(which is HARD, since I can't read the raw ... so I don't know the exact meaning for the translation)

I'll just keep learning tough ...
my goal is all basic menu get translated ...
(at shop, Gov Office, dialogue item / event, etc) ...

new progress ...
Script for "Bed" item get translated ...
this also crazy ... each colored bed have their own Script / Contents ... so I must overhaul each of it ...
(why don't they just link it with 1 script ... geez ... )
this also being applied for EACH pet color ... each have their own Script / Contents ...

even I do such a crazy speed for translation, all of this work still haven't even cover 10% of it ...
(and probably not even 5% either, this haven't even get a good proofreading too)
I probably might give up sooner or latter ...
kinda makes me understand if Official Translation for US license takes a few month (or even a year or so) ...
makes me respect them ... really ... (the more you know ...)

I need to translate "Common" Script or variable or event or module ... whatever it called ...
and there's no "Ctrl+Shift+F" function in it ...
it will seriously give me easier time if it could be used like in MAIN script section tough ...

tried to translate all info from MEMO (memorandum book at player home)
!!! THERE'S A LOT OF IMPORTANT INFO IN IT REGARDING GAMEPLAY !!!
I tried to finish this first since it will greatly affect your gameplay enjoyment ...
40% >> 55% >> 65% >> 90% ... I end this one ...
some have weird translation ... I better leave it as it is ...
latter if someone willing to continue it and proofreading it ...

and few feature which being write, don't even active as it is ...

ALL ITEM DROP FROM MAP HAS BEEN TRANSLATED !!!
Announcement Board (for event) also already get translated ...
White Flower ... the translation get mess up since I can't read the raw ...

is there someone know how to access / edit "Control Variables" ?
it seems there's plenty of thing need to be translated in it ...

Is it possible if you could upload Compressed exe file on Mega of the translation? If Mega doesn't work any other upload site is fine.
File -> Compress Game Data and uncheck Encrypt it then upload the blue box exe icon it creates.

To edit Variable's Right click anywhere and make a new event, then on Contents double click. Next select control Variables. Then at Single Variable click the ..
That should show all Variables.

I'll see if i can find where the menu is stored for you.

Lacking kasio_navi, Kinda worried if this will affect Teleport script in game
I won't blindly translate because something can be translated ...
if the name of variable or script os "absolute" then it will cause bug and error ...


I will take a break from translating this game ... :eek:
kinda burn out, and trying to translate other game for a time being ...
Maybe I really should take it easy and have a good pacing, so I won't get sick of it ...

anyone feel free to continue this project as long as they mention in this topic first, so I won't crash in case I tried to start it again ...
(I will also mention it in here if I want to continue this too)

If no one take this after 2 Weeks, I might continue translating again ...
My next target is translating all main quest event (Succubus, King of Ghost, etc) ...

also a bit question ... I tried to use this in modified gameplay ... a bit survey if you will ... including your reasoning ...
1. Drop from Fish, Insect, Skeleton will become 100% (other Enemy still pretty much normal)
because it's kinda unreasonable ... it hard to catch certain enemy, not to mention there's a chance NOT dropping the item ...
2. certain random enemy don't appear (but already have their setting), should I make them appear in Dungeon ?
(this probably will appear in certain condition or newer version tough, not really sure about this)
3. Tanuki at Harbor sell extra rare item (not too rare tough, but with 2x price) you might think TWICE before buying it ...
some item / material is strangely RARE compared more expensive one, like Iron, and certain mushroom ...
even so, this will cost plenty of money ... and only further gameplayer will able to buy that ...
4. Coffee shop going to have "take out" dish, I only will make the dish match with what usually Cafe have ...
(probably only 5-10 dish, but the price is 2x times than before)

I won't make any mod if most of you disagree ...
or having separate Data file, for normal translated one or have "mod" in it ...

Stupid question but how are you extracting the text from the game?
If it was possible to unpack the text from the rvdata2 then repack it after translating then I might take a change "translating" the game. Probably just simple things like Names in dialogue, Choices, Menus, Etc.

The important translation for me are just those. the 1.08 Translation only had some of the Choices translated. which confuses me to no end.

I also get confused in that choice / menu ...
Life is Paradise have some menu being hid at their "Common" event script ...
LiP menu get modified from the original setting of RPM VX Ace ...
which is why it hard to find the "word" to translate ...
that "word" can means ...
1. Menu choice (can be translated)
2. Dialogue (can be translated) Story, Item, Event, H scene, etc ...
3. Variable (don't change this, it will cause bug / glitch if you do)

I must hunt it one by one and reading the programing so I don't make mistake by changing variable name (which might cause bug / glitch)

also ...
it will be hard if 1 (Menu Choice) also being combined as 3 (Variable) ...

in my case, I use RPG Maker VX Ace ...
1. Create new project
2. Put ALL games file in the project* folder ...
(the game data and graphic should already extracted by All Decript)
3. searching all I can translate from the game ...
(activate "Game" file with Red + Green gears)

the script / menu / dialogue can be located at ...
1. Main Script (F11)
2. Common Event (F09 > Common Event)
3. At Icon in map / F10 Mode (Right click and Edit Event / Enter)
4. In Variable (like what "yugifan3" mention)
5. ??? dunno if there's something more getting the script in it ...

usually most game won't use this kind of complex script ...
but for game with majorly focus for gameplay, LiP is one of game which have TONS of it ...
other average RPG Maker VX Ace usually only have 10%-75% script from what LiP have ...

