The soft crunching of the plant that the workers were munching on - it hadn't resembled any of the plants that Aki had observed along the journey here - was the only audible sound right up until Aki suddenly broke the tension with a pair of thunderous barks from her handguns. The bullets ripped through the air, thudded into the carapace of the nearest of the oblivious soldier bugs, and caused gushes of yellow ichor. The massive bug hissed, teetered, and then flopped onto its side, legs and mandibles twitching. The other two soldiers hissed, turning towards her and starting to crawl after her, spitting globs of dark yellow fluid at her when they got close. The globs missed her, landing against a rock next to her and a scraggly tree behind her; both began to expand immediately, and though she couldn't feel them they looked extremely sticky.

The worker drones kept on feeding, seemingly unconcerned by the sudden attack. The soldiers were following her, but not doing so with any great haste, leaving Aki with the opportunity some leeway in deciding how the engagement would progress from there.

The background noise of the worker's feeding slowly faded away as Aki focused heavily on aiming her weapons. The still loud barks of her silenced pistols broke that trance and with no small amount of pride, Aki saw the first enemy of her adventure in these lands fall! This excitement was violently doused as the two soldier suddenly spit globs of acid at her! She could her the sizzling of the rocks around her from where the blobs had missed! Cursing silently to herself about how she didn't expect them to attack from afar, Aki dashes backwards, away from the soldiers, to another rock outcrop. Once in this new cover, she once again peaks out and falls into a minor trance compared to the first shots. [Moves at least 10 feet to gain Skirmisher]

She aims at the closest soldier once again, lining up the barrels before pulling the triggers, and then quickly switches over to the other soldier and pulls the triggers once again, letting her barrels belch fire and death! [Rapid Fire]

Her pistols barked again, and Aki's shots still hit the mark perfectly. One pair of shots hit the first beetle's head, the other blew through a line of legs; it dropped, shivering and oozing onto the craggy ground. The other two bullets both managed to hit their target in the head, the second causing it to pop and the beetle's body to plop over, a splatter of assorted types of ooze and insect gore staining the ground around it. The last of the soldier beetles felled, Aki was free to look over the still dutifully gnawing worker beetles, which hadn't apparently noticed that their protectors had been dispatched. There were still ten of them, and they were still tearing off chunks of the big plant they'd uprooted, which by now was nearly half devoured, though it had been partially eaten when she had arrived.

If she wanted to start her harvesting, she could try to grab one check if she would rather start her harvesting with either the jelly or the eggs, or just pick whichever she got first. How she wanted to approach her first beetle was also up to her, though she could easily leave this crew to their own devices and go up towards the mine entrance instead of starting her harvesting here and now.

Aki was only able to realize the effectiveness of her shots after she had pulled the triggers for the last time, when both soldiers fell one after the other. She released a breath she hadn't even realized she had been holding since she had started to aim. She shivered as she finally let her hold over her nervousness go. She had done it! She hadn't even got hurt! "Yes! Haha!" She jumped and celebrated before looking over at the workers and realizing they were almost done with what they were eating! She didn't have much time to do this. At first she quickly looked at the area, searching for any other dead vegetation she could use to increase the amount of time she had to harvest, but it only took that glance to realize there was nothing suitable in the immediate area. The seconds were already ticking down on the clock. She didn't know what the workers would do once finished being distracted, hopefully they would just wander in search of some more food and she could snatch one, but they could also try and swarm her, though she wasn't too confident that would happen. It didn't change that she wanted to get as much done as she could before they were done.

She holstered her heavily customized revolvers, and ran back to the workers, slowing as she got closer. She hesitated before fast walking over to one that was slightly separated from the group, the one eating the roots. She walked up behind it and scooped down to pick it up, holding it in the middle so it couldn't bite her. She moved it so she could see which type of worker it was and then quickly backed away from the group. Once she felt like she was sufficiently far away, she laid the worker down onto its back, one hand holding it down and the other quickly gathered either a jar if it was a jelly worker, or a bag if it was an egg worker and then sat that item down nearby. Once that was done, she gently grabbed the rod of the worker. At the same time, a blush spread over her cheeks as she started to stroke it! She started slow, remembering that they might try to bite if she hurt them, but very quickly she started to speed up! Her hand rapidly went up and down the shaft, brushing the tip of it each time she did a stroke, trying to get the insect to cum! The blush rapidly got stronger suddenly! Wait, nononono, not cum! This wasn't sexual! It was just extracting some material from them!

