Every time I check back into this thread it's just the dev releasing one tech demo minigame after another with the occasional random CG. I have no idea what this game is even supposed to be at this point

That's because dev don't want to spoil the main contents of the game. He released some early staged at first, and then only mini game with some random CG so when people play full game, they won't get spoiled.

Kinda optimistic view on it. To me it just feels like he wants a personality cult where the game itself being developed is secondary, hence all those Alps images and minigames with a drip-feed of CGs even though people are paying him to develop something new. It's been like 2 years since this game got announced and I haven't seen a substantial demo yet.

I may be completely off the mark though since I'm not following this closely but it feels to me like these patreon/ci-en/enty devs wanna get a new support model going where they slowly move away from it being focused on getting a game made and more and more about just being about the author doing whatever he wants with a faint promise of a completed game being released eventually

Hmm, not completely agree, but can't object your opinion either.

Iirc what makes alp succesful was the live2d scene that is great, everything else is just good/enough.

I must say I kinda lost the track of time. It's november again already.

I didn't even think about this until you brought it up. I've always assumed he was in the process of making a game since the demo I tried a year or two ago seemed to me like the foundation of a more actiony Alps game. But it seems as though it's mostly been mini games being released?

I use Cien to keep up with this kinda stuff, but now that I think about it I've never actually seen any development work previewed under this Author. I always assumed it was just being paywalled (Which I usually don't have a problem with)

Really would be a shame if he hasn't actually developed anything yet. My gut feeling tells me you're probably right though.

That is my optimistic thinking as well.
Like in the full game all the mini-games will be interconnected areas, and in these demos he just releases them separatedly with some not-final assets or whatever.
We'll see.
