So, perhaps in an attempt to double up the Special Hell's chatroom's constant RP count, I'm tossing an advert for a freeform roleplay that will be happening in there if I can get a high enough interest, with occasional feedback either coming from this thread or my archive thread in Blank Page.
Right, here's the story pitch:

As the title suggests, this story takes place in the fantasy realem used in my Blackshard stories, primarily the continent known as Kalifer, although in the roleplay other continents may also be visited regularly. Tens years have passed since the events of Blackshard, in which a young explore accidentally awakens one of these infamous living artifacts. The remaining Blackshards are eventually destroyed for good, and the continent of Kalifer returns to peace and prosperity.
Ten years go by, and in the Abyssite port settlement of Spine of the Abyss, bodies have begun to wash up onto the shore, bearing the features of the Helius people - A tribe of humans who's home island was sunk beneath the waves many thousands of years before the Rift Wars, due to the goddess's jealousy of their soul manipulation to the point of empowering constructs with the mere touch.
More terrifying, however, is the fact that these bodies bear what appear to be malformed and half-mutated Blackshard Parasites, Nether creatures that do not exist in the human plane and the original source of the Blackshard artifacts.
The four great leaders of Kalifer's nations have sent out for aid to any masters of thier craft who feel they could assist in the search for what is the cause of the Blackshard's appearance in this reality, the cries going to the technological-advanced kingdom of Braxil across the sea in one direction, to the Shiri Islands to the south, Dragonkin Empire of the Scaletail Islands to the far east, the religious zealotry of the island nation of Nullim to the southwest, and even far beneath the oceans to Helios itself.
Should there be a perfected Blackshard in this day and age, it could only spell doom to the kingdom of Kalifer, and the rest of the world shortly after.
You are to take control of one of these various heroes, your mastery in your craft having led you to assume you could find a way to discover the source of these new Blackshards. Whether a strong warrior, a diplomat from a far land, or trained in arts such as alchemy and technology, you may become the hope of Kalifer against this new threat.
