Re: Tentacle Souls

Not really sure on the main choice, seems better to keep a larger party, and would prefer to keep exploring the jungle, but the necromancer alone still leaves us with a powerful party, and might make sexy time easier, so B or C also sex sometime soon would allow us even greater number of evolutions.

Evolutions:
Levitate I
Teleport I
Scale Armor II
(Lust) Slime Ooze II
Stealth II
Entrapment III
magic sting III

Re: Tentacle Souls

C except send the girls back and only take the male warrior. At some point get him killed off in a totally non evil way, cause the is only room in the nexus for one giant dick. Infest him if we need to while exploring if we run into anything to fight. Okay if you want to be nicer about it, just abandon him out in the jungle...or help be up front about all the girls being yours now and he better keep it in his pants.

Evolutions:
Entrapment III: 30
Levitate I: 10
Levitate II: 20
Magic Sting III: 30
Tentacle Arts II: 20
Slime Ooze II Lust: 20

Total: 130

The levitate will help out greatly in the depths of the jungle, plus its just cool. Entrapment is an absolute no brainer! If/when we get hurt next head back to the nexus and ask ever so nicely for the girls to help with a good ol fashioned healing orgy...maybe nudge things along with the lust slime in case of some prudish pally. At the very least take the bug girl with all four tents...she intrigues me greatly.

Re: Tentacle Souls

C Might as well look around while were here. I suggest seeing both the insects back to their village. Learning about this world from there and stuff.

First off, didn't blue already have ovipositor? I mean, didn't he egg the both of the insects? So I think we should get the first upgrade at least for free.

As for the list...

Dread I <--- great for clearing out trash mobs
Aura Detect 2.55 <--- let's us see cursed status should come in handy if we ever find treasure
Scale Armor II <--- great for close encounters
Body Shock II <--- this and scale armor should go nicely together. We could wrap ourselves around an enemy and fry him.
Magic Sting III <--- using this with entrapment should work nicely
Swim II <--- should come in handy adventually
Levitate I <--- it's a start
(Healing) Slime Ooze I <--- because it's awesome.

Energy used: 140
Left: 60

I thought about doing Entrapment but we already have it up to II and if we use that and Magic Sting III we should do nicely.

Shadow, can we get the status of every one else? How badly damaged they are etc.

Idea for an upgrade. (Healing) Slime Ooze. Exactly what it sounds like. We ooze all over wounded teammates. Works better if we sex them (though only if they're female). I mean, we are more or less a paladin/mage/something tentacle creature. We have Holy Beam which sounds very paladiny-ish!

A. Just cause we got Ding healed doesn't mean everyone else has.

- ovipositor I 10E (Hopefully someone will be up for consensual eggings)
- Teleport I 10E (this is just way too useful)

- Aura Detect 2.55 20E (stupid useful)
- Stealth II 20E (because being huge and sneaky is awesome funny)
- Tentacle Arts II 20E (Sexual healings away)

- Magic Shield III 30E (the best offense is a good defense)

Total: 110E

Re: Tentacle Souls

Planning to kill a guy we just saved
You the straightest busta in the history of bustas. If you had a job at Capcom, you would be named Megabusta, and at Squeenix, they would call you the Busta Sword. You could work for Mythbusters as a stunt double for their crash test dummy.

For being a magic tentacle, our magic is REALLY fucking shitty. Let's evolve a fucking assload of magic and get up to something that -isn't- an "oh, ouch, that sorta stung a little bit". Some fireballs or illusions or someshit.

Healing slime actually sounds pretty fucking handy, too. I vote for that shit. All the slimes can be turned on or off, right? So we won't accidentally sleep someone we're healing, or heal someone we're sleeping?

Then, ask the rest if they wanna go on an adventure, or if they're all good for now and want to go someplace safe. Which they might, considering the hilariously nerve-wracking encounter and near deaths pretty much everyone just had.

I vote for EXPLORE MOAR but I also really want to see the Pally meet the Necro and also I wanna see what's in the grey land, so yeah.

B

I say we go a little more sparingly with the upgrades. In theory we can do them when ever, but we might not be able to get hearth back as easy.

Re: Tentacle Souls

Sorry for the delay, this week has been mental.

I did consider popping in on Thursday/Friday to point out I wouldn't be able to update until the weekend, but thought that might come across as a little attention-seeking...

Anyway, the votes are in: Option C wins (just) and the evolutions with 5 votes or more:
- Levitate I
- Scale Armor II
- Magic Sting III
- Aura Detect 2.55

Lots of others had 4 votes, and with no way to distinguish, I was concerned about blowing all your energy too quickly. You can try and gather support for more evolutions any time you like, though.

