There's a nice sense of depravity to this one and I already enjoy what little I've played so I certainly hope it's not cancelled. The one man dev is a difficult position for sure AND he's doing it non-profit so I can totally understand a long span of time between updates. I hope we hear from him again.

Last activity on OPs acc is more than 6 monts back. Pretty safe bet that it is as dead as a doorknob.
Might pull through in the end, but don't hold your breath.

This one's dead-"ish". I stopped development but I'm actually determined to come back to this one in the future. Or rather, going to remake the whole thing from scratch using a different software.

Also, feedback from here and from elsewhere led to me to realize there's actually a whole lot of games out there which are basically the same thing. Bit of research and I found most adult games go in two directions: you play the evil dark lord who rapes everyone in his way, or you play the hapless heroine who, well, gets raped on the way to wherever it is she's going.

Seeing as the fundamental idea of this whole game is "hapless heroine sleeping her way through an RPG-ish adventure", I decided to put it on hiatus while I collect my thoughts and think of new ways to approach this. I'm going to work on a different indie project (using the newest model of RPGMaker, called MV) in the meantime.

Hopefully I can come back to it and make it better. Less "porn slideshow masquerading as a video game" and more "video game with adult elements". And make the art more consistent. Maybe by sticking to one artist's work as stand-ins; thinking gmeen, who does a lot of monster art. While you wait, feel free to try my new game (link in my signature), Sex Zombie.

PS: Sorry for the long hiatus. I do actually work professionally in the video games industry as a writer and recently I've had to do a huge amount of storyboards...

The game itself is actually a lot darker than what I was expecting. Sure, there's plenty of games here with death and rape and such but you did a really great job nailing how cruel people can be when in bad situations. I really hope you come back to this once you're done working on your new project! :D

When I make games, I like to make them somewhat artistic in that I use the adult themes to reflect what a lot of mainstream games can't do - the madness and the depravity that takes over in times of intense danger or difficulty. I'd glad you liked it anyhow. But I feel like this game, since the NSFW path was very much integrated (ie. you couldn't NOT do it to progress through the game) was somewhat flawed. I want to approach it with at least two paths - give in, or struggle through all the way.

Yeah, while I understand your concern about following one of the 'cliched' paths of H games, I also think the execution of Claire's Quest seemed to be taking it on a track that separated it from the something like Oneone1's games of turbo-slut-ness. It was almost closer to the Witcher's goal of forcing the player to make morally ambiguous choices, or placing them in dilemmas within which there wasn't really a 'good' and 'bad' choice.

Also, I would argue that the reason the sort of "female MC who sleeps her way through a story" is popular and cliche is because it's pretty open-ended and generally a good premise for H-games. I do agree with you about maybe getting an artist to enable you to make whatever scenes you would like, instead of being restricted by found art.

That was vaguely what I was trying to do. It was a combination of make hard choices, good storytelling, and trying to show what happens to human beings in desperate times.

There have been a few people pushing the Patreon option on me so I can commission an artist. I'm also, however, hesitant to use Patreon to fund a game I cannot promise a definite completion time on. I'd much rather finish the game, and then put it on Patreon to source funds for original artwork.

Dropping a couple of screenshots to let y'all know Claire's Quest is being actively worked on. Entire game was remade from scratch on the new RPGMaker MV engine (and since I stupidly already had tonnes of Isles maps done on RMVX, it took ages to redo everything) and tweaked a little here and there.

Have your say, and take a looksee around the locations, plus a first peek at Rathpike, one of the four Isles.























I have enough content to publish a version with the old places which were there before, but I'm waiting until I have some new content and areas ready to go before I publish. Depending on the general feedback, though, I can put out a version with what I have at present rather than letting you all wait two weeks longer or so. It won't be entirely the same as the old version anyhow so people might want to try it out.

The biggest change is probably that all the NSFW scenes have had their imagery removed to avoid intellectual copyright issues if and when I put the game up on Patreon to fund original artwork rather than essentially 'stealing' it off the boorus and HF. Also, all quests come in non-linear fashion now, rather than previously where the storyline at one point forced you to go through a sexual route - like it or not. Claire can resolve nearly everything in at least two ways: sexual and non-sexual. I say 'at least' because the more difficult and complicated mid-to-late game quests introduce even more ways to accomplish your goals.

I'm glad you've decided to keep working on this one! Two questions:

How high priority is it for you to hire an artist for this? My imagination isn't bad, but at a certain point I enjoy pictures to go along with the text. I completely understand your decision to remove potentially owned pictures though.

Is there going to be writing for some route in between all-sex choices and all-virgin choices? I find I most enjoy a character who has sex but isn't the Oneone1 type of complete bimbo/slut.

Though the screenshots look good, I agree with giving it some more time until you have extra development completed, rather than essentially releasing what would seem to be a re-skinned version of the older game.
