I should be clearer.. I do like to describe things only so far as the players can percieve them, simple example, if theres a secret door and you all roll piss-poor on your perception/search, I'll describe a bland wall(which isn't described at all individually usually) or if someone looks about purposefully but blows it roll/rp wise its more of a 'You don't find any secret doors' which is a vast difference from 'There are no secret doors here'. Take a peek at how I rp certain posts, am sure you'll find an example or two.

Huh, i've been trying to read up on classes that i'm not familiar with and... wow. The War priest is just... a strange class. It's essentially just a watered down Cleric, without a specialty.. I don't know what they were going with there.

Am I missing something, or is my first assumption correct?

You're basically right. It has some advantages for certain niche builds but yes it wasn't the best plan. I feel like it and the Hunter are the two kinda superfluous classes from that book.

I'm reading through the discussions and a lot of people are complaining about it too, during the playtesting even. I don't understand why the designers didn't heed anyone's advice, since all of their complains are true. It's a class that doesn't have a specialty and the three other divine classes all do their jobs better. It's honestly one of the only classes I feel jut shouldn't exist at all...

Speaking with experience with Paizo, their playtests are more like hype generators than actual feedback systems. There's a ton of problems that could have been addressed but never were in most playtests. The closest to a decent one we've had was for the Occult book, and it's alright all considered. Kineticist is overtuned to hell but besides them somehow turning basically the WARLOCK into the most confusing class in the game it's actually functional.

Paizo also tends to errata things in the faqs for some reason and often contradictorily. But that's a different subject.

But yeah, paizo tends to only look for feedback that fits their preconceptions. It's why the gunslinger is the mess that it is. When they get things they don't wanna do they tend to... shut down.

That said, they do listen on occasion. Investigator almost shipped with sneak attack instead of Studied Strike. And the Warpriest originally didn't have the monk table thing and was stuck with his gods favored weapon only meaning dagger gods were screeeeeewed. Not that it's much better.

In any case the Warpriest is functional. Not better than the cleric, though that gap doesn't become quite as apparent until a certain level threshold. But it is good for making niche builds work as a dip.

Though frankly I consider THIS to be the best thing to come out of the warpriests existence.

Chances are the designers knew of the issues, but were under time constraints to release the sourcebook at one point.

@Mindflayer: Uhm... ook. you responded to Vel, only, but no to the tag to you pulling you to the feasting or anything going on there.

Seeing how Lior and Asheroth wanna do or at least flirt with lewd times too, I consider it may be the best approach to simply pull erotica into sub-forum posts, while advancing the main ic thread by 8 hours, having you all continue after/in addition to lewds.

Thing is, I dun wanna -stop- you from having fun, at the same time, I kinda want the action to go on without everyone else waiting on the lewdities to finish, that'd make you rush 'em and have less fun and.. the rest waiting ain't gonna have fun either.

So, unless I hear any opposing voices soon, I'll make a sub-thread for Vel/Lena and Asheroth/Lior to do lewd plannings in, while in the main thread Kaila, Vel and Dasyra go to the library, Sylvie, Xirce, Lena(?), Lior and Asheroth go scouting, alrights?

Apologies for that, I've been procrastinating and stuff on Lena's posts, and didn't realize the wedding banquet thing had happened. I'm gonna start posting more for Lena starting with my last post, which I've edited to include the banquet stuffs some too.

ok, I'ma give you and asheroth/Lior a timebubble thing, please move the lewdities there so the main storythread can continue without you needin to rush things.

Edit.. aaand apprently you concluded the naughty scene with Vel anyway... meh, ok. Well, I can just delete the topic again.

Vel was happy to let Lena hammer at her and get in her head the idea of violation and doing what she wants for "goodness" is totally not just CE behaviour. Hey if letting her be delusional gets the job done and all...

Seems the second group is ready for liftoff too, though not gathered up quite yet. If you wish, you can already give me a stealth and a perception check to start things off, the good ol' bread and butter of a scouting mission. ^^

you totally can, lvl 8 characters can have an 11 without int mod.

If you don't roll, I do it with a penalty for making me do all dat work.:p
