Someone linked this gameplay of Classic's section of City Escape.

My first thought: Wow, for a sec I coulda swore I saw that in sprites...

EDIT: Also, notice that spot in the end. Yes, that is the spinning 'Mission Cleared' sign before the truck bowls it over.

Here's some stuff on the new Tomb Raider game:

I know it looks like uncharted, but I could care less. Plus I've also been a fan of Tomb Raider.

Game looks good. Didn't realize it wasn't coming out until fall 2012 though. Shame.

Midnight opening for Duke Nukem? That still hasn't been released wherever you live? I've had it since last Thursday.

I told ye, it comes out on Tuesdays here in North America.

And nay, I'm not. I'll probably only rent the game.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

So. Having seen the newest trailers and gameplay footage, I can safely say Battlefield 3 is going to be awesome. They're literally pushing the limits with physics engines. Example: You shoot an RPG at a random tall building, chunks of rubble start falling off that building. Those chunks will damage/kill people. Not to mention the quality of graphics they're bringing to the table will make Battlefield 3 a must have. I can safely say I'm shifting my plans to pre-order MW3 to pre-ordering BF3.

Speaking of which... I found that out the hard way. Some asshat employee at gamestop was talking shit about it. I was too kind to say anything, but fuck what would've happened if some hardcore fan was there.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

for those who enjoyed the game Metro 2033, they're making a sequel (trailer above) titled Metro: Last Light.

I really like the trailer, up there with some of my favorites. (I have a fascination with trailers)

Gotta say, nice teaser. I hope they're not sticking too closely to Metro 2034, though. The book is not exactly video game material. Quite slow paced, lots of pondering. The main character is an old, relatively frail man.

EDIT: Gameplay trailer .

the original metro wasn't very good, it had great potential but squandered all of it.

I'll admit, I've yet to beat it, though I'm rather close to the end, but I really enjoyed it.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Does that include trailer music specifically?
Not specifically. It's about how it all comes together. But if your curious the song from the trailer I posted is "Machine Gun" by Portishead.

They won't be following too closely to the book sequel, as the second game continues the story of Artyom.

My point stands. Artyom appears in the second book, but he's not doing anything glorious. I'd imagine "Metro 2034: Telephone Duty" would kinda suck.

Anyways, the game's not called "Metro 2034" anyway, so my point, while valid, is moot.

Oh yeah, how's the re-release of Ocarina of Time? I believe I read in another thread that you got that.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

It's pretty good so far, though the actual 3D hurts my eyes after awhile. Well, it did yesterday though I'm not sure whether that was because I was tired. I haven't played the original so I can't compare the two, but I'm enjoying it. And I bought Links Awakening from the eShop, which is just as awesome as I remember it being.
