"Yeah, that works. The door isn't giving any, of course, I didn't really expect it to be that easy. After all, they were designed to stay shut after being closed and sealed."


She headed to the manual over-ride switch, getting into position.

"Just in case, brace yourselves. There is a small chance this was sealed off for a reason and not just a malfunction. I don't want anyone caught unprepared."



Nova eventually came across two corpses that appeared to have been fed upon by wraith and recently too. He also discovered a data pad which was on, listing detailed stuff about the ship. The problem was, it was all in Ancient.



Siphon's mind was caught by a buzzing alert inside it. Focusing on it for a moment, he inwardly cursed.

Sho we have a problem. Shielding is down to sixty three percent, and we just lost the internal life sign detectors. I can't track those wraith anymore, they might be heading toward you, so look sharp.

"Understood, we're moving to assist."

The Edge moves closer toward the other ships, it's larger weapons taking aim at the hive. The hive would soon recieve a hail from the Tiberions.

"This is the 108th Tiberion legion. You will cease your attack, or be destroyed. The choice is yours."

"Duly noted." Sho backed up a little, her attention on the door itself, wanting to do her best to see through the thing as it opened before anything else might have a chance at getting through. "Hey, Caitlin? If I dive for cover, shoot," she says with a bit of a laugh.

Wonderful. Well, we're working as fast as we can here but it's just the captain, Cait, and me here. You'll know if there's Wraith. What about Nova? Can you get in contact with him at all and send him where they were? Maybe he'll run into them coming back and take the bastards down. There was absolutely no question in her mind whether or not he could actually fight the Wraith. His not being able to come out on top in a fight was never an option.

Nova quietly picked up the data pad and slid it into a large pocket in the inside of this jacket.

"Siphon's goinna love this"

Crouching down beside the bodies he ran his hand along the bodies he analysed them for and telling markings to indicate where the now full targets were.

"You shall be avenged." he wispered to the air and placed a hand on his tanto.

"Gotcha." Caitlin said easily, bracing her chair in a corner between a wall and a support strut and locking the wheels, then shouldering her rifle again, aiming for the door.

I can try to, the section he went into decompressed out into space just a few moments before I lost the internal sensors, so I have no idea what shape the speakers in that area of the ship may be in, or if they even work.


It was notable that he never once had a trace of doubt that Nova had gotten out of the section before it vented.



Helia threw the over-ride switch, and after a moment of squealing metal protest, the doors were pried open by her and Sho's efforts. What awaited them was a terrifying sight. Half the wall in the room had been ripped open into space, and only a thin force field was still keeping the air inside. However, a faint hissing sound could be heard.

"Oh ... this is not looking good at all, not in the slightest."




Suddenly the air came alive in Nova's section.

Shade, this is Siphon. I don't know if you can hear me, but if you can, try to find a black panel on one of the walls. Inside should be a blue button that will allow you to contact me directly. Will repeat this message in exactly ten seconds."



The only reply Corax got was a shuddering sensation as the hive directed several blasts of weapons fire that impacted against his ship and shields, completely ignoring his words.

"So be it. Wipe them out."

The Edge's shields flare up at the blasts, while the ship returns fire with a massive barrage of missiles and laser fire.

"Oh crap. And you said most of the controls to wake up the crew used to be in there?" She stops dead, hearing the hiss, trying to determine if it's pissed off Wraith or something else.

Okay, not good. We're missing a chunk of ship over here. We *might* be able to get to work on reviving the crew, but, well, the ship is full of holes with one of those things like the Kara's bridge window over it. How's things outside?

"Ah." Caitlin said slowly as the door peeled open, revealing the room within. "Hmm... If the controls are simple enough, I should be able to stay in here to work them, even if the shielding fails. I'm still in my flightsuit, it's got at least a few hours' air supply." She offers, assuming the hissing sound to be a gas either leaking into the room, or out of the ship.

Nova looks around still waiting for some sort of ambush as he makes his way towards the wall with the comm system.

"Yo Nova here, whats up." he answered calmly.

The hive, which had already been weakend by the drone fire, flared up with flames as the blasts struck it, but still at first it refused to die. Soon enough however, it exploded, but not before launching countless darts, half of which accelerated to ramming speed at Corax's ship, the other half heading for either the Kara or the damaged Ancient Warship. From here, Corax could tell the ship was badly damaged, and in several areas completely open to space. Others were venting atmosphere, and there was a massive stress fracture along the hull which was looking none too good.


Nova soon heard Siphon's voice again.

"We've been boarded by a number of wraith, and several areas are exposed to space. I was tracking a pair of Wraith moving towards an area not far from you, they appear to be hunting Sho and Caitlin. Keep following the corridor your in til the end, then branch off to your right and you should find the girls. Hopefully you'll be able to intercept the wraith first though."



Helia placed a hand on Caitlin's shoulder.

"That might work, except I don't think that's gas. I think the room is venting atmosphere somewhere slowly. We don't have much time."