The huge beetle squirmed as Aki picked it up, trying to free itself, but she was much bigger and had no trouble carrying it off to where she could harvest from it. It wiggled its legs at her once flipped over, trying to flip itself back over, but she could easily keep it balanced such that she could get her collection item out - in this case a jar - before starting to "collect" from it. The one that she had grabbed proved to be one of the workers from which she could harvest the jelly, the "males" for lack of a better way to describe it. The dead one had seemingly shriveled in this respect as well; as she began to stroke the bug's jelly-depositor it rapidly engorged, going from scarcely more than an nub to more than eight inches of firm, squirming rod with a cone-shaped pointed tip bearing a distinct ridge where that tip began and a series of smaller ridges that sort of served as joints in it along its length.

The appendage squirmed around in her grasp as she stroked it, though it did so less and less as she sped up her jerking in the effort to extract the jelly that it was carrying. By the time she'd reached her max pace it was barely moving barring occasional twitches of excitement, and the thing's legs were waving less frantically. After a few moments it began to thrum in her grip, just as Haley had described, and she was able to place the tip against the jar to receive the oncoming rush. At first a glob appeared, gently oozing into the jar, but another moment later and the spurting started. She could see the slightly transparent appendage bulge and change color as the jelly traveled up its length, and when the first bulge reached the tip the jelly sprayed out in one long stream that tapered off as it ran out, only to resume as the next bulge reached the tip. Her first subject only managed to fill the jar up about a third of the way up before the shots tapered off, however, leaving her without even a full jar for her troubles.

The beetle she'd just milked started wriggling again, the appendage she'd stroked rapidly shrinking back to its original size. The stuff was a bit of a brighter green than that which Haley had shown Aki, with hints of blue that made it more of a turquoise color. It smelled sweet and pleasant, with a hint of something like freshly cut grass. There were a few globs of it clinging to her fingers, but the first beetle she'd grabbed seemed to be dry for now, leaving Aki to release it or kill it, or whatever else she might think to do with it, and go and grab another. However she might try to think about it, what she had done was exactly like giving a more conventional cock a handjob, and as a result she had accrued a modicum of excitement for doing something like that with a creature like this... And she was going to have to do a lot more if she wanted to get enough out of this to make this trip monetarily worthwhile.

With how big a live worker was compared to its dead counterpart, it was surprisingly easy to hold it down with one hand. One other thing that Aki unconsciously acknowledged as surprising was how large the worker's shaft grew at full mast. It had started out as little more than just a nub and if she didn't have Haley previously showing her where the jelly depositor was located, she might have had some trouble finding it, but it was impossible to ignore at its full eight inches. Aki's blush refused to go away as she jerked her hand up and down the full mast depositor. It was definitely embarrassing to have to be doing this, but there was a seed deep inside of her of arousal. The jelly tasted like it smelled, for the most part; it resembled a crushed jelly of some sort of berry, and she was likely reminded of lucking such from her fingers after breakfast as her tongue darted out to gather up the few globules clinging to her fingers. It was sweet, albeit with an aftertaste slightly resembling celery, and clung to her tongue and the inside of her mouth, filling her mouth momentarily with the flavor. It tasted good! Really good! Her mind went back to Angela's, to one of favorite snacks of jelly on toast. The warm jelly radiated a short burst of pleasant warmth throughout her belly. Even with only the few globs of jelly that she had licked up, the taste was like a brief explosion of flavor in her mouth and made her want to try some more of the jelly! But she stopped herself. Once away from the group, she held it down and grabbed her collection item just like last time. What was different compared to last time, was Aki had made up her mind on something. Just using her hand was taking too long and Haley's words advice that licking or sucking on the rod helped speed up the extraction process rang out in her head. With a technique that would allow her to quickly extract what she needed from the workers, Aki settled into a steady rhythm. The next worker proved to have more of the jelly, but its member acted much like the ovipositor of the egg carrier when she started lapping at it with her tongue.
