Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

I love celestial Phenomena. The Leonids are supposed to be super bright for us in North America around 11pm to 4AM EST tonight/tomorrow morning. Get out and watch them!

it's supposed to be the brightest they've been in recorded history, with a record number hitting our atmosphere. We're passing through the densest part of the cluster. I'm so excited! *puts on Nerd hat*
Yay Leonids!

Boo cloud cover.

*cries* I missed it. I mentioned this and one of my friends was like "no it's tomorrow!" And I didn't check.

Sadface =(

And the peak was actually 4AM PST. not EST. Meaning it would have been at 7AM for me. =/

Fucking fog.

Though i did get to meet a cutie who works at GSU's planetarium. ^^ I love meeting cute boys.

It's a fair cop.

In my defence I probably shouldn't have turned peasant 3 into a backstabbed peasant. He got better after the respawn tho. Spies

"But we forgot our revolvers."

"Dead ringers?"

"Those too."

I love being back in Japan. It's still not quite home, but it's close. I've got a nice place on the beach, but I haven't yet figured out enough Kanji to use the heater properly, so it's cold as fuck. Still... good to be back.

Long time no see Hope.

Also, I love the word fuck! It's a brilliant word, and I actually use much more often in real life than I do on the internet.

swearing is over rated, the less frequently you swear the more it means when you do.

Indeed that's true Nunu. But... military culture. Swearing is just common words. It comes more down to tone on the impact you'll have.

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

Oddly enough I rareley swear, at least in my actual speech. Most of my fellow soldiers thought I was strange because of it. Did make it pretty easy for them to know when I was angry though.

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

Yeah, I don't understand people saying "It only means you have a limited vocabulary."
...No it doesn't, it means I know all the words you do, plus fuck

I use it commonly in speech just for emphasis and will commonly catch myself saying it to teachers and seniors by accident. Even in the smallest conversation talking about interpretation of old stories, I'll say something like "Well, they see him as the ideal warrior, but I took his misogyny as a personal character flaw. I don't think they all just fucking hate women or something." And then I freeze asking myself whether or not I just said what i did, then just have to go on pretending I didn't notice

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

I love my two 4GB Flash Drives :D

One has all my school/gaming stuff on it, the other has my 'other stuff' on it :p

I mostly love that I have them at this particular point because tomorrow my step-dad wants to work on my computer, and this way he doesn't 'accidentally' find something, as he's prone to do.
What's funny, though, is I'm more worried about him finding my uTorrent stuff >.<

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

Military culture indeed, Sin. Actually it's interesting how it works. As an officer you're not supposed to swear all that much, so you have to watch how much you swear around certain officers (mostly one's superiors). Then again, swearing in front of the enlisted seems to let them know that we're of a similar mindset in some ways, and let's them know you're not completely full of shit all the time.

So I never swear around the CO, and I sometimes let out a curse or two around my people. Still, you don't want to curse all the time or, like Nunu said, it loses the effectiveness.

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

It's about the same with NCO's in the army, actually. If we're around the lower enlisted it's usually okay to an extent, but the 1SGT, SGM, XO, or Co will get on you for it. Especially my last 1SGT, she hated me.

Re: The Love Thread (Or Just Warms and Fuzzies)

Yeah, on my leadership course one of the instructors was saying its not too good an idea to swear in front of the troopies. Before he went on to say "but fuck it cause we do anyway."

Overseas my Section Commander, Platoon Commander, and CO all swore in front of us. Hell, my Company Sergeant Major said 'fuck' or some derivative of it 106 times in a 5 minute dismissal parade back in Pett.

Youtube, part 1/2.

I love Youtube because you can watch anything from random gameplay clips to music videos to walkthroughs to full episodes of animes and tv shows to random videos, comic or dramatic.

I love Youtube because it is completely free, and has no restrictions on its content.

I love Youtube because it is an easy place to quickly upload some video you want to show someone, then just as easy to throw someone the link.

End part 1. See "The Hate Thread" for part 2.
