I want to improve myself when it comes to writing H content and drawing, so I figured I'd start something to help with both in my free time. I'm essentially making an engine for easily creating visual novels, but with an action RPG side to it for battles.
So far I've only started working on the battle engine. It was initially meant to be more simple, but I ended up doing a sort of pseudo 3d punch-out sort of thing.
You can download a mockup of it here. (add h www)

(there is no actual fighting yet)
Hold Up/down to shift the view
Press left/right to weave,
Press space to attack (changes with the direction)
+/- and A/D to test the enemy's depth and movement.
Some screenshots (*sigh*, add the h)

I haven't quite decided how it's going to work, yet. I could either make it so you can fight multiple enemies at once, or design it around individual enemies. I could make it so where you hit is dependent on that target on the ground, meaning the enemy's movement would be a factor, or I could just make it so you aim at parts of the enemy with left/right attacks. Since the enemy won't be animated, I'll have transparent graphics of shields to represent where the enemy is blocking, graphics of hands going towards the player on a particular side to represent the enemy trying to grab the player etc. And perhaps it will cut to CGs or even animations when the enemy does something to the player mid-battle. I don't know yet.
As for the visual novel side of things, I figure it will mostly be sketchy pictures like this, maybe more detailed.

I'll just be doing quick content, so it's not going to be some sort of extremely polished product. However some CGs will be more detailed than others, and hopefully the quality will go up as I learn to draw faster.
The rest will just be text that takes up the entire screen, probably. In general, the play style I'm going for will be sort of like Thief and Sword. The game will be free, and after I finish the engine and start working on the game, I'll probably just release the game maker file so that other people can make custom content, if they want to.
If you have any feedback that isn't related to graphics, or suggestions for what you'd like to see in it, let me know.
