Re: Anthophobia

I played an earlier demo before then got the latest one.

Its now faster. The lighting doesn't slow the game anymore.
Yeah, its really smooth now. I love it.
Seems to have smart elements in it, like shooting the lights.
I only played a bit but there has to be more than that right?

I still think the two-stage jump is ridiculous though.
The jumping enemies with their dicks out, funny by the way.
I thought the theme of the enemies were 'plant-like' and would capture in a similar fashion.
I never heard of buildings with gas lighting.

In the full version:
Is there a zoom in?
Disable the lights but still darken the room and add a flashlight for an item use?
What do you mean zoom in?
There is the light stick item that can light dark area, and use it to direct cat-plant girl.

On the full version, Once you beat the game, Pixel animation room will be unlocked. :D

Feeding her glow stick will make her Glow-in-the-dark female zombie XD

I mean, in the options I can disable the light effect but it makes everything brighter.

If I enable it, everything becomes dark but I somehow got a flashlight in front of me.

So an option where everything becomes dark and without the light effect in front.

Wait, I'm getting confused. @_@;;
so you want completely darkness?? with zero lights?

Well of course the lamps are still there and the circular light around the character. Just no cone shaped light in front except maybe if the player found a flash light.

For the fire when you shoot down a light make a two-stage for it. First stage, it harms everyone, second is small fire that lasts for a long time but not harmful just so it gives off a little light and not disappear quickly.

That sound like a completely different game mode, and sound extremely difficulit, reminds me more of alone in the dark, then the biohazard feel that the game seems to be going for.

Re: Anthophobia

Well as far as I understand things, the option to turn off the lighting effects (ie, the darkness) is there for performance reasons for those that need it. An option to just remove only the flashlight probably wouldn't change much in that regard.

I can't say I'd be up for playing the game entirely in the dark myself. Sounds a bit masochistic. But I had actually thought about how it could be cool to include the light and dark in some degree of minor stealth gameplay. The zombies are plants afterall, that like light, so it would be interesting if you occasionally found sluggish half asleep ones that wouldn't attack or notice you as long as you moved slowly and didn't shine a light on them or cause any other commotion. So you'd get moments where you might want to turn your torch off and try to sneak past, at the risk of not being able to see other dangers very well. (And a fun panic moment if you wake them all up whilst right in the middle of it all)

Obviously the game is just hitting release already and likely a bit late for things like that, but might be a fun thought for the sequel. : )

I don't know if anyone noticed the opening post being changed but the game is now up for sale on Kimochi.

Great news; went ahead and bought it. Thanks for the heads up.

Edit: I'd like to report at least one bug that I've seen so far; my female zombie companion seems to have disappeared in the middle of the room that's before the one with the generator you have to restart (i.e. the one with the two generators you can't interact with). It shows her little bar if I'm in the middle of the room, but she's nowhere to be found and leaving/re-entering the room doesn't fix it. Now she's gone and I'm heartbroken.

It's this part of the room, to be exact:

Second edit: I accidentally threw a glowstick in another room after that glitch and now I can hear her making her cute little noises even though she's still nowhere to be found. She's obviously haunting me now.

Think Sourjelly is going to work on the big update, before a sequel?

Yeah, it is late.
Well, might as well play it as it is.

Its just that, from the looks, it looks like a horror game with the MC crying and all in the banner.
The only thing that makes me creep out is the sounds though.

Re: Anthophobia

Bit of a bug I found is that if you open the second door before the boss and after the generator on the third level, and then decide to go back up and explore again, the second door will not open when you return. I thought I had missed something and went back and searched everywhere again. Only upon restarting the checkpoint was I able to open it again.

Re: Anthophobia

Just finished it. The animations are great, as expected, and the addition of sounds really makes a difference (loved the voice clips that were used). The game was surprisingly tough at some points, even on the easy difficulty - be advised that there are at least two enemies that have automatic game over attacks: the big white flower thing that first appears in the second stage (you can sneak by him) as well as the final boss.

Another random thought is that I liked the fact that two of the bosses' animations actually included nipples on the protagonist.

Re: Anthophobia

No, I didn't get them all. I'm assuming they don't unlock anything animation-wise, which is all I'm usually after when I play these games.

If anyone else just wants to see the animations, the attached save should let you do that (you have to put it under C:\Users\Your User Name Here\AppData\Local\Anthophobia). I don't have all of the game over CGs because I didn't get any of them while playing through it and grew a little tired of trying to go back through and losing to everything (plus it's past midnight here).

I'm assuming SourJelly won't mind if I upload it since it's just a save and not the actual game, but if you do have a problem with it, just let me know and I'll remove it.

I think that is planned with a 1.5 update maybe. Also nice job with finishing the game so fast.

Re: Anthophobia

One of the best adult games I played so far, and who puts a lot of other games of the same genre to shame. Albeit it can be hard at some points, even at easy difficulty, the animations are detailed and well-done (kudos for the animations of the white flower thing and the second boss).
You're left wanting more of this, and I'll certainly watch any new update or sequel that would come.
