Huh, now how'd I miss this... Meeeeeebbe he's going to incorporate this as a side scenario when you are beaten in Unholy Sanctuary? Where you'll have to run and hide ala Amnesia? (wishful thinking mode active)

If it looks like anything, it looks more like the once beaten struggle mode that you'd get in Paperheads. Except it looks more like it's a hide and ambush your captor mini-game than a struggle out of binds and run.

I'm not sure if anyone here has looked at the blog recently or just didn't feel the need to mention it but there's a download link to what looks like an Unholy Sanctuary novel.

Can't seem to get it open though, needs a password and i can't see it on the blog anywhere, that or im just blind.

The password is in a file for people who purchased or have the game. Its all in text so if you can't read Japanese there is no point in trying to open it.

I don't know if anyone has been checking on this game, but on new years there was a picture that says Unholy Jail 2014. Now is that picture meant to tell us its coming eventually (which we sort of knew based on the demo) or that its out now?

I think he said he was working on it and that it would be out sometime in 2014.

Oooooh, sorry. Since Unholy Sanctuary has been on sale for some time now, I just assumed that if you were looking for a recent version of a game it had to be for Holy Jail. My fault.

Well, as you can probably now tell the most recent versions are on sale at DLSite and are not available on his site. You might still be able to find the last full version of the non-complete version there, but that's about it.

The use of jumping to avoid certain projectiles, that extra vertical space you can use.. it's just awesome. Of why can't more games be like this :(

Sorry if it has been covered earlier, but is there a secret level (even 2) in Unholy Sanctuary? After beating a game, in the portal room there are sections 'b' for levels 4 and 5. Those are however to high to jump to them.

From the layout it seems like you would have to go upstairs at the end of level 3 to get there. However the path is blocked by door which I have not found means of unlocking. Is there some secret to it, or is this for future updates?


ps. wth with ULMF forums recently, loading page freezes entire browser...

it has been mentioned, yes, but I'm too lazy to go find and link so...

First, you have to have beaten the game at least once. Midway through stage 3 (when you're going down the shaft with all the leeches) there's a door to the right at the bottom you go through. This is a short path that leads to a dead end, but unlocks the upper path you mentioned at the end of stage 3.

Keep in mind this route is the hard route (and features segments from the 'complete' demo he released for free a year or so ago.) and includes a new boss. Beating the game on this route leads to the 'true' end and unlocks a few more bonus options for when you start a game.

Update to Unholy Jail has been posted on his blog, but I can't find the password, if anyone knows it please let me know.

A quick google translate says that it's a ten-digit code in the 1.21 manual in the bottom right corner by the update history. All I've got is 1.20, so no luck.

Looks like its just a demo for the gameplay. There is only one enemy and he doesn't even move. It also looks like the art isn't ready because he only has some placeholder images.
