...

I just sat in silence and stared at an empty reply box for 20 minutes. But I guess that sums it up. Though Toxic said it well, and those words can speak for many of us.

No doubts about how important she was for our community, making jokes, giving her opinion about many different threads. She help us to learn many lessons and between all we grow in the years that we were together. Im sure that many of us will remember her as a great person for the rest of our lives.

Thanks Taylor for had come here to inform us, i will pray for her and my most deepest condolences to all of you.

...I'd like to will my body to rage. It'd be better than this melancholy. I'd like to post fuck in capitals, all emphasis, the largest size the forum can manage, hell, maybe pave the way for others to respond with anger and not need to feel someone reach inside and tear out their gut. My hands won't do it. My mind finds the action too selfishly disrespectful to the tragedy of the occurrence.

Fuck.

Re: Member Announcements Thread

A lot of what's going through my head right now has already been said, either eloquently or succinctly. Funny, too, how I was just saying Hi in the intro thread last night and I was waiting for "Mind the gap" to crop up.

Thanks, Taylor, for thinking enough of us to let us know. As it was already said, thoughts and prayers go out to you, her, and her family during this time.

And you may not understand it, but know that you'll be welcome here if you need anyone to talk to.

Copper just sent me a message and I... Oh god.

People who can talk better than I have already said everything. This is heartbreaking.

Re: Member Announcements Thread

Hey all! Need some help here...
I have a good idea and pretty much half a business plan. How do I go about getting contacts and building a team without revealing that idea to someone smart enough or resourceful enough to exploit it without me?

Also... Kinda related. Any of you kind lads(or lasses) have expertise in C++?

I was in an accident today. I rolled my car, but I'm not hurt. My seatbelt saved my life.

I wanted to perform that song for the memory of a friend before, but I found out quickly I can't play and sing along without crying, despite how cheery the music itself is or how completely masculine and unmoving I originally am.

Holy crap, I need to check this more often. makes all the things in my life that I think are so bad look rather mild in comparison. Sorry to hear that from both Chibs and Taylor. Wow, I'm staying off the roads as much as I can now...

Mentioned in the Giddy, but I have just won NaNoWriMo. I reward myself with sleep, knowing I have a "book" that's gotten a huge chunk taken out of the "when will it be done" column, and, by the end of next week, Dynasty Warriors 7.

Hey, I just figured I'd post this here for those of you that live in the UK... The UK intelligence agency GCHQ is looking for new employees, and you have to crack code.

I'm not an expert, but it looks to be a standard hex grid, the answer is probably a string of letters (most likely a sentence.)

Just figured it's probably a good job, if any of you have some decent computer experience.

Re: Member Announcements Thread

Yeah, so I decided to pop in for a while. Got some time now that I didn't have last year.

Lots of stuff happened: Graduated from school, went to the Norwegian Army's selection process to try to become an officer. There were over 4500 people trying for it, but only around 200 free spots. Unfortunately that didn't work out, I passed all the tests and all, but didn't score high enough. By the time the whole thing was over, there were only about 340 people or something left, including me. I was one of the few who completed the entire thing but got sent home on the same bus as the ones who actually did it. So.... Close, but no sigar.

That was the toughest and hardest thing I had ever done at the time. The bar on what is tough and hard has been raised a lot since then. That was this summer.

Then, although I was extremely demotivated and on the verge of being depressed, I tried for AJK, Artilleriets Jeger Kommando. Roughly translates to The Artillery's Hunter Commando, or Forward Air Controllers. They are under the command of the Localization Battery and their primary mission is to lead artillery deep behind enemy lines. Anyways, I tried for it thinking "What the hell, let's just go for it." There were over a hundred recruits for the selection process, but they only wanted 14 people. The tests this time were tougher physically, among other things we didn't get any food for 2 days, then had to eat a raw fish with guts and all, but you couldn't throw up, because then they made you eat your vomit...

Anyways, long story short: I am back, and have joined one of the Norwegian Military's Special Forces, so hey :D

And soon I'll be going home for Christmas. It'll be good to go down south again. Haven't seen the sun for almost a week, it teases you just below the horizon before it's gone again :(

Yeah, I can see where that would keep you a bit busy there, Zoto. Kudos on your making it in, given how grueling it sounded. Good luck on that front and make sure to stay safe, man.
