The stars aren't right!(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

As Helena comes tumbling down from the tunnel and all but slams into a wall, she finds herself in a small chamber, lit by a single torch. There's a tunnel that, judging from the smell, goes into the sewer system, but she also sees Claire above her, on a ladder just pushing a manhole cover open.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena, rushing into the room, surged up to grab glare with her claws, her teeth, her wings, kicking off the ladder furiously to tear him from the ladder, hoping the sudden shock of her appearance and grapple would loosen his grip but she wasn't about to let him go.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena: Grapple check: 10+6 vs flat-footed: success
Claire: Grapple check: nat 20

As Helena grabs the man, she shimmers, becoming visible. As she starts pulling at him, his foot slips. Growling, Claire spins around and violently grabs Helena, causing both of them to tumble to the floor, with him on top.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

As Claire turned, Helena grinned, a horrifying, almost entirely feral expression as her mind, body, and soul boiled with lust, the same, hateful, insane lust that had overtaken most of an entire desert village. Her Meal was right there, holding her, her skin soft and warm, her body open and inviting. Kiss Me... Fuck me like you Hate me.... Like I Hate You.... she hissed, rolling her body against him and wrapping her wings around him tightly, needing him to open up so she could start tearing at his soul with fangs that existed in an entirely different dimension of being.

Her legs wrapped around him, her lips trying to press to his, hungry, starving, an appetite burning inside her born of hate and fear and unbelievable anger. all while she rolled her hips in a way that only had a single purpose or translation.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena: concentration check: 13+13=success
Claire: Will save: success
Grapple check: 14+6=success
Helena is now pinned

Despite Helena's attempt to wrap around him, Claire easily pins her hands to the floor with his own, while also sitting up on top of her, looking around for anything he might use.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Getting pinned, Helena found herself without a way to actually attack and what had been something of an offer for a sweeter death for both of them boiled back into seething hatred as she began to writhe and bite, twisting wildly and struggling furiously to escape Claire's grip.

She had escaped things far more stringent then a man's hand as there were no spells she could think of to make this simpler, but she was going to get lose, and she was going to reduce him to ashes.

Helena: 13+14= escape artist success
Claire: attack roll: 11+8

Helena: HP 32/40 Mana: 30/36 1 point of con damage

With a sudden burst of speed, Helena slips her hands free and shoves Claire away. The officer grunts as he staggers backwards, only to draw his rapier and lunge at her. Slashing at her wing, he easily falls into a defensive stance, eyeing her carefully.

slipping free, Helena was stabbed for her trouble, howling in rage and anger as she tucked her wing back, now bleeding from the rapier blade. She saw Claire now. He was like the green skinned ape creatures, he was like the door. He was just another thing to rip asunder and spit on the ashes of.

Stepping back, Helena hurled a bolt of fire in his face, looking now to dance around him, standing on the balls of her toes and prepared to leap around him should he lunge again to attack again from the air, looking for one more visceral exchange to simply cause him more Pain. She would take him to the brink of death and then extract his soul in the most painful way she could contrive... She wanted him to Scream at the moment of his death, and to scream forever more trapped within her own burning soul. She had never wanted anything more.

Claire remains steadfast, slashing at Helena again though his eyebrows are scorched by the blast of flames from her hand. Ducking to avoid most of the second blast, he lunges again, very nearly puncturing the demon's leg with his rapier.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Trading blows, Helena came away bleeding and if possible, even angrier then before, and it seemed neither one of them was having any luck in dodging the other. She'd already traded part of her health to blow a door apart, and she did it again now, curling a soul into her hand as a vicious ball of blue flames to unleash on the soldier, only needing to see his corpse, or if she was lucky, take him to the edge so she could still feed on what was left of him.

If that wasn't the case, she was going to take it out on all his house staff.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Reflex save: nat 1
Damage: 38
Helena: HP 16/40 Mana: 25/36 2 points of con damage

Blue fire bursts out of Helena's hands, exploding in the center of the chamber and catching Claire by surprise. The stink of burning flesh fills the chamber, and flames dance on his clothing as Claire's smoking corpse collapses to the floor.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Roasting the man an a glorious conflagration of blue fueled by another mortal soul and Helena's intense rage, Helena watched the criss crossing burn like marks on her arms take on the same look as they did the first time she'd done this, the succubus hissing angrily and began to heal her own wounds, taking her time.

When it was seen to, she'd go over his smoldering body for anything of value that her flames hadn't destroyed carefully, before rendering herself invisible and returning to the stables for her costume, and her mask.

Claire was dead, Jade still lived. But at least she'd made her debut of sorts.

She'd also been cheated out of his soul, and made plans as she flew invisibly back towards her stuff, to make good on her promise of eating his household staff.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Claire does not have money on his person, but he does have a signet ring. The rapier also looks quite expensive, with several sapphires embedded on the hand guard, and golden script inlaid in the blade itself.

