Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I'm happy to go with what you want. It could be a werekin thing, where you're a child of a lycanthrope and a human, and you don't have the trait for full on lycanthropy.

Just an idea.

I like that idea. I just started with a fighter, but took barbarian as we already had Esvele, so.. her being tough because of her repressed hidden bestial nature works fine. *nodnod* Plus makes interesting intrigue because she'd not be sure if to consider herself less.. or more than human.

Suggestion: She can discover/learn that she can warg with wolfys or bears and have not 1 body but 2 bodies.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Just waiting for an Esvele response to the St Markovia vision.

So um Rovana I know this is a big ask but for the sake of continuity problems for the other PCs going at a slower pace, can you leave the city standing? ;)

ooook. No promises on Wachter mansion though. :p

Nah, I expect Rovana will lie/intimidate her way past the guards, try her best to lie/halftruth herself into services of lady Wachter, perhaps do a job or two that may or may not involve lewd/horrifying things to get her trust, then, when theres an opportunity, snatch the gem for her sword and retreat (with or without encountering sex-toy merchants) only to head on off to the mountains peak.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I will try to give Rovana reasons to go places where the others are unlikely to go. My concern is that Rovana will bump into and potentially kill all the neat NPCs. I have some solutions for that however.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Rovana wouldn't just kill the people, no really, its usually a waste, she might decieve, intimidate and rob, but shes not evil/cruel enough to kill off npcs without a good reason. ^^

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Hmmm. Any input from Ireena? Otherwise, Ima post in about.. ehhh 16ish+ hours.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Just haven't had the opportunity yet to write a reply, doing so now. I am more interested in letting the PCs drive the major decisions of the story however.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Perhaps we'll meet abler believers

Sylvia believes.. in the glory of Falkovnia!

Only minor were-beastly identity crisis to go with it. :p

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Okay, Sylvia is officially meeting the party.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Annnd posted. Sorry, took a bit longer then I thought to just sit down, uninterrupted and not get distracted.

Yay, meeting Syvlia and Bella ho ho ho ho.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I'd like to make an Insight check to see if they're on the up and up.

Also uhhhhh I'm struggling between the OOC desire to just grab my new party member and get on with it, and the IC desire to be a paranoid Barovian and leave the well-armed, possibly-bandit, possibly-ambush-baiting strangers in the dust please assist.

Look at the sexy mage girl and let the chance of lust and sexy times overpower esvele's paranoria!

From her old life, Esvele would have seen different people from different lands within the Domain of Dread. Let's say for the sake of brevity that she has had the chance to be in Falkovnia for a small time.

She'd recognise the military style greeting of Sylvia and would have a good insight onto the fact that she's probably one of the poor sods who live under Vlad Drakov, a mercenary king and despot who thinks that military strength is all it takes to conquer lands outside of his domain. He's made a bunch of attempts, but inevitably has been pushed back.

Anyways, your insight check... You roll a 16+3 = 19.

You get the feeling that Sylvia is just as she says she is. A Falkovnian who's never been to Barovia before.

Bella's dress style is concerning and it combined with her cleavage reminds Esvele of Morgantha. She seems to be genuinely pleased to be with Sylvia and you don't get the feeling that she means you any harm. Spellcasters in Barovia tend to be a crazy lot - tampering with supernatural power from a source other than the Morninglord is a questionable choice - but that could just be your piety talking.

Your insight also suggests that both of these woman are capable of handling themselves. Just as you and Vita are, of course.

Bottom line: Esvele thinks that there'd be no harm in taking them aboard, so long as she doesn't let her guard down. Plus, the Morninglord prescribes charity to those in need. A couple people walking in Strahd's woods are in more danger than five people on a cart.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Also I'd say that Sylvia is too polished in both apperance and manner to pass for an ordinary bandit.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

So a really good bandit then?

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

If she is, you should be accomondating all the more, because that'd mean there'd be a half dozen crossbows aimed at you from the dark from her associates.

I tried to write Sylvia to be a good teamplayer character, but if you refuse her I'm sure she'll have some breeding fun with Bella who most definitly is just a beautiful buxom spellcaster and little more and the DM will find something in Vallaki or on the road to lead us to collide again anywhoo. :p

Time for a BEAR hug.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Maybe what you all need is some nice shared group sex as an ice breaker. I'm fairly certain Bella would oblige that.
