Re: Games Discussion Thread

Yeah but the documentaries you can usually find uploaded somewhere on a site or torrent. As for any specail armor, usually if a game does that, theres a higher tier of armor in the game that can override it, so its not so bad.
Ye missed the point of my displeasure at putting such things in the game for certain buyers only. And you ignored my other points about the pricing.

Well, let's see what's happens then. Still looks like a shooter that's relying heavily on the nostalgia factor, chauvinism, and quirky one liners. Will it actually be good, or will we have another "Too Human" on our hands? Time will tell, but I ain't holdin my breath.

But really at this point they don't even need to make a good game. Just something somewhat entertaining with flashy and pretty trailers and everyone will flock to the game stores and give the developers and producers gobs and gobs of cash.

in all due respect Sin, I've waited years for this to happen. I'm keeping a positive Idea that this return will be awesome. Dukes been gone for a loooong time, Sam Recently came back to get serious but it wasn't too great. Hopefully, this is going to be a hit. Notice i said hope.

Yeah, it didn't really look anything special at all. Only the "I'd still hit it" part made me laugh.

Ya want a expensive chess set? How about a recreation of Wizard's Chest from Harry Potter from movie 1. I dunno if it was actually the prop or a more expensively designed recreation but it was 500 bucks at the expadition store x,x

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Hey if you enjoy the game, you enjoy the game. I just don't see what the huge deal is except that people have been waiting 11 years for it. It's not like the majority of the series has even been that good.

The game is also trying as hard as it can to push me away. I mean they've already set up Duke to be a bigger and more selfish prick than Kratos ("Hey, I'm the only one who can save the world but I won't lift a finger until the hot women start getting taken") as well as riding on a magic carpet of chauvinism.

Enjoy what you will, but when someone uses big bold blue letters that punch the eyeballs as you roll down the screen, expect me to comment on it for or against your post. Also don't let my taste in games determine yours, I'm just commenting on the glowing neon post.

Yes, but I don't remember Duke being such a selfish prick in his earlier games. Anyway... I've made my point.

He's always been a selfish prick from what I remember. I think allot of people love to hate him, i love his shitty one liners. So terrible, but i haven't heard them in years.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Really really glad I stopped in to Gamestop today. Found out about the Tactics Ogre they're releasing for the PSP and the tarot deck that you get with pre-orders (What can I say? I like nifty free stuff *laughs*) and had a gift card. Figured I'd use it on DA2 when it comes out and figured "What the hell? I spend it now, I spend it later." So I tell the kid behind the counter that I want to add on to my reservation. "Phone number?" I tell him. "Dragon Age 2 for the 360." "Wait, what?! No. No, no, no." So I got him to change it over to the PS3 version and he made a note about it. If they give me hell, I still have my original receipt for the first bit o' cash I put down on it, showing that I preordered it WELL before the Jan 11th cut off date and it was their screw up. And thankfully, that doesn't affect any of the free and bonus content, since the Exiled Prince is SE content and the other stuff is with any preorder.

Still, that would have been hellishly annoying if I'd not found out about it prior to the release date.

Hrm... a new tactics ogre game huh?

I really should try to finish Ogre Battle 64 though. Trouble is, I've done the start of the game so many times I can't stand to do the start of the game, but because it's due to moving to a new comp etc. I can't grab an older save file.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I'm not sure if it's new...hold on *grabs magazine* It's Tactics Ogre: Let us cling together. Article says it's a remake. I think they're pulling a FFT on it.

I also want to check out Hunted: the Demon's Forge. My friend and I need more co-op games and this one looks awesome.

And I also love how Playstation magazine doesn't bother with a write-up on Dynasty Warriors 7. They post the name of the game, producers, one screenshot with the caption "Apparently there's no die in dynasty." I gotta give them props for that, really. I mean, what more can you say about that series, other than mentioning the new characters and timeline related stuffs.

Heh.

I should poke at DW: Strikeforce some more, but really, it seemed like they decided to be more multi player at the expense of game quality. The missions were just all straight forwards, there was no triggered events mid mission that caused the battlefield to change.

It might get better after the first few missions, but really, I'm fighting the yellow turbans, and they're not hitting me with wtf magics? It's not right D:

According to my friend, I need to start playing Strikeforce so I can hate the floating Yellow Turbans as much as she does.

Ugh.

Ugh.

I'd forgotten about those fucking gits. Trying to find the right altitude in order to attack them as they spam magic.

Ugh.

But yeah, that's piddly stuff. Where's the epic illusions that rout armies?

Hunted: The Demon's Forge does look interesting. I'll be picking it up when the time comes.

As for the "warriors" series (Samurai, Dynasty, so forth) I'm actually looking forward to Warriors: Legends of Troy.

Apparently the hatred is universal...

And yeah, we were looking into Warriors: Legends of Troy, too. Reminds me, I need to see when that comes out.

i tried playing Strikeforce, and im a big Dynasty Warriors type guy. I really disliked it, for the exact reasons you mentioned. I also hated the fact it felt more like Dissidia except with DW slapped on. Yes you can bitch and moan about your FF fandom, but in all honesty, that's exactly what it felt like.