On the topside, the stable has been put out, and her equipment is where she left it. Claire's house appears empty now that he is no longer inside, or at least Helena can't sense anyone.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Taking the rapier and the ring, Helena had no trouble getting back, and found her stuff where she'd left it, slipping back into her costume and donning her collar and mask, before heading back into the empty house. he had no money on his person but he'd shot at her, and he HAD money, she knew he did.

It was a question of finding what she could and she wasted no time in rifling through his house floor by floor, starting at the top, the rapier held in her hand and the ring tucked safely away.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

A thorough search of the mansion would take a long time, but in Claire's room, Helena finds a locked jewelry box, a bag with three hundred gold pieces, and a set of heavy keys, as well as a wardrobe filled mostly with uniforms, a musket of exceptional craftsmanship, and ammunition for it. In the rest of the mansion, there are paintings and wall hangings that would probably be worth quite a bit were she able to carry them away and find them a buyer. In the kitchen there is, of course, silverware made from silver, and the library has plenty of manuscripts - many of which relate to military matters such as tomes of detailing past campaigns - some of which are bound to be highly valuable. Helena also discovers several deeds of ownership, but their value without the man's own signature would be dubious at best. Overall, there is surprisingly little easily stealable wealth in the house.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena, as she searched took the gold, the jewelry box, the musket, and the powder and ammunition, wrapping it up in a sheet like a twisted krampus. She was in a better mood now while she continued to search. Finding deeds of ownership, Helena grinned wickedly, sure they needed his signature... but this was a backwards medieval era, and rather then agonize over it, she instead searched for anything with his signature on it... She had his signet ring...

She took all these papers, and if she could find it, his last will and testament. She doubted it but she looked anyway. The paintings and books she couldn't easily carry or sell. She pocketed the keys last and sighed, slinging her stash of goodies over her shoulder. It was to invisibility once more, and then straight back to her safehouse. This home she wouldn't burn... Instead, if she had the last will and testament... she would find a proper forger she could force to perform the signature, making her the owner of the deeds, along with the signet ring. Dubious yes, but hard to contest. Even failing the deeds would be worth money if the last will couldn't be found, making the holder of the deeds the official owner.

She licked her lips behind the mask before locking herself in her room when she got there, testing the keys on the jewelry box.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

After finding a letter with Claire's signature, Helena flies back to the safehouse and gets there without incident. The jewelry box appears to need a key smaller than any in the keyring, which means it would probably be found somewhere in the house, and she just hadn't spotted it during her short search.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Sighing as she found she couldn't unlock the box with any of the keys, Helena carefully melted the hasp to open the box, wondering what was inside the box because it was a pretty box and a locked pretty box without a key was worthless anyway

As it stood, she needed to stay out of sight for a little bit. Her blonde form was no good because of jade and the seamstress, and the mask and costume was for her little night time raids. Sighing, she stripped down for a moment and focused, becoming an elven redhead with hair down to her ass, and subtle curves, an ample c cup chest and sharp features with shining green eyes. Happy with that she went back to forcing the box open.

Claire was dead, Jade would be if she got a shot at him, and she needed a little time to recover and heal properly, that type of magic took a lot out of her.
Still, could have been worse, made quite a splash though. need to finish the fucking job for the odd folk though. Maybe they've got my fucking books. she muttered to herself, inspecting the rapier and musket next carefully and slowly, using the mask to look for any enchantments in the gear.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

The box contains several rings with gemstones - one of which, she notes, has a small latch that would allow someone to stealthily drop a small bit of powdery substance without being detected. There are also three beltbuckles, one of which is shaped like a dragon's head and has some kind of enchantment within, as well as two necklaces and several medals.

Neither the rapier nor the musket are enchanted, but Helena notices that the musket has been made with extreme skill, making it a true masterpiece beyond the skill of an ordinary blacksmith. The fine mechanism would be certain to never jam, even if used with poorly made powder.

Re: Are the stars right?(Helena/Courage Wolf)

Helena grinned as she saw what was in the box, pawing through things and making careful note of the buckle, shaped like a dragon and bearing some kind of dweomer. The rest was simple jewelry, valuable in it's own way. Save for a ring that would allow for a poison. Interesting.

The Musket was extremely well made, a masterpiece of the craft even to her. The Rapier was simply a fine piece with it's slender blade and sapphires and she idly pondered learning to properly use a real weapon when she returned to Darkon, burning herself with her own power to kill her targets was risky and getting tiresome, at the same time it sent an incredible rush of excitement and power through her and she loved it.

Setting all of these things aside for now, she'd have to wait to find someone to sell them for her, she was well aware stuff like this would be noticed, unless she changed her face each time she made the sale.

For now she had coin, which was good enough and had no questions attached to it, and the buckle which she could try and puzzle out, doing so for at least a few minutes, but if she failed she would simply tuck it away and wait, turning her attention properly to the dossiers on her three proper targets. She did have a job to do, excitement of the night aside and she had the rest of the evening to properly study them again, this time setting her sights on the wine merchant, and waiting for dawn, meditating on him while she waited.
