For some reason whenever I try to boot this game up it ends up saying I have a corrupted file and to try reinstalling. I've reinstalled the RPG Maker VX and RTP, ran it in japanese unicode as admin, tried a different version and still nothing.

Any ideas or help with this? Very appreciated in advance.

Maybe download the rtp in jap uni if you haven't done that before.

Try and run it as admin, try replacing the dll in the system folder / rename the folder if it has wierd characters and as a last resort reintall the rtp. Usualy the renaming of the folder does the trick

Hey, does anyone know if there is a way to mod the game ?
Because i was digging into the code and, omg , this is outrageous how these guys write code .
I know it's japanese , and even if i don't read it, i can see the big picture, but that's horrible to read !

Funny thing, when i pasted on this , it organizes better than my note on pc .

Still pretty messy.

Just to explain why , i wanted to change some parameters :
-reduce greatly the power of witchtcraft (at some point it gets so ridiculous you can 3-4 turn the boss by spamming 1 spell even at lvl 25).
-increase the difficulty of escaping by pressing buttons ( to make the very spell that makes the game relevant : the virgin protection magic. I mean it is SO easy you can , never use the spell at all .)
-change some items like the armor (too OP) and some cloth (too weak for most) and the healing item (why ever buy and use wine really !) .

Well, in short, make the game more difficult but also more rewarding !


But right now, it's really hard to see how even start a modding .

Any idea ?

Extract the data file with RPG Maker Decrypter and open it in RPG Maker, you will be able to see the original source then.

already tried : "Cannot find the hero stats" error and wrong file format....
Maybe i'm doing something wrong here.
Well too bad, unless someone have any idea how to help me, i could work on the mod and, maybe, make a crud translation IN the game source code.
A bit like the Saki quest (wich is correctly translated).
Maybe it would be easier for Habisain to translate too.
Just saying.

The reason why I use RPGMaker Trans is because it is easier to translate than in RPGMaker. The only reason progress is stalled is because I have no laptop to translate on at the moment. As to if you're doing something wrong... maybe, maybe not? It's a bit hard to tell, really. There's evidence that this game was only partially made in RPGMaker, with Searothonc using some kind of custom tools, so I don't know how well it'd be editable in RPGMaker.

Did you use RPG Maker VX Ace?

Also not all files will be displayed by RPG maker, for example the slideshow info you have to write a custom ruby script to decode it.

Try and set your regional setting to Japan then restart computer, then unzip it, then play it all while still set to Japan locale. Some games are finicky like that, sometimes you can get away with unzipping it with winrar opened in Jap locale but when in doubt do it all in Jap locale.

露出快楽 3 = 2 running boys event ,no underwear and dress talk to them
ポーションなどを飲む no this message, maybe If drink 5 times? (use お酒 or chapter 2 drink water in sex temple), then walk around has hscene, with out empty bottle [空の瓶] (but after use some drink will get 1 empty bottle) has another hscene

Wow searobonc company is hiring programmers, artist, scenario writers, game designers/planners.I think they are going professional. Cant wait to see their future games!

Future games might be using the unity engine, rpgvx, rpgvx Ace, rpg MX tools.

I'd be a little sceptical there. Technically Hard Chrome was hired, but the terms were paid on completion. I wouldn't hold out too much hope that Searothonc is going to be professional, although it's fairly clear that they do want to do more games.

If I recall correctly, Searothonc has said that whatever the next game is, it most likely won't focus on the same set of characters - so not sure if that'd be too much of a sequel. However, it will most likely have characters from VPM in it (either cameo roles, or a game set in the same world).

Don't write me off just yet! I'm still trying to recover data from my old SSD, should know if it's possible later today. If I can get the data then there's a chance for a new translation release fairly soon (translating Act 2/parts of Act 3). If not.. well, it'll push it back a bit. Not sure how much.

That'd be for the best, really. Part of the fun is the gradual sexual corruption, if you had Brigit fully lewd from the first game... what would be there to do? A new airhead, I think a tsundere type would be interesting, but anything by Searonthonc should be good ^_^

Also, noticed something odd with the patch: sometimes when I apply it, the menu is completely translated, and other times not entirely but other parts of the story are more completely translated... Not entirely sure it's the same patch, but the partial menu translation should be the more complete one.

Anyway, good luck again with recovering data!

After multiple attempts over two weeks, data recovery has been successful. Just as well, as it looks as if I had a lot more stuff that wasn't backed up properly (due to a Dropbox misconfiguration that I found a few days ago and hadn't mentioned because it was just too awful to contemplate). 13 changesets recovered, comprising quite a lot of stuff translated over 2 weeks-ish.

On the downside, my opinion on the SSD in question is that there's been some kind of hardware failure, as any machine with it plugged into a SATA port only has a 10% chance of booting (note: even if you're booting from a USB), and it's full of bad superblocks. So I'm still laptopless, although I should be able to remedy that soon.

Still - progress!

Also, I'm now wondering if I should write, I dunno, Sweartbucca (the demon) with the voice of Professor Farnsworth...

That's weird. There should only be one patch, so I can't say why that's happening. It's not something I've ever seen, certainly. It may be related to firewall things, or just RPGMaker Trans being a bit dodgy on some Windows systems. I should hopefully be releasing a new version of RPGMaker Trans waaay before this project is completed, and that should correct the problems that some people are seeing. If you could PM me the data files when the menu's are only partially translated I'll take a look and see if I can spot what on earth is going on there.
