my own fire. Helena said, thinking on things.

As it stands from what you showed me, and well, from this place? We need to try a new approach, the old Live in the Background isn't going to get us home Jasmine. So... I'm Feeding. That's why we had to turn back, my heads all in knots. she continued, rubbing her forehead absently while she stayed focused.
