Games Discussion Thread

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Currently hooked on this browser game of pure liquid insanity~.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I knew there was a reason why I left money in the bank even if I didn't know this was coming out yet.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I've been debating too... Damn it, if it's by the guys who localized Recettear...

Oh and also, did anybody pre-order yet? I wanna make sure I have other people to play with before I invest even MORE money on games.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Yeah, it's localised by the same people.

I doubt I'll pre-order it, though I may pick it up. Not sure though because I was assuming you'd be bumrushed by zombies at every turn, making it a real fight or flight game, but from the gameplay trailers I've seen there's only been a couple of zombies at each conflict.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I'd probably be getting it for the 360. I do plan on preordering it though.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

And before I forget...

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I already preorderd battlefield 3, and i will be preordering the old republic, so Dead island may be somewhere on the list.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Got Dino D-Day today. Beyond the fact that it's rather stiff in the form of mouse usage, it seems like one of those silly FPS's you buy for the lulz. Definately worth the discount price for the next few days, but unsure of the full 10 dollars normal price.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

There's almost literally no one ever on though, i couldnt even find servers today
Guess I'm just spiraling for the (k)night

Free Weekend sure has plenty of servers up at the very least.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Dead Island I'll be getting on the 360, so that when I'm done with it I can lend it to a friend in exchange for Space Marine.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

So, I recently bought Darksiders for the PC, as I was itching for a new game and it was dirt cheap. Haven't played that long yet, but I can safely say that it's NOT Legend of Zelda, as many people claim. It's God of War. Or maybe God of War is like Zelda, but a lot more linear?

Re: Games Discussion Thread

I tried Darksiders, really couldn't get into it as the main character moved too fucking slow.

the only difference between the two is that darksiders doesn't have a hyrule field.

it might have the basic combat system and ecenomics of god of war but everything else...

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Oh yeah, I have Starcraft 2 now. Haven't installed it yet though I plan on doing so later.

Pretty much. I found Darksiders to be leaning more towards Zelda than God of War, and this becomes more and more apparent as the game goes on. While basic combat might be the common God of War trend, the game begins to push more and more puzzles that rely on you using inventory items that seem ripped right from Ocarina of Time.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

The difference for me was I thought Zelda was good.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

Cannot wait. Preordered it weeks ago.

Re: Games Discussion Thread

So I played a few matches on Starcraft 2 with a couple of friends earlier against three hard AI opponents. Lost the first match but won the second and third, though I think I was mostly helped up by my friends. Despite that I think I'm getting the hang of the game, I'm getting pretty fast at managing my army though I can get a bit absentminded with my Probes. I think I may be ready for online matches soon.

not to mention you go into dungeons where you open chests to find one new inventory item, a map and a compass.
