Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Went back to the game and let curiosity take me as I messed with the save file. I love this method of saving as a txt. So easy to change your stats if you want. Heck I even figured out how to revive bosses. ^_~

Instructions to revive bosses. I didn't experiment enough to keep all the weapons though.
"Be at a savepoint before an empty boss room"
-Highlight the file 'save1' and click ctrl+c (copy) then ctrl+v (paste) creating a copy. Do so again to create another copy to preserve your original save.
-Delete save1
-Start a new game and reach the first save point
-Open the new 'save1' and your previous copy in notepad or whatever you have for .txt format
-Now you see something like this (My end game save file btw ;D)

-The first twelve are stats and the like. ???, 388 hp, 1 ?chg gauge?, 23 atk, 22 def, 4 con, 4 chg, 21 lvl, 0 stat pts left. Highlight and copy all the 1s and 0s after these twelve on the new save. Now highlight the ones in your copy and click paste to overwrite them.
-Save file. Delete 'save1'. Rename 'save1 - copy' to 'save1'
-Open game and see your results.
-If raising your stats just find the corresponding number and raise it. The game displays stats up to 10000000000000000000 and lvl is 5 times that. 1 quintillion. I just put a bunch of 9s after a bit and the vore's 1 dmg wasnt even showing up. The traps might give you a heart attack though.
*side note* Infinite chg (charge) is rather enjoyable
My results were a revived succubus and only the first weapon. Essentially you are resetting your world but not Kuro's stats and placement.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

should try the reviving bosses trick! I love Succubus's attack, too bad we can;t fight her again without restarting a new game :(

I did mess up the stat after you said the save file is .txt though, just trying to add all stats to 50 and the vore monster only do 1 dmg XD

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Well, this is the save pattern.

You can't keep the weapons because they use the same variable as the boss.

Ah good to know. Its good to be able to dabble in things a bit after you finish. Kind of like a new game+

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

So, did anything ever come through on the impassable "no sound device detected" error? I'm still having it on the v6 demo.

WINE 1.4
64-bit Ubuntu Linux 10.04 (Lucid)

Code:
winedbg Kurovadis_V6.exe
WineDbg starting on pid 0023
0x7b85ea6f: movl	%edi,0x4(%esp)
Wine-dbg>cont
fixme:wininet:InternetSetOptionW Option INTERNET_OPTION_RESET_URLCACHE_SESSION: STUB
ALSA lib ../../../src/pcm/pcm_dmix.c:957:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) The dmix plugin supports only playback stream
ALSA lib ../../../src/pcm/pcm_dmix.c:957:(snd_pcm_dmix_open) The dmix plugin supports only playback stream
fixme:win:WINNLSEnableIME hwnd 0x100d2 enable 0: stub!
Basically, the error message pops up ("No sound device detected. Sounds might not play."), and then when I click "OK" (the only button), it doesn't go away. (It might just be vanishing and reappearing faster than my eyes can see)

I've heard many good things about this game and would like to give it a try.

PS: An identical problem occurs on the "CB_test2.exe" found on your website.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Closest thing to an answer I could find.

Wine's directmusic implementation (dmusic, dmime, dmloader, etc) is very incomplete. If your application uses directmusic, it will probably not play audio. This includes most games made with GameMaker. However, installing both "directmusic" and "dsound" using winetricks should give you working audio.

(removed URL because it wouldn't let me post otherwise)

It says I already have those two installed.

Nightmare Sphere, which appears to also be a gamemaker game, gives me "Failed to initialize Direct Music Audio", but continues when I click the button. (The music does work)

winetricks dsoundbug9612 gets me past that, though, and through the loading screen.

There's another issue:
Code:
err:d3d_draw:drawStridedFast >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> GL_INVALID_FRAMEBUFFER_OPERATION (0x506) from glDrawArrays @ drawprim.c / 58
fixme:d3d:context_check_fbo_status FBO status GL_FRAMEBUFFER_UNSUPPORTED (0x8cdd)

fixme:d3d:context_check_fbo_status Depth attachment: (0x160b78) WINED3DFMT_D24_UNORM_S8_UINT 1024x1024 0 samples.
etcetera.

