As the title pretty much says I'm curious if anyone would be interested in playing in a vampire chronicle set in the dark ages. It will be mostly more free form like the Laws of the Night was. We may use some stats but that would mostly be on me as the story teller, so you don't have to actually know how any rules. If there's any interest just let me know or if you have any questions ask away.

Right now I'm planning on around the year 1110, which would be roughly around the end of the first crusade. I haven't exactly decided which city it would be based around but I've got it narrowed to London, Paris, Venice, or Prague. If you're interested in playing and one of those cities sounds preferable to you go ahead and say so.

Yeah.

I'll let everyone else add suggestions and questions though.

Interest shown, so long as it's not based in Paris. I hate the French that much :)

But yes, I want in on this.

Willing to give it a shot. Might give me the opportunity to dust off an old character and see if he's still rattling around in my brain. Couple this with the Victorian Era game my ST wants to run for me and, well, let's just say there are likely going to be more days that I don't know when I am *laughs*

Preferencial to London, myself, but really, no problem with any of the cities.

Re: Dark Ages: Vampire chronicle interest?

Gah, head cold bad but I'll live.

This is apparently a bad time to mention that I'm of Cajun/French ancestry I take it. Actually forget I said that or I'll have to start insulting myself.

Seriously though I wasn't exactly looking forward to Paris and was leaning more towards London or Venice. I just threw the others in as an added option for people. So right now we're leaning towards London it seems. Not that the city is too important as of yet since there are plenty of reasons for any of the clans to be in any of those cities, except for the Tzimisce and Setites that is.

I'll probably give it another day to see if anyone else is interested before bugging Nunu for a subforum. If you want to start throwing ideas for characters around though go ahead. Basically all you need is a name, description, background, and a preferred clan if you have any.

At the time of the setting the clans would be Brujah, Cappadocian, Lasombra, Salubri, Toreador, Tzimisce, Ventrue, Assamite, Gangrel, Malkavian, Nosferatu, Ravnos, and the Followers of Set.

As before any questions or thoughts just throw them out there.

Do remember, too, dearies that back in the day (that is, Dark Ages) Brujah weren't the punks that they are today. They're still the warrior poets that they were before things went south. Which is actually what I'm leaning toward, myself. I'll wait and see where this is going before I start hashing more about. Plus, head cold myself, so not feeling too creative lately.

Well I feel plenty creative, I just also feel like my head might explode any second.

I should point out that you shouldn't feel too constrained about it being set in England. If you want to make the character from Norman Sicily or the Kievan Rus it's fine, it's not that hard to find a way to get you to London. Just so long as it makes sense for medieval Europe. Society will probably be a bit more egalitarian towards women than it actually was.

Ah, what the hell, I'm in. Came up with a couple examples, gonna see what everyone else goes with, so I don't double up or stick out too badly.

All right I just remembered to ask subforum so it hopefully won't be too long. Just keep your eyes open in the meantime.

So if you have any questions currently feel free to ask and I'll answer them while we wait.

EDIT: Well that was quicker than I thought, Nunu must be reading my mind again. I'll see you over at the Own the Night subforum.