With what menus are you having trouble with? I'm assuming it's not the main menu.

If you're talking about menus in common scripts then you need to know there are quite a lot of menus hidden inside comments like these.

This is one of the menus which is located in 533 common event. If you want to translate it without any errors you need to make sure there are no spaces between words inside []. To translate it you can do it like this.

What you have to keep in mind is that there should be no empty spaces inside []. Easiest way to make it seem like there's an empty space is to use invisible character instead to seperate words. To type in invisible character you can use ASCII code 0160. If you press left alt and type in 0160 and release alt you will get type in invisible character. It will look like space, but its different and it will allow for menus to have spaces in between words.

EDIT:

For some reason forum here changed the invisible character into * but if you use it inside RPG maker it works like a charm. You can also try in notepad, word, cmd or any other typing program to test it.
In case u're wondering. If you leave space inside [] then all the menus options after space will not show ingame. Same goes if you press ENTER or any other command that breaks line.

I tried ... which is why when I was translating it ...
I'm rummaging and searching around in Common Event Script ...
and it's freaking a lot ... 800+ ... (700+ maybe if you don't count any small / empty in it)
I haven't found any other game which have this many Common Event Script ...
(on average, most game is rarely reach 450+ too)

I already translate several Event, Dialogue menu, etc ...
and it's still not even 10% from what this game contain at ...
(main story, Event, dialogue, H Event still untouched)

what I tried to translate, at least menu choice when there's event ...
Main Menu when you check character, and such ...

I'll give another go for ver 1.08 after "Kuroshu" do it ...
(I kinda get burn out after rush translation I made before)

Usually I translate using this ...

if the translation still don't make sense, I cut the words bits by bits and arrange it by proofreading it too ...

latter, I probably will make some Mod for this game ...
plenty of interesting thing can be added in this game ...
(if not A LOT)
Ex :
in Dark / Chaos condition, certain monster might appear in random encounter ...
Casino sell alcohol type food or other item ... (use G, pay to make upgrade)
Cafe sell take out food ... (only few suitable food for Cafe, like cookies or so, and need to pay to make upgrade)
certain unique vendor which comes in for each season (kinda like Tanuki at Harbor)
ScareCrow sell a veggie ... or a Butcher might come and sell some meat ...
(have note all extra item for sell have INSANE price, so you might think twice before buying it)

BTW, in my translation patch, I add a bit item in Tanuki at Harbor ...
(yeah, the price is 2x the original, which already expensive to begin with)

about applying "ALL Decrypter" ...
How to use translation data folders by poster Starke.
1. Grab this program (ALL Decrypter),
2. Run All Decrypter and open up the game.rgssad(or rgss2a/rgss3a) file.
3. Extract all files and move all extracted folders into the game folder.
4. Delete or move the game.rgssad so the game doesn't get conflicted not knowing what to open.
5. Copy the data folder of the translation over the data folder that got extracted to the game folder.
6. Double click the executable to play the game as you did before.

better learn it well, because most translator edit the data or graphic which essential if you want to use any translation from ULMF area ...

my version to explain this ...
1. get "ALL Decrypter" program
2. open game.rgssad(or rgss2a/rgss3a) file.
(From the game data which you want to fix, don't get mixed with other game)
3. Extract ALL FILES (this goes to Extract folder)
4. either delete, rename, or evacuate game.rgss?? file ...
5. put in Data and Graphic which inside the "Extract" folder into the same folder of game ...
now the game will read the extracted file instead of game.rgss?? ... (you can play it, but it's still RAW)
6. OVERWRITE the Data and Graphic from translation (in LiP case, it's just Data" folder)
now the translation already applied and you will see the effect immediately ...

Note, some effect for translation in some game can only appear if you start New Game ...
sorry for this ... but there's no way around, ...
also some translation might cause the old version save can't be used at new one ...

Ahhh So that's also how you've been going at it huh?
It's Quite hard doing it that way. Since you HAVE to go and edit every single text box manually. I was looking around for a way to just open the files via note pad or some other text editing software so I can easily look for and replace words. For example Character Names or even the simple "Yes" and "No" options.
Haven't have any luck at all at finding any program or process that does just that.

As for translating I use Translation Aggregator Since it let's me use multiple translators simultaneously. It also has the ability to "substitute" certain words automatically in the translation which helps greatly when trying to keep the same phases or words from being translated differently.

(if I modify something like variable, the game might get nasty bug)
and proofreading it ... (kinda suck in this one) :eek:

but since I love this game, I tried to push further my limit ...
it's rare to find a game which actually have good gameplay ...

Translating the Name of the variable shouldn't have a problem atleast not with my experience. Translating scripts how ever might. Small Translations that make sense I copy and paste but for the most part I'd have to retype the machine translation to something more comprehensible.

And Yeah, it does have a nice game play.

their new game has released ...
and already get 120+ DL within a day ... =3= ...

it's SLG ...
but if they use RPG Maker VX Ace again, I can try to translate it too ...

i am at the demon king event, i have speaked with cat saying the ingredients to craft something to fight the demon king but i dont know where or what to do now, i looked everywhere, even on the island with the boat but nothing.
Annother thing can someone reupload the 1.13 version or the lastest? or at least link where to find it

Monster Event ? Angel Event ? God of Death Event ?

I forget the crafting, but I think you also need certain character to continue the event ... Takuya or someone else ... :confused:
