Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

I'd like some feedback gaiz, if you have the time, answer a few questions for me.

1. Rating the game from 1 - 10 in difficulty, what score would you give?
2. What level were you when you fought Salyri?
3. Was Salyri too hard or too easy?
Lurker here. This will be my first post. Hi all.

I like where you're going in this game, Architect. Based from the first hour of gameplay, I'm assuming that there will be multiple possible endings in this game, besides just the simple "choose which side you're on" ending. Am I correct in assuming that Richard, besides choosing whether he wants to team with up with the Queen of Chaos, the Supreme One, Lilith and Lucien, or Other, he will also have to choose which girl to go with in the end? Already, it seems that Nya and Miri are in love with him.

Storywise, I like this a lot. It's got a charming quality to it that's similar to . IMHO, A small suggestion in making it better may be to reward the player for his effort in collecting some of the excess plot details that weren't mandatory. For example, in the battle against Salyri, after the player won, if the player had already paid visit to Salyri's lover's tomb and talked to his grandson, an alternate post-battle dialogue could ensue and you could have Salyri move over to her lover's grave where the player could, from time to time, be "rewarded" by Salyri similarly like how he does at the farm.

Later on in the game, the player could get a special side quest where Salyri encounters the grandson and the player can get an extra H scene or something if they help change the grandson's views of monstergirls, come to terms with his grandfather's secret, and even kindle a new relationship with him and Salyri.

I think the story here is one of the major contributing factors that makes this game great as it amplifies victories and game overs by instantiating some sort of meaningful value that comes with winning and losing. If you can incorporate more of the story into the fabric of the gameplay and rewards system that's currently present so that the npc interactions are no longer just one night stands, I think this game could go far in quality (and replayability as this typically will give way to multiple paths and such). You're already doing a great job in instilling a sense of individualism into many of the npc dialogues (like the Centaur girl, who says something different if you fuck her the second time).

As for feedback:

1) 3. I didn't have to think much to win the battles.
2) 5-ish I believe.
3) She was alright for being the first boss in the game. I expect the later bosses to be far more difficult than she was though, as I considered her as the "Stage 1 tutorial boss."

Still no game images? I'm surprised people will download a game without images.

What'dya need images for? It's an RPG maker file, run it and see if you like it or not. There's not much of a difference between one and the next, other than in-game models.

A great little game.
It needs a lot more than just the one chapter.

Yes, Kusanagi, I too read that it's a beta test.

You're clogging up the guy's thread with bullsh*t.

Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

Liked the setting. Also that the guy could work to bridge the two sides, and bring peace and all - through sex, that is :).
Anyway, the difficulty would be normal if you add some physical attack to alraunes, and maybe lessen or shorten the effects of poison. The way it is know, you could go through whole forest just with 1 HP and drink potions only before the boss. And that is waaaay too easy =) .

Anyway, great ideas and great work on this one,I hope you will finish it one day. I will be patiently awaiting updates, maybe some of the stuff that you released for that "different community".

Yes, because your post of 'great game, but needs more than one chapter' was so riveting and full of ideas.

Thanks, though, for reminding me to do that feedback thing. I keep meaning to, but I keep getting distracted by shiny things.

1) Eh. I'd give the Slimes a 2, maybe a 3. They died in two hits, but they did seem to block/dodge a lot once every several fights. The Alraunes... they're scary at first, but once you realize the poison won't kill you... probably a 1-2. No actual attack, just a poison and a debuff. Impossible to die, just kept 2 Antidotes and a couple of HP pots handy for when I wanted to fight the boss/needed to go back to town.
Overall: 2
Alraunes need an actual attack. Of course, once you implement that, they need to spam that poison/debuff less.
Also: Personally, it feels like your poison resist is nil on the main character. Maybe increase his Poison resist, or have an item/equipment sold in-town that increases poison resist?
The attack debuff didn't get applied as often, and it seemed to happen less as I leveled up as well, but I still got it nearly every other fight. Again, the spam is a bit much. However, understandable, as they have no direct attack yet.

2) I was level 5, maybe 6. Can't remember if I leveled on the way to her.

3) Too easy. Her attacks didn't really do much damage, and she never once tried to use any life-stealing moves. Killed her in 7-8 turns. Never had to use an HP pot because I was never low enough on health to go 'shit, I should use a pot'.
If it isn't already there, should add the poison/debuff attack to her.
Should also increase the rate at which she uses her life-stealing attack.

Also: Glad you gave us 3 characters to play around with, but until you expand the demo to include another area/chapter, you might want to let us get the third a little sooner. Of course, if you do that, you'll have to increase Salyri's HP to make up for the fact that there's a third party member by then.
And yes, I know I can keep playing after I beat Salyri. There's just nothing in the story left to do, though, so it's kinda silly to keep playing then, IMO, especially when there aren't any 'Skills' to unlock.

Also also: I agree with Pentavus, about it being nice if there was a side-story you could complete with Salyri and the man's grandson.

Also ALSO also: Are you using pre-made images, or are they being made as you make the game? If it's the latter, maybe make a 'defeat' image for each of your other party members as well? It wouldn't necessarily have to be something in-game, but you could have a gallery on the main page that, as you are defeated by monsters, if that party member is in the group at the time, the 'defeated' pic is unlocked in their gallery.
If you have the time :p

ARRRGH.

READ.

Kusanagi says no new version, but he's working on it. At the bottom of the quote Architect mentions coming up with Chapter 2. This is different than the post above Kusa's.

Re: Monstergirls Unlimited RPG

...I forgive you.

On a sidenote, kind of a bummer that we not longer get new versions posted here (or at least none that I've seen). I'm not a fan of the Monster Girls Unlimited site.
