Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Mmhmm.

Oh and Diaga, Vita might not be a member of the church, but if she thinks about it, she might figure that the light inside of her could be connected to the Morninglord somehow, and therefore she has just as much say in things as Esvele.

Not at that very instance where they are talking about the Abbey and trying to confirm if the abbey has someone powerful enough to do it. It'd be will foot in mouth and not reading the mood for her to just barge right in there at that convo point saying other stuff.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Don't be discouraged Diagas, I just reviewed my post for Rovana I made in haste (cause super intense scene, even if some of that intensity was created by her :p ) and I found I could post twice as much just.. being my character. ^^

I'd say I'm not discouraged but if I am coming off that way, eh.

Just waiting for abbey stuff to be talked about. Abbey stuff IS where Esvele from recently (if I reading chara background right.)

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

@Diaga: You read correctly. Blarg, can Esvele do a quick response?

I'm not trying to drag this scene out. As soon as the characters decide what to do, they can enact their plan and it'll play out as you like. If you want to go back and forth on options, you can do that in this thread, just to speed things along.

@Pervy: I'm probably gonna have things go into Combat time now, so could you roll for initiative, and be very clear about what your action is for the turn (as well as your Cunning action as usual.) I had assumed that you had your sword out, but if you sheathed it, you can have the statue in one hand and the medallion in the other. The statue is kinda big to be easily shoved into her belt. It's twelve inches tall and maybe 5 inches wide at the base, so she'd have to unbuckle and then rebuckle her belt to secure it. The medallion she could fling on over her head (if she took her hat off first!) or clench in her teeth.

Specter dude is within melee range. he got a modified 3 for initiative so I think Rovana goes first even if she gets a 1 on her roll.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Ok. I presume sheathing her blade is a free action thingie. crazy question: Control waters can't be used on blood as a last ditch effort to save herself from bleeding? well, considering theres a spectre too, she might well flee towards Ludmilla.. posting up now!

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I think if I allowed blood bending we would cross into a very large gamey grey area where the cantrip is way too over the top. There are higher level spells that represent bigger gusts and more total control over water, and I don't want to short change those. The power has to be kept at cantrip level and controlling blood is a bit too much. (although it's within the flavor of the campaign setting, I grant you.)

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I agree with you and thats what I feared. .. well maybe if she gets her gem-upgrade thingie.

Anyway. my pms derp around, so responding here.. yes.. very intense.. its time for Rovana to do or die.. and she just lost her token, albeit at, considering a frigging spectre just spawned, a good price.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

hmnnn I hope i can assume Rovana sheathed her blade to reach for the statue before the combat turn starts? If not, well, Rovana has to disengage, double move to deal with the spectre hmnn..

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I think if you want to grab the statue too, it'll require an action this turn. You can have your sword sheathed and secured as a free action this turn. You can grab it and double move if you want to risk an AoO strike from the specter or you can grab, withdraw, and regular move towards the entrance of the chapel. Or you can leave the statue and withdraw, move, and dash.

You'll need a double move to just get out of the chapel if you want to run back the way you came.

Other exits are the two other, smaller halls just to the left and right of the main doors into the hall with the knights.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

I posted. If you do not allow this course of action, Rovana would abandon the figurine rather than get spectre'd. Last she needs is more of whatever a spectres natural attacks do to you.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Specter's natural attack? Why, they heal you and you start to sprout flowers from your earholes... :D

yeah, can you edit your last post. What I said still goes. It takes an action to grab the statue off of the altar, which would mean one less move action. I'll let you edit before I respond, okay?

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Edited. Only fleeing. I'd think you could pick up two longish objects in one hand with a good dex check but so be it. Shame, I bet the figurine is something the other two could use, and it'd be fun for Rovana to think it useless and pawn it off for rum.

I'm definitly slipping on the necklace as Rovana flees at least if thats ok.

3d6 necrotic plus life drain. Yeah no, none of that.

*exhales*

Right then! Lets stress test the whole vampire spawn thing.

Its weird how Rovana both pays respects to the Counts power yet seeks to poke a black vampire shaped hole in it. Then again, thats CN for you. Then again, looking at the Ireena thing despite a bunch of brides to go with, perhaps the count can at least emphatize.

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

The Count's motivations are for him to know and the players to find out, if they care to.

I'm not a big fan of using alignment to justify actions, but eh.

Edit: that's a couple turns worth of actions given how long it takes to say all that. Hrmmm, I will ponder how to respond to this.

Aww come on, I'm not justifying with my alignment just kinda.. chuckling. *shrugs*

And uh.. well.. I guess you could have her bleed out mid sentence in the midst of things because, yeah pushing talking being a free action I know but.. uh... well I dunno.. I was just.. kinda motivated. ^^

Aaand.. geesh. Well!

Uh.. I guess I reroll a character? ^^ I will throw you a pm. *nods*

No you don't reroll a character. Start believing in ghost stories!

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

*spooks* A'ight, This'll make erotica 90% harder, which is almost a 45% increase. (Statistics are mean.)

Also you lost your chance to do Barbossas quote cooler, so its my turn now.

'Better start believing in ghost stories, miss Rovana, for you are one!'

Both Barbarossa and Sparrow died. Think of it more as a rite of passage.

:)

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

Thinking about it, Jack technically died twice, second time literally going to Davy Johnes locker.

Also, Rovanas comment to that would be: "Seriously? Why nay put me in the long boat with no clothes or stick me in a barrel with a hose pipe on me!"
*chuckles*

Re: Through the Mists: Out of Character Discussion

You know, given my totally incompatible posting rate with you two other people I'm beginning to think this might have been an error in judgement.
