I was so pissed that there weren't any scenes with the extraordinarily attractive, incestuous humanoid woman -- something that like 2 in 3 males would like to see -- but there were tons with the damn plastic-bag-full-of-chicken-giblets angel diarrhea blob monsters-- something that like 1 in 100 males would like to see. Even here, where everyone is accustomed to vile pornography, I bet less than half of dudes wanted to see another angel nightmare poop factory shit out another fetus or whatever.

Seriously -- great game, great story, but the putrid (and ENDLESS) angel enemies were infuriating and tedious.

To be fair, they were pretty accurate depictions of how angels originally were protrayed.

That is to say, as horrible unspeakable things you don't wanna look at. Very old Biblical inspired in general. It does make you appreciate the more... modern versions more.

Hmm. I've never thought about that. I guess my brain sorta turns off its 'higher literary analysis' functions when I'm viewing pornography, but it isn't fair to attribute the design of the angels in MGQ p.3 exclusively to vile fetishism. They legitimately may have been going for an approach that was more analogous to ye olden biblical angels by focusing on trying to visualize what was written (in the bible) merely to be unfamiliar to the point of being inconceivable.

Still though -- and I've made this argument before -- sex is the only example I can think of where lack of variety is a-ok, or even fundamental to the whole issue. As a heterosexual human male, I am programmed to want ( . Y . ) and (()) and maybe ( )*( ) if she's down. I knew what boobs and vaginas and buttholes looked like as soon as I learned how to use a keyboard, and I've only gotten LESS bored with them since that time. As such, when dealing with ero art, a departure from the expectation (which would be normal sexuality) shouldn't be viewed with the same reverence as in normal art. Art is expression, so expressing things nobody else tries to express is innately good. In ero art, there is a definite goal in mind (eroticism), so things are a bit different.

NOTE: To be fair, we aren't naturally predisposed toward being attracted to assholes. It's just fun, and similar enough to vaginas that we can kinda learn how to be attracted to it. Frankly, I'm not attracted to it -- if anything, I think it's gross -- so much as I think its pro's outweigh its con's.

I kind of like how MGQ has a pretty broad... style, I guess. It's meant to be different from Kenkou's setting where every monstergirl is just jaw-dropping beautiful and perfect.

It kind of creates a nice setting and feel that, no, not everything in MGQ-verse is actually attractive to... most people. But bodily functions don't really care about that kind of thing.
