Re: Lost in the Jungle

Can't believe i forgot all about water blast!

Hit the lava with it, the steam cloud could give us enough cover to avoid the dragons attention till we get across. If the spell is focused in one spot we could probably make another stepping stone to make it the rest of the way across.

If not, then A1 and aim for the wings.

Re: Lost in the Jungle

Ehhhhh I would say B, there's just no telling how effective the spell is when you're standing on a piece of rock and a dragon swoops on you while you are on a river of lava.

Not to mention if you do hit it, is it going to crash land on you?

Told you Eve shouldve dealt with the freaking dragon before crossing the river of freaking fire

So I'm going to go for the retarded option of C, may as well go out in style

Re: Lost in the Jungle

Vote D, 'hit the lava with Water Blast, then fall back on Thunder Blast III on the Dragon's wings' wins!

-----

Faced with an untimely, fiery demise, Eve mentally leaps into action. Reaching inside herself for her magic, she invokes the necessary spell: "Ramr adurna!"

Water sprays out in a violent burst from both of Eve's palms, the force of it almost knocking her backwards. It strikes the lava, and vapourises instantly from the heat, forming a thick, foggy vapour.

Fantastic! Hidden from sight by the cloud, Eve tries to think of the next stage in her plan. The water seemed to have cooled the lava a little, maybe hardened the surface of it -

A blast of wind almost knocks Eve straight into the lava for the second time in 30 seconds. The dragon has stopped breathing its stream of fire, and is hovering nearby - but the thing's so huge, the beating of its wings is blowing Eve's cloud away!
Glancing around, it catches sight of Eve, standing on her rock in the river of lava. It's huge, dinner-plate sized eyes, yellow and slitted, spot her standing there, defenceless.

"Well, fuck." is Eve's only response.

The dragon's chest rumbles, and its mouth snaps open - launching a stream of fire that incinerates Eve in a second.

****

When Eve regains consciousness, she's somewhere cool and chilled. For a moment its a blessed relief - but then she spots the wooden door in front of her. The same wooden door she knows for a fact opens into the volcano zone, with its resident giant reptile.

Eve strides forwards, up to the door, anger at her unjust death burning inside her - then has a quick look back to see if there's an easier way to proceed. Besides a dimming, circular rune on the floor (presumably where she was brought back to life) there's just the white stone walls.

Well, Eve reflects slightly more calmly, at least whatever entity runs this place was kind enough to reanimate all her equipment and clothing along with her body.

She opens the door in front of her, then steps out again into the sweltering heat of the volcano, and its black and brown rocky floor.

The first thing Eve notices - the dragon has its back to her. It's still hard to appreciate the scale of creature; Eve is convinced she's seen smaller churches. Fortunately, its head rests on the ground (as does the whole creature, come to think of it), curved crimson horns pointing back towards her, and it's lying right next to the river of lava - the branch of the Y that Eve needs to cross to get to the exit. The deep rumbling noises coming from the beast suggest it's either asleep or resting very peacefully... but it's impossible to be sure without getting closer.

-----

Option A) Go with the original plan of using rocks as stepping stones across the lava.
Option A1) Ignore the dragon, hopefully it's asleep.
Option A2) Go check that the Dragon is asleep. Of course, if it isn't, it might spot you.

Option B) Climb aboard the dragon while it's asleep.
Option B1) Wait for it to get up, and fly to the correct bit of the zone, where we can make a break for it.
Option B2) Zap its hide with Thunder Blast III, that'll wake him up nicely and he'll fly there quicker. We can't wait too long, the heat is horrendous.

Option C) Take the dragon down in combat. It's asleep (probably) so now is the time to strike!
Option C1) Please specify what spell to use, and if you want to attack its rear end in relative safety, or if you want to risk going up to the head and attacking that.

Option D) Other.

Re: Lost in the Jungle

Do you people voting B realise the dragon will probably just eat Eve
Or jut about flying and drop us in the magma
Or take it's daily magma bath with us on it

Told you it wouldn't work.

Can't we just ignore the dragon and GTFO ASAP?

Last time we did that the dragon made us Kentucky fried chicken

B1
Yeah, but this time circumstances are different, and it's busy dozing (hopefully) rather than flying around roaring and being generally unpleasant. Just sayin'.

Given our poor chances either way, I'll go with A1.
