It is past noon in this mysterious world. In 18 hours, the sun will set.

Re: DTT Revival - Game 1 ; Day 2

There is no conversion mechanic in this game, Freeko.

If there was, I'd expect to be told about it point blank, as that's a serious mechanic to introduce to this game.

"In many whispers with Ikumi, I (Miyuki) have been trying to basically do a rapid-fire discussion on the benefits of discussing lynch or no lynch, and about the value of information possible to glean from a first day lynch.

"Because people who have studied these incidents in the past (read: play the Town of Salem scenario in particular (especially the GM)) keep hounding on me saying that the night powers make things sooooooo different (I doubt it, but we shall see), I'm no longer totally opposed to a day one abstaining.

"HOWEVER. I would like to get a feel for people's current mentalities. There's more to this game than pure logic. This is a social game. Psychology does play a part, and in my experience the more talk that goes on during a game, the better chance the Shintos will have of making the correct choices later on in the game. I have seen people make good judgement calls based totally on reads they have made over the course of a game. The necessary volume of discussion can only be built up during day times and only with the threat of a lynch looming over people.

"Let me put one thing to rest: Of course I don't want to kill for killing's sake. I don't want to lynch an innocent. But I don't want silence. I don't want people with something to hide to feel comfortable during the daytime.

"Talking is good. Lynch votes get people talking. Actual lynches are a different story. If I have to be a loud mouthed accuser on an early day just to get people talking, then I feel I've done a service to Team Good."

I do come from a metagame where usually lynch was mandatory anyway, so my group learned to make the most of it, and over the course of many games, I've come to the conclusion that just because people don't KNOW things for certain, you CAN begin getting reads on people, especially if you've come to know them over the forums, and this can lead to accurate lynches that beat the odds. You can't depend on GM info to win the game for you. Rare is the game that a crucial decision doesn't have to be made based on a judgement/psychological call. This being the case, you need to build discussion and tension. A quiet game leads to death for team good.

At least you realize the value in voting an inactive. I want to get people into the game. With so many night actions it seems that people want to forego the game and just randomly throw darts. That is the defacto wrong way to go about this game.

No lynching is just the absolute wrong thing to do.

Re: DTT Revival - Game 1 ; Day 2

"I have no problem with conversation. I only object to killing someone based on nothing but the feeling that someone should be dying." Keiko shrugs. "Bear in mind, also, that twelve people talking for the sake of looking innocent can be almost as deceptive as twelve people keeping their mouths entirely shut. Especially when a subgroup of those people have access to more information--the Crazed Maiden who marked me probably works alone, but the ones killing our family are probably working in tandem."
As someone who's been playing Town of Salem for some time now, I have often remained silent as a Shinto. A Sherlock who reveals themselves early becomes a useless corpse before they can find more information, and forcing a valuable Shinto to reveal themselves is a death sentence, whether or not they hang. The smart Shinto is quiet until they have something useful to say, and hopefully some measure of protection. They also take COPIOUS NOTES in their WILL (I've yet to see an adversary erase ALL the wills).

If someone brings information, then the group has to decide whether to trust the accuser or the accused (or if the information isn't conclusive). If the information proves correct, then it behooves the town to safeguard the informant at night. More often than not, the Shinto will find a scrap of information that allows them to take down some of their adversaries, but luck plays a part. The rest is knowing how to play your role.

"I would rather twelve people talking with three or for of them *trying* to be deceptive, than allow everyone to remain silent. Every little lie can be an exposure. Being a silent person can hurt. Yes, there are goods that want to avoid notice, but don't you think that the evils are trying to look for those quieter goods as well? Better to hide in plain sight."

"But we must act! We must do SOMETHING or all of us will be raped, one by one!" Suki said exasperatedly, "I don't believe that it's Hikari that marked you... You could just as easily have marked yourself... And why then would she want you killed, rather than have you survive to join her in being raped by her beasts? I think she is just acting out of fear, but now is not the time for hysterics. Annette... Where is she? I think her lack of presence is more suspicious than anything else! As is the whispering going on over there!" She pointed to Miyuki and Ikumi, "what are you talking about, hrm!?"

The sky begins to turn a beautiful shade of red, both a visual display of doom and natural art, and a sign that only 12 hours remain in the day to discuss and prosecute before night falls.

For all we know it could be a mark of domination that allows whoever placed that mark to recruit that person into their faction.
(RJ himself stated a couple pages earlier that this is a doom mark, to clarify how it works. Think Arsonist from Salem.)

"For someone trying to avoid hysterics, you are certainly sounding a little hysterical, Suki dear. Calm yourself. And if you're wondering about what I was whispering to Ikumi about, you can refer back to what I said earlier - y'know - when I explained what I had been whispering about." Miyuki winked at Suki.

"Anyway, it's getting late. I suppose there's not going to be a vote this early after all. Let's prepare ourselves for this dark night, my beautiful fellow maidens, and let us hope that our sacred abilities are enough to thwart the darkness."

Re: DTT Revival - Game 1 ; Night 2

The wolves sing their night symphony as the red moon rises. The Maidens return to their quarters, hoping to survive the night.

(It is now night. PM me your night actions.)

Night ends in 12 hours. If you do not make an action, you will do nothing!

(I've added Role Block Immune and Night Immune roles to the First Post of this thread, since it was asked for. I am also performing Night Actions now.)

Day 3

The sun rose. The rays of daylight were enough to rouse the maidens from their rooms to find safety and comfort in the open air. However, not everyone was able to enjoy a good night's rest as yet another victim was hanging on a cross, covered in demonic seed and forming a puddle on the ground as seed oozed out from her lower holes.

Miyuki the Shinto Healer has been raped by the 'Fhalma!

As well, the soulless body of a maiden laid in the hallway, attacked and murdered.

Yamane the Cultist Illusionist was attacked and killed by the Shinto Warden!

"Oh gods.... Help us!" Suki said as she saw that one of their own had been raped again, this time Miyuki. She turned her gaze immediately upon Keiko, eyes burning with tears. "She must have done this! For the argument yesterday!" she said, pointing an accusing finger, "burn her! We must burn her!"

Keiko looks at the bodies sadly, then shakes her head at Suki. "Sister, I understand why you might think so, but it is impossible for me to have done either deed. I was spirited away to a secret place last night, to answer the questions of the masked Interrogator." She sighs, then begins the heartbreaking work of cleaning the bodies and moving them to their final resting place.

After searching her room, Miyuki's will was found.

Miyuki said:
Night 1, Protected Suki

Night 2, Visited Yomi

Vaiza came out, drinking her water bottle, before spitting it out at the sight. "Not again! Two?! Wait..." She moved over past Miyuki and checked the other body. "Wow, Yamane was a cultist? I don't know who got her, but uh... Good instincts I guess. That's one less threat. Still, Yamane, how could she turn like that..."

She shook her head and went to Miyuki's room and returned with the will. "She visited Yomi last night and never came back. That's more suspicious than Keiko, assuming Keiko was correct about being grabbed by the Interrogator."

"A likely story!" the enraged shrine maiden retorts, tearing up even harder as Miyuki's will is revealed and she found that the other woman had protected her before her brutal rape had left her in such a state. "You lie! If not you, who else would have targeted Miyuki after she spoke out against you!?"

Re: DTT Revival - Game 1 ; Day 3

"If the Interrogator hadn't visited me, and I claimed that she had, then I'd be signing my own death warrant. The Interrogator could visit me again, tonight, and silence me for good. I know you're upset, but think about it and you'll agree--it would make no sense."
