zodiark69, last time i read your post you're still attempting to clear 2-4, have you done it?

if you have i want to know your T level (just curious) and your fleet level+composition

if not well... we're in the same boat i guess, i already T level 41 and haven't passed 2-4 mainly because the compass always send me NW or to node P

T level is 37, and usual comp is 4 BB and 2 CV. I got a couple new girls, so I'm spending some time to try leveling them up. Also, I don't play much, cause work has been eating my free time up.

I'm trying to figure out what fleet set up I want to run to try and clear E-4. I read on the wiki a full destroyer set up works but so far my girls haven't passed the 3rd node :<

Full destroyer "functions", but I wouldn't call it worth doing unless you have an extreme excess of buckets in comparison to resources (or a huge amount of levelled destroyers to rotate between for fatigue/repair).

The main issue is that the hard part about this map isn't the boss itself, its getting there to begin with between all the bulllshit cut-ins and compass trolling to H. Unless you're spectacularly overlevelled or RNG loves you, you're probably only going to get to hit the boss safely every hour, maybe every 45 minutes if you're risking emergency repairs by continuing with red ships on the 3rd node.

Ships unable to equip type 3 ammo will do very very mediocre damage (40-60 per attack) to the boss in the event that they even get there and you're lucky enough to have them shoot the boss instead of other ships. Even kitakami and ooi who will crit most other ships at night from 200-400 will only do 50-70 on the boss.

This is the reason why people bring cost-heavy ships even though its a night map and those ships have fat repair costs when they get cut in. You wanna make sure every time RNG pulls through and lets you fight the boss, that fight COUNTS. Type 3 lets ships do almost full night attack damage meaning if 2 type 3 equipped ships double attack the boss at night, there's a good chance they're gonna kill it, meaning more bar reduced and more time saved.

Ideally you want 2 kongou's to use the shortcut, wouldn't recommend a third battleship unless you're going for the final kill because of expense.
So from top to bottom
DD/CL/CL(T)
DD/CL/CL(T)
DD/CL/CL(T)/CA
DD/CL/CL(T)/CA
KONGOU
KONGOU

You can make a kongou your flagship because its a lot less likely to take damage there (expense saved on repairs) or you can stick it at the bottom to help make sure if everything else gets shot at the boss, the boss is the only thing left for them to shoot.

I... can't do any damage to the E-2 boss.



Was lucky enough to get there without taking a single hit and yet..



They're level 15-18 with really basic red guns (12.7cm, 20.3cm), I can't seem to craft anything better and been leveling on this E-2 map, but the repair times are getting pretty damn high.

Make sure you're set up for double attacks

=> Reference this for what kinds of equip set ups cause double attacks and which cause cut-in.

Just toss 2 12.7cm/10cm on each destroyer, 2 20.3/15.5yellow cm's on each heavy cruiser

You can honestly use destroyers for e-2. You're honestly running a pretty heavy team for a e-2, so consider swapping if you have higher lvl'd dd's or are running low on resources due to repair costs. Its also not necessary to bring akagi along to try and force a day battle, you can just as easily kill her at night and she's pretty resource heavy.

You still have a week to lvl/accumulate + e-2 doesn't regen so take your time and don't risk your ships. I'm sure RNG will kick in eventually and give you the flagship sink you need.

Thanks d3vlight. Yeah they were using double attack setup (have no secondaries though, except on my battleship).

I depleted the map bar with full DDs but what I've noticed is that they tend to crit a lot less/miss and then go to day battle.. where they're utterly useless. Then again, they were unupgraded and all under level 8 haha. I'll try leveling them some more ^^


And wow Hakoniwa, dat T level. I have the same wall and flooring as you too!

Also; all dat resources and that wonderful Yahagi. Where does she drop? I kinda want to farm for Agano and her >.<

Also also; Hiei got a second remodel?! Guess I should swap her out for Kirishima soon so I can level her up too :3

Third also; I got 3 of the strong turbines for my craft dailies. It seems Kirishima makes for a good Secretary! Today seems like it's going to be a good day :3 :3

Yahagi drops at the E-5 boss I think.

Ahhh I was confusing it for the AP ammo that I have. But wait type 3 gives you anti air fire, but what if my ships already have 46 cm guns?

They still function normally, if that's what you're wondering.

I kind of wish I actually tried doing the event earlier. I'm only at E-2 and I won't be able to get Yahagi no matter what I do now.

Hope Agano and her are craftable after the event.

And my habit of even leveling my ships has backfired spectacularly.... I've run out of metal as my general ship daughter level has hit 20... I can't afford all the remodellings of all my destroyers, light cruisers and the Fuso sisters :p

On another note, I try a aircraft carrier recipe and I finally get my Yuubari-chan?? :D Oh RNG you troll me so......

Sorry for the worst screen ever. Was all thanks to Chikuma landing the luckiest first strike I've had. And Hiei landing the final blow in day battle. Even got an S rank :cool:

GAH!!! Now I have tasted the horror that are boss's with regenerating health..... 6 hours, 70 buckets and about 7k of fuel, ammo and steel later the e-3 boss is at about half health :eek:

My ships are probably a bit underlevelled for this, but I shall continue till I have no more resources, ONWARD SHIP DAUGHTERS!!!! FOR THE EXP IF NOTHING ELSE!!!

Welp last night I tried my best to go after E-4 and managed to knock off 2 bars of her health, took a while because I had to slowly repair my girls because of no buckets. Woke up to see that 1 bar regenerated back so I was hoping to get that back. Nope, even with full fleet of sparkly daughters they got crit red on the first or second fight forcing me to return to base.

E-4 health has fully regenerated and I only have 2 buckets to my name... Guess I'm done.

I wanted the other sub-chan and Mushashi :<

Sorry to hear that mate.

Take solace in the fact that you probably saved yourself some week and a half's worth of power grinding, resource farming, frustration, and despair.

Finished off E-5 last night/this morning after ~4 hours of steady sortieing on fatigue cd.

E-4 made E-5's map seem incredibly doable and harmless in comparison. The level requirement is probably higher since you need to survive the boss's day onslaught before getting to bop her at night, but the nodes are soo much easier.
Had probably a ~70% sortie - arrival rate, even with going the 2 kongou route.

Used up some 10k fuel, 12k ammo, 8k steel and 60 buckets. Torn on whether or not I should blow the rest on trying to get yahagi or just farm the other maps for ships I don't have. The act of killing E-5 itself had pretty low yields =\ Mostly Takao's, CL's and CVL's.

Y'know, I think the RNG Goddess loves to screw with me. Seriously. I'm doing my daily crafting, and I put in one weird ass amount of resources, and I got this for it.

Oh my heart.... after 120 buckets, 15k each of fuel and ammo and 12k steel, Kitakami-sama reduced to 1hp from orange hp status at night, with Akagi also on orange health reduced to 2hp after day on the final node, I have cleared E-3..... Ise and Hyuga pulling off consecutive cut ins on the boss.... but leaving a Ta class BB to pull the heart stopping shot on kitakami-sama......:eek:

Now excuse me while I go lie down for a bit........ and offer sacrifices to the RN Goddess.......