Kurovadis just shows a black screen, while CB shows this:
Screenshot.jpg

Looking around for a solution.

EDIT: Looking at the longer (2.1 MB) error file (lots of repetition), it might also be:
Code:
fixme:dmime:IDirectMusicAudioPathImpl_IDirectMusicAudioPath_GetObjectInPath (0x1fd528, -5, 24576, 0, {00000000-0000-0000-0000-000000000000}, 0, {6825a449-7524-4d82-920f-50e36ab3ab1e}, 0x32fb2c): stub

which is where it switches from a stream of "fixme:" audio warnings to a mix of "err:d3d:" errors and "fixme:d3d:" warnings.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Having finally bought the game, I have to say it's very enjoyable.
All H content aside, it's great to play a platformer with a little difficulty.
I am somewhat disappointed that none of the chandeliers in Dracula's castle drop hearts.

Dracula's Castle? Are you sure you're still talking about the same game and not some other Castlevania game instead?

Unable to tell if being sarcastic? I have problems with detecting sarcasm in general, the internet doesn't help one bit >.>'

After getting the flamethrower, going back to that drop where there's 2 vines on either side, and following the path down to a spiked shaft, then off to the castle. Which the run-up and general aesthetic has a castlevania feel to it.

Game is worth every penny: quality platforming, gratuitous h-content, though my copy throws a wobbler when I try to start again right after beating the last boss (I keep my weapons and level, but attempting to leave the tube area scares the crap out of the game and it vomits binary).

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Managed to beat it. A couple thoughts:

In the room right before the final save point, it looks like there's an upper area that I couldn't reach. Is there anything up there or am I reading too much into the level geometry?

For some reason, I can highlight a fifth spot just below the four weapons.

The controls were very fluid, the roll in particular is a great mechanic.
Standing on top of an enemy and beating their skull in is also a great mechanic.

Sometimes when an enemy knocks you prone from one room into another, you won't be able to stand up afterwards.

You really should have given the bunny-girl things in Dracula's Castle a game over CG.

You can get up there by allowing the metroid like jellyfish to suck you up there. There's nothing there however and I take no credit for this solution as I questioned the same thing you did a few pages ago :D

if you mean mean the place in the first screenie I attached - see second screenie :) Nothing there. You can get up there if you stop right underneath it and let the metroid-looking flying thing catch you and drag you up, then simply break free.

For some reason, I can highlight a fifth spot just below the four weapons.
It was mentioned somewhere in the topic that it's a glitch, so no super-ultra-mega hidden 5th weapon (the laser qualifies for that description already, anyway).

I can believe I didn't think of that!
Oh well, I probably wouldn't have been able to manage it anyways, since I dumped all my points into attack. The metroid would have defeated me before I made it high enough.

These are the sacrifices we must make if we wish to 1HKO giant penis monsters.

Well, there is an atk powerup up there, but due to a glitch it doesn't appear if you've grabbed a certain other powerup.

Re: Kurovadis (OUT NOW! BUY IT)

Ok, so I know you guys don't really care for speedruns, nor autistic asses like SB who cause a big kerfuffle with their idiocy, but I thought maybe the one or two of you who really enjoy the gameplay might be interested in seeing me very clumsily speedrunning Kurovadis(2 deaths, completion time 34 minutes).
I reckon the game can be completed in something like 26-28 minutes minimum, or less if somebody super godlike showed up that never makes a mistake ever, they'd probably be japanese or something.

livestream.com/ScummyLoser

Tell me if you like it, or tell me to fuck off if you don't ever want to see my face again unless I bring H-content with me.

Also dev-Kyrieru guy, if you read this, I love the game, I don't know how complicated your future games will be, but this game is truly an example of simplicity done right.
