In today's news...

Re: In today's news...

Quickly, lets destroy the entire world as we know it so i don't have to pay taxes!

Re: In today's news...

International law is like a bowl of wax fruit. It looks nice but is pretty much just for funsies.

When ya try to use it like the real thing, it gives you a tummy ache.

Re: In today's news...

Bunch of lawyers telling us this? What's their angle?

I trust lawyers less than a baby could throw them.

Re: In today's news...

...Are we sure this wasn't posted by the Onion or something? It's not uncommon for newspapers to pick up these ridiculous stories after all...

...right?

Re: In today's news...

I went reading that OPPT-IN site.

" They want freedom from the old enslavement system and a choice to live their lives according to their own free will and to exercise their own free will choices."

"The One People’s Public Trust itself consists of every person on the planet, the planet itself and the Creator."

So... zero choice to join them. No authority figures... it's anarchists. I fucking hate anarchists. So... lawyer anarchists are like, close to the bottom of my shit list.

Re: In today's news...

From a lawyer point of view, which I use often (I swear I missed my true calling), I do argue that there's technically no rules binding people to stay orderly and participate in society. Then I point out that trying to live like that will result in a quick death in the near future, which is much less desirable than having to follow rules, even if the rules are stupid. It's not a matter of law, but of survival.

Nope. They did some digging and as it turns out, governments were corporations, and even individual people were corporations under international law.
Then they decided to raise charges against anything they considered 'the system', and nobody tried to stop them, so now officially everything is different.
More info here, not at mainstream media but I doubt mainstream media would report on ways to legally dodge all taxes.

Seems pretty serious from what they're saying, and this OPPT organisation appears to be willing to offer help with the whole tax evasion and 'bring down the system' thing too.

Hmm, had a look at that site, just a quick glance really, and it seems like another one of those "Here's something that sounds too good to be true, but we have a bunch of words so you know it's true, so give us money." things. I could be wrong though. Like I said, just had a quick glance before I felt my brain cells contemplating mass suicide and stopped.

And like Sinful pointed out: "The One People’s Public Trust itself consists of every person on the planet, the planet itself and the Creator."

This statement is false, as an organization consists only of those who choose to be a part of it. Forcing others to be a part of your organization is... well, slavery. Don't know what creator they're talking about here either. And... The planet isn't really a living being according to our definitions of life, so it can't be part of any organization. It's kind of busy being a part of our solar system anyway, not to mention hosting a few billion parasitic bipedal primates. Kind of a full-time job that.

And besides... I'm quite happy paying taxes. They pay for things like fire fighters who save lives, (and here in Canada at least) hospitals and doctors, and the little things like asphalt on streets, snow clearing in the winter, garbage collection, and a great number of other things many people take for granted.

I really dislike, on principle, people who think they shouldn't have to pay taxes or that taxes are unfair. Yes, in some countries, they are unfair, but I think the taxes in the richer countries of the world are more or less fair. Perhaps they aren't perfect, but then, nothing really is. I'd rather have a somewhat imperfect system than no system at all.

Anyway, if they're really telling the truth about foreclosing governments and crap, I'd like to see the court documents detailing these foreclosures before I believe a word they're spouting.

Re: In today's news...

As far as I know, their issue is with the top end of governments being corrupt and capitalism exploiting everyone for a few people's profit.
I didn't look that far into it, but there seems to be one thing everyone forgets

1. Laws only work because they're enforced
2. The one enforcing these laws is the government
3. Government is not going to enforce a law saying there is no more government

In other news, cybernetics. Now wired directly into the nervous system

Living in society generally provides what's called "tacit consent" when regarding it's laws and rules; that is to say if you don't like the laws and rules of the place you live you have every right to fuck off to somewhere else where there are less or different rules and/or laws.

Yeah, same thing. I was simply in an extremist mood when I wrote that. If I checked right after getting home, it was residual road rage :p

Yeah, it's the onion, but it's the best laugh I've had in awhile.

Re: In today's news...

Apparently North Korea is threatening a preemptive nuclear strike against the US because the UN is passing sanctions of some sort.

What else is new.

The simple fact that he's using nukes as a preemptive strike threat is enough for me. Proportional response? A-doy, what's dat? Someone shoot this fuckwad in the head already, he's one of the retards that shouldn't be allowed to live.

Clearly he's not heard the word of advice to not go full retard.

But ya, if he actually tries to do that, I can just bet the rest of the world will tell him to GTFO one way or another. :/ There's only so much crap N.Korea can try for so much.

Re: In today's news...

NK also terminated their non-attacking agreement with South Korea today.