Crap. Then that means there's a hull breach there somewhere, probably small if the room isn't exposed to space. If your where I think you are now, I'd advise spending as little time there as possible, that section of hull could blow out at any time. We've got more company ... It's Coraxus!

"All right, then tell us what we need to do." She's moderately relieved the noise is environmental and not a Wraith, but only slightly, given that losing atmosphere is bad.

It's where the 'wake the hell up' buttons are. We won't be in there long, promise. There's a bit of a mental cheer as he mentions Coraxus showing up. Great! Maybe he can help get the monkeys off our back. How're the shields? And did you find Nova?

Yeah, I'm sending him your way. Shields are barely there, more incoming darts, but the hive is obliterated. I think I might be able to reinforce the shield in your section, standby.



A moment later, the shield in the room sparked, then grew more noticable as power to it increased.


Helia watched for a moment, then nodded.

"Alright, over on the right side wall there should be some control panels. You'll need to operate them as I read off if the pods are stable enough to release them, can you manage that?"

Nova didn't even respond the comm was dead as he ran off in the direction that Siphon said. His steps were as silent as the death that creeped up upon the wraiths that were hunting the girls. With his full katana drawn and demon blood boining in his veins he knew that today was a bad day to endanger his friends.

'Kay. That would be to the Nova remark. Shields would be good, yes. She still flinches as they spark up, but it's good to see them active, especially since it looked like she was going to be running around in there. They're looking better. Thanks, babe!

"Roger that. Anything I need to know besides push the candy-coated button?" She waits for Helia's answer and then heads in, but not before a brief warning of "Keep an eye out for Shade...Nova. He's headed our way." She grins a little at the captain. "He might look scary, but he's one of the good guys." And she pops into the room, heading for the indicated panels.

((And I only say Nova's going to look scary because she doesn't know if he'll be manifesting anything or, y'know, covered in Wraith blood *laughs* She obviously doesn't think he's scary looking normally.))

"Push shields to max and prepare for multiple impacts. Launch fighters and move to intercept. Bring point defence weapon systems online and begin tracking targets. Open fire as soon as they're in range."

Corax swings around to face a viewscreen and opens several communication channels.

"Graevus, Vulkan, Lilith. Take a shuttle and head for that Ancient ship. See if they could use some help."
"Gotcha."
"On our way."
"Shotgun."

Smaller turrets and missile batteries appear out of hatches and flicker into life, while swarms of fighters pour out of the ship's hangars and move to face the oncoming darts. A shuttle slips away from the main group with an escort of two fighters, and moves hopefully unnoticed towards the ancient ship. After dropping briefly to let the fighters out, the shields flare up in prepartion for the incoming darts.

Caitlin chuckled a bit at Helie's comment. "You don't think atmosphere counts as a gas?" She asked, then shook her hand in dismissal, indicating it was a rhetorical question. "I can handle a console, no worries." She says as she rolls over to one, still smiling.

"It's venting out, not in. Air pressure is changing too, not good. And it's looking like section one of pods is stable enough to release, go ahead there. Same with section two, that's you Caitlin. Section three ... crap, section three doesn't exist anymore."


If she was surprised by Sho's remark about a potential newcomer, she didn't show it. Probably she was more worried about the pods, one section which no longer seemed to exist.



It wasn't long before Nova found the pair of Wraith he was looking for. They had been joined by three more, and were in the process of drawing their weapons, heading towards a room that seemed to be already occupied ...



The sheer number of darts coming at Corax's ship probably would have made most other commanders nervous. Corax wasn't most others though, and neither was his crew. They knew their jobs well, and when an order was given, it was executed yesterday. That being said, the darts hadn't a prayer of getting past the shields, let alone the weapon systems. However, that didn't appear to be the problem.

A number of darts were breaking off to attack the Alveran ship, and still more of them had broken off in what seemed to be a landing formation.


And then suddenly, Siphon's voice came over Corax's comm systems.

"Coraxus this is Siphon if you are getting this then please respond."



In the meantime, Vulkan and his shuttle had managed to dock. As they did though, the group would notice massive chunks of hull missing from the ship, including several areas that still had sparking power conduits that had been severed in whatever cataclysm had ripped open the hull.

"Right. Panel...panel...got it!" She hurries over, wanting to get in and get this done as soon as possible so they can go back to having this section sealed off. Glancing at Helia, she frowns just a little. "Hey, let's do what we can for those that are still around, aye? Get them out of here and give 'em a chance."

"Do a quick scan of the ship for all non-registered non-Tiberion lifeforms. Make sure none of those Wraith got on board."

"All fighters, get after those darts. Split into two groups and reinforce the Kara and the Ancient ship. Get a message to the Kara and request landing clearance for our fighters. If she's boarded we may need to assist on foot."

"Recieving you Siphon, this is Coraxus. I've sent a team over to the Ancient ship to assist you. Be advised, you have multiple incoming darts. My fighters are moving to intercept."