----

You crawl up out of your blackened, smoking pit and face the shaken group. Each looks faintly traumatised by the Dragon's dramatic arrival and departure (none more-so than the Spidercrab) and you decide it's best to take things slowly for a while.
You reach out mentally to the Necromancer, asking if she's OK and if she'd like to continue exploring the jungle. She looks up at you - paler than ever before - buts nods all the same.

You ask the same question of the warrior man and the insectile female. With your new aura sense you see aspects of them you never would have noticed before; the man is a fighter, slayer of one hundred other men, and though entirely without magic he practically radiates physical power. He carries a simple iron sword at his belt. The female creature comes from a nest of identical sisters, all of whom serve their queen. Her compound eyes glitter prettily in the sunlight, but you sense magic on her - she has a lot of potential. The staff she wields holds considerable enchantments as well.
The two make quite an odd couple, and for a moment you find it strange that you came upon them both in the upper tunnels of Blue's lair.

Regardless, you ask them the same question as the Necromancer; would they like to join you on your exploration of the jungle?

"Aye," murmers the man, his brown beard swinging as he nods. "I never expected me quest t'take me here, but now it has... well, any manner o' beast that can see off a Dragon is a friend o' mine, eh?" He grins at you, and you feel a sudden sense of warmness towards this stranger.
"Me name's Gregor, by the way," he continues. "Never understood 'ers, mind." He gestures at his insect companion, who you turn your attention to. You repeat the question, and though she doesn't speak english, you interpret the rapid clicking of her mandibles and the brief flutter of her wings to mean yes. Her role in the colony means she has little identity and certainly no name of her own, but her prolonged separation from them may have an effect sooner or later, you deduce... for now, you'll refer to her as Atta. It seems to fit.

Satisfied with your motley gang, you head off into the wild, untamed depths of the rainforest.

Some hours into your walk, with the sun hidden behind the canopy above, you come to a crevasse in the muddy ground. Your associates are quick to jump across the gap, but with your increase in size, you're not as sprightly as you once were - yet you find you can simply hover over it instead. Very convenient. The Necromancer spots you gliding magically across the gap and for a split second something resembling an impressed look passes over her, before she turns away, Spidercrab scuttling along beside her.

Not long after, the sun sinks below the horizon, and the group of you are still in the depths of trackless forest. Wordlessly, you go about making a rudimentary camp, weary after the day's travel. Soon everything is in place, and you all lay your heads down for some sleep - all of them except you, that is. The Tentacle Lord has no need of sleep. Dozing, however, is normal...

A sudden snap wakes you from your trance-like state. That was the sound of a twig breaking underfoot, and a rapid glance around reveals your cohorts are all still asleep on the leafy ground.

You stick your head up, and Aura Sense reveals what would normally be invisible in the pitch black of night; goblins. Hordes and hordes of them, all male, all covered in battle armor, swinging their stone and iron weapons. One goblin by itself is no threat at all, but this is considerably more than one goblin; this is an army. And they have your camp completely surrounded.
A muffled roar wakes the Necromancer - she must be a light sleeper - and within seconds she's on her feet, staring sleepily out into the night. The roar comes from the brightest aura of them all - a towering cyclops, held back by goblins clutching ominously fragile-looking chains.

One goblin, larger than all the rest - almost human height - strides forward. A lopsided scrap of gold sits awkwardly on his head; presumably it's meant to be a crown.
"Evenin', tentacle," he croaks. "We'll just be takin' the two women an' we'll be off, if that's alright with you?" As he speaks he rubs his bulging groin meaningfully.

----

Option A) Yep, you're well and truly surrounded. Allow them to carry off Atta and the Necromancer then continue on your merry way.

Option B) Fight back using brute strength; Magic Stings, Firebolts, you name it. Your new Scale Armor II should help protect you at least.
B1) Focus on the goblin king and the cyclops first.
B2) Deal with the soldiers immediately around you first.

Option C) Strike a deal; hand over Atta on the condition he and his army leaves the rest of you alone.
C2) Hand over the Necromancer instead.

Option D) Other.

Status:
HP: 150/150
Energy: 120/200
Morality: 9/100

Evolutions:
- Thunder Bolt I (Like Fire Bolt, Thunder element).
- Water Bolt I (...ditto).
- Ice Bolt I.
- Ovipositor I (Allows you to lay eggs within the orifice of a host. At low levels, these eggs are weak and may not hatch properly. Further upgrades reduces this risk. Each egg costs 10 energy to plant, but the hatched tentacle is autonomous and commanded by you).
- Dread I (Releases pheromones that make organisms more afraid. The higher the level, the stronger the effect it has, and the better it works on people (lower levels are effective mostly against animals).
- Teleport I (allows you transport small, inanimate things back to the Dimensional Nexus, or wherever you set up a lair in the future. Further upgrades allow you to move bigger, and eventually alive things. NOTE: This spell will never be usable on yourself).
- Confusion I (Launch a magical blast that can disrupt the brain-waves of a foe. Useful against well-armored creatures that aren't very vulnerable to normal attacks).

