Does the new guy use a weapon or does he fight with fists like smash boy?

In the video he's using different kinds of weapons with different movesets.
But they look fairly rough around the edges. Basically just the same different fighting moves from SmashBoy but just done with a weapon.

He has five different weapons: sword and hook, lance, ax, staff, and bow.

I'm happy that zzinzinz remembers stuff from the older games; it's good to see the college girls again. Do they count towards the total list of enemies? It would put the total number to 37 out of 40 if they did. That would mean zzinzinz is very close to finishing all the enemies, but Trent from the March progress report still hasn't been completed. Does that also mean the guy will never actually fight the queen of the underworld? She only appeared in a CG which may or may be used.

They technically count as one. The "Black gal" as he calls her is a special boss that calls in the others in one of the attacks.

Same here.
The gal on the right was my favorite enemy from oneshota, so it's great to finally see her again in higher resolution.

After darkwhite1602 gave me a hard time over griping about the lack of feet content in ExcessM games on the Smash Boy thread, I feel vindicated with this month's progress report because the FINAL BOSS uses her foot on the player. It's not that I prefer feet over other content; I just want a balance in stuff.

That puts the total number at 35 out of 40 then although I still reserve one slot for Trent, the plant boss which was briefly mentioned in the March progress report, and two for an office lady and a girl in a swimsuit since he always finds a way to put those characters in his games. I wish black gal had better attacks in the original game as opposed to doing the same move twice plus one other attack, but at least she will come back with a new move.

personally i liked the h attack of the knife user in smashboy, i like it more with shoe than foot, personally
 
Meh personally, I feel like actual sex is more fun to look at then foreplay.
Foreplay can be fun, but it's the circumstances that matter the most for them.

Like there's a hentai that had a really fun milking handjob scene where the guy's on his knees from being exhausted doggystyling a girl, and another girl jumps on his back pulls it out and starts playing with it.

I feel like situationally, foreplay can be erotic but on it's own, as the main dish it's boring. Especially if there's no follow up and that's usually the case when every enemy has one animation, but that's just my opinion.

Release is scheduled for 2019, but no further details.
Considering how far he is in the game I'd assume a release in Q4. Most of the enemies are done, but everything else seems to be still at the beginning considering the demonstration videos are all done in SmashBoy enviromnent.

I think it's good to have a mix-up of the two, each enemy having one or two fore-play scene(s) AND a straight up sex scene.

The theme and tone of Excess M is not foreplay; it's bullying. Climax is a loss condition, and the females are basically bullying him into failure. Parade Buster and Smash Boy have strayed away from that concept by having climax cause massive damage instead of failure, but the new game will enforce a penalty similar to Kariyume where the player's performance will suffer if he climaxes too much. I guess that makes sense since a little boy probably shouldn't have that kind of energy for repeated sexual encounters. I liked that the primary attack wasn't intercourse because that would make it a harem game where the secret goal was having sex with every female character in the game. I think intercourse should have been a protected move like it was in the older games when only the bosses did it, but zzinzinz is having more regular enemies do it. It's strange that we seem to care about this game the most since it's a proper sequel to a game zzinzinz made several years ago, and it shows that none of us forgot the older games either.

Will there be one of those cool black knight things in this one like in all the others? Smash boy didn't have one but since it looks like this is more based off the first two games I was wondering if there was one. I guess what I'm really asking is will the MC be guided by a shadow man with artillery weapons in his arm?
 
Man, I hope the naginata girls and their boss from Kariyume makes a comeback.

The bosses animation (forced doggystyle, with naginata girl standing behind boy pushing in) was one of the hottest things i've ever seen.
