The stars aren't right!(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The man pauses as Helena approaches him and smile cautiously. "Ah...hello. Do you happen to know if there's an armorsmith in these parts? I had the... unluck to battle a monster that ruined my maille and I need a replacement." he says, speaking with heavy accent.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

I... rightfully have on idea... And a monster? Good lord man, well, armor can come later, how about a drink first at the very least and some relaxation. she offered, looking appropriately shocked at the poor man's misfortune.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"That sounds nice." the man says, smiling. "Lead the way."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena didn't have the heart to tell the man he was about to have a drink with another monster. And wasn't entirely sure she wanted to completely slurp him down after having just Gotten over going temporarily insane. But a good hard fuck and lighter meal were definitely in order and she only hoped he was up to the task of impressing her, or she really was going to eat him.

Leading the way, Helena reached out gently for his hand, but didn't try anything, instead just gently gripping his hand in hers and steering them towards a tavern, the tavern, ANY tavern and finding them a place to sit alone, going to get the promised drinks. Honestly she needed one.

Once that was done, her with wine, and him with whatever he wanted, she'd sit again. I love an exciting tale. Tell me about it? she asked, grinning, actually kind of excited to hear about it. Or maybe that was her clit doing her thinking for her. He was actually kind of cute. And after GOATHERDER.... she could simply appreciate Good Looking. Not that Charlie was BAD looking.... but she doubted he'd give her a roll in the hay.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The bartender serves both of them dry wine, and the man visibly relaxes as sits into his chair, back to the wall. "Well, me and my companions were investigating rumours of a shapechanger in a small village north of here. We knew it would not be easy prey should it realize we were out to hunt it, so we hatched a cunning plan to lure it out..." His green eyes sparkle as he starts spinning her a tale of his hunt. Apparently they had eventually managed to find the shapeshifter, only for it to flee from the confrontation. The tracks lured the hunting party into a cave where roach-like monsters dwelled. A mere touch of their antennae caused spots of rust to appear, and though they retreated swiftly, slaying two of the beasts, he had had his armor ruined by their touch.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena listened to the tail of armor rusting bugs, but was more interested in this apparent shifter. They'd russled up something, so it wasn't her... that was nice.

What kind of shifter? I'm terribly fascinated with the odd and unexpected. she said, sipping on her wine and smiling.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"With shapeshifters, how you can you tell? It was probably just a changeling, though." he answers, draining the rest of his wine. "So how did you end up in this town?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

I travel alot. Looking for an Old, old friend. He's been on the wind for awhile now. He wrote several books. And while I like to collect his works, I'm far more interested in meeting back up with him. So, I'm always in the wind myself. Funny how life works. She answered smoothly, drinking easily.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

He nods. "Old friends are good to have. I don't have too many myself, such is the lot of a traveller." Setting down the empty cup, he leans back in his chair, looking past Helena at the rest of the tavern. "What kind of books does he write?"

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The Mandrigorian. Helena answered smoothly, smiling at him. That and little poems and stories. she continued, draining her cup and holding it up for a top off.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"The Mandrigorian..." the man muses. "I think I've heard the name somewhere. Couldn't say where, though." A waitress comes by, filling both of their cups.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

That's always the trouble, they're spread around quite a bit now, and it's not like they were ever copied. Frustrating, but I'll find him. And I can show up and be Look! I have all your books! Ha! Miss me? or something. I have no idea. she said, chuckling and sipping on her second glass. She was trying to remember the reason she was looking for a man, something to do with sex.

She'd figure it out.

So between wooing fine ladies with too much wine, and hunting monsters, what else occupies your time? she asked, grinning.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"Oh, a bit of this, a bit of that. I'm quite fond of watching Kartakan bards. Not many of them abroad, but I do try to visit Skald once in a while. Adventuring doesn't leave much free time between hunting monsters, training and travelling. But do tell me more about Mandrigorian. I might be able to point you in the right direction if you refresh my memory." he says smoothly, smiling as he looks into Helena's eyes.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

It's basically a giant collection of his crazy ideas and theories for some very odd magics. They don't Work, obviously, but they're very interesting. He's always going on about other worlds and such. Him and Ser Richten used to take tea together and talk. Another charming man. I was never great shakes at much, fine ladies meant to be seen and admired, not heard. But... I miss my friend, there just aren't enough of us around anymore. Scholars. People willing to entertain the crazier ideas for a chance at finding a new truth. But that leads me to an interesting thought, what's your truth? she asked him, holding his gaze, smiling.

He was proving very interesting, interesting enough to not reach over and charm or dominate, primarily because of a suddenly hostile undercurrent in the conversation. He Knew something, and he also knew She was more then she looked so what had been a potential meal was still a potential meal obviously, but also a possible threat.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

"I... see." the adventurer replies, the dawning realization fairly obvious in his face. "My truth? I'm a simple adventurer. Fighting the good fight is enough for me."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Now hun, don't make a scene. It's not worth it, you don't have any armor, I'm in a fairly good mood, and believe it or not... I'm just passing through. Helena said, his obvious face telling her quite a bit, but she didn't dump the Whole horrifying revelation out in front of him. She'd let him draw his own conclusions.

Believe it or not, I can respect... Fighting, the good fight. At least you're doing your best. But here's the thing... she whispered, leaning in slowly. You're nothing but a Meal to me if you piss me off. And if you make that scene, that's going to be true of Everyone in this little village. So. Fight the Good Fight, as it were, and Kiss me. You'll walk out of this place whole, healthy, and with a story for your children. Or you'll never walk out of here at all. Your choice. she said extremely softly, looking deep into his eyes.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

When Helena gazes in the man's eyes, for a split second she catches a glimpse of something that's less human than she is, that had been removed from humanity and turned into something alien. Then it's gone and his expression turns to stone. "And why, pray tell, should I believe you instead of plunging a blade into your heart here and now?" he replies and Helena notices a shimmer in the air near his hand.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Because it wouldn't help much. She said, her own hand shimmering very softly. And obviously because I'm not here alone. This is Darkon. We Were having a friendly discussion about a book, but then you had to go and look too hard. I've been ordered Not to make a scene. If you make it yourself the cat's out of the bag and I have to purge the area. This place isn't on fire yet, it's not supposed to be on fire in general. But... I have had a Shitty week and would love to blow off some steam by steamroasting this entire fucking place. If you're right, you can kill me, but not my companions. If you're wrong the weight of every soul in this village will ultimately be measured against your own and found wanting she answered, muscles bunching and mass reducing in case she had to leap away regardless and start World war 3 in a fucking tavern.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

His smile returns as quickly as it had vanished, though this time it doesn't quite reach his eyes. "Ordered. I see. Then perhaps both of us should walk away. I suspect we may yet come to blows, but this isn't the right place or time for that."

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Until next time then. she answered, her own smile having never left. But she commited that face to memory, and pulled in a scent of his emotions and how they blended, for hunting later.

She'd watch him leave, just... letting everything about Him sink in, who knew, maybe he'd bring her extra snacks. Though now that she thought about it, this place COULD be more on fire...