- Levitate II (allows you to hover straight over even wider gaps).
- Firebolt II (Like Magic Sting II, but Fire Element).
- (Lust) Slime Ooze II (your slime induces lust in those that contact it).
- (Sleep) Slime Ooze II (your slime makes those that touch it sleepy. Very... sleepy).
- (Healing) Slime Ooze II (your slime heals those that touch it. Like with all slime effects, it can be turned on and off at will).
- Perception II (20 Energy. Use body language and other subtle, chemical clues to put together a general hint of what someone is feeling at any given time. Is that a molecule of sweat? They're nervous. Are their fingers tapping? Clearly impatient.)
- Stealth II (20 energy required. Become even sneakier).
- Swim II (20 energy required. Can you guess what this evolution does?)
- Body Shock II (20 Energy required. A powerful wave of magical energy runs over your skin. Akin to picking up a live electrical wire. Obviously limited to close-range combat, though).
- Tentacle Arts II (20 Energy required. Recover HP through sex).

- Magic Shield III (30 energy cost. Lasts longer and tougher to break than Level II).
- Entrapment III (30 cost). Small tentacles appear from the ground around your enemy and bind them to it. The tentacles are strong but not unbreakable.
- Re-Skinned Illusion III (30 cost). Use magic to change the outward appearance of a surface. Useful for laying traps, though not much help in the heat of the moment.

- Illusory Duplicate (40 Energy Cost). Creates a magical duplicate of yourself that can slide around causing all sorts of panic, though unfortunately it isn't truly alive and can't perform any magic of its own.
- Aura Detect IV (40 Energy cost. The pinnacle of Aura Detection - see Cursed and Holy objects from far afield, allows you see even the faintest magical trap clearly, and can allow you to perfectly judge the magical aptitude of your foes).

- Magic Cannon. (40 Energy Cost) Unleashes a huge blast of Magical Energy, costing 10 energy each time, but one use of this spell has been known to strike holes in reinforced castle walls.

Re: Tentacle Souls

B1. Magic sting the Goblin King first, It should be powerful enough to send him flying if not do him in, then spam fireballs at the cyclops. Cut off the head and the serpent dies.

I also recommend once we get back to Nexus to heal, we invest in illusionary duplicate and magic cannon, and work on our magicks as Blarg mentioned.

D: Negotiate/intimidate (somehow) in an attempt to get them to leave you alone, but go with B1 if/when that fails. Because I don't think we can win against this many, even if we are the Tentacle Lord.

Re: Tentacle Souls

Dick move. Start of negotiating, playing to his obvious sense of vanity from the haphazard crown. Promise him such riches and so many woman if he would only "aide" you in taking down the other tentacles. Making sure to steer clear of calling him any kind of underling/minion/servant as that would most likely set him off.
Get close, play it cool, basically seduce him with power...then when the moment is right and you are right on top of him, INFEST.
Then ya know play it by ear from there, maybe simply order the goblins away or make more of a ruse about it and get them into some trouble amongst themselves or with some other forest denizen.

And hey, if all else fails Evolve Magic Cannon and fire it point blank... A sufficient demonstration of power should do to deter if not scare off most of the weaker willed goblins.

I'd agree with all of this. D or B1 whichever this fits better.

Although i would guess that infesting the cyclops would be easier. can we even fit in human sized monsters anymore. Still if it can be done the king would be better. Otherwise we could infest the cyclops, smash the king, than use magic cannon to scare off the regular soldiers, dread I might also help with. Also depending on how fast the necromancer can use her magic, she should be able to bring over goblins that we kill.

Once the battle is over I would vote for Slime Ooze Lust if we have the energy which would hopefully allow for a quick recovery.

Also seems like a running list of the skills we have would help since its might be easy for some of us to forget some of them.

E.

Evolve magic cannon, try and position ourselves in a such a way that with one shot we'll be able to send the gibs of king flying into the cyclopses eye.

That'll show em

Yes, but it's tricky and bits of you will be poking out.

You could use Ovipositor I and start to use little baby tentacles to infest smaller things, though...

That is a very good idea. I'll put a list together of the most advanced evolution you have from each particular tree. Please point out if I'm missing any.

Current evolution list:
-Fire Bolt I
-Levitate I
-Swim I
-Slime Ooze I
-Ovipositor I

-Scale Armor II
-Entrapment II
-Magic Shield II
-Aura Detect 2.55
-Infest II

-Lust III
-Magic Sting III
