This game is simply about a fairy fighting bad stuff in her forest, including other fairies and things like plants and spiders... you will be able to collect new skills and spells as well as upgrade the ones you have.




demo version 0.1 (2 enemy types) (oops, updated)

(+1 enemy type, increased movement speed, and enemy healthbars, blink ability to be tested)

this is an early demo but it should give a general idea of combat in the game. it only consists of 2 screens for now... and your computer needs to be able to handle surfaces

later on the game will have multiple skills you can equip and assign to your mouse, for now there is only the normal attack and a test bomb ability which costs a lot of MP

it's the result of my first experimentation with bone animation and spriter pro.


controls

wasd to move
left click to shoot
right click to use bomb spell
(currently x is jump but it doesnt have much of a use yet)


features animated loss screens, undecided on there being cg yet
loss screen example

this is a work in progress and still needs a proper background drawing for it

features not yet added
simple clothing damage



in general, i'd like to know what people feel about her movement and attacks, as well as what people would like to see in the game.

it's gonna be 3-4 months at least before i have what i need to finish princess ren returns, which i just released another demo for...
so I plan on getting this game finished preferably in the next 2 months

mega link is down... for some reason.
I took it down because dying caused a crash because of the thing that draws the hp bars...now that object dies when you do, so no issue

Oh okay that's good. I was scared it was a mega.co crackdown or something.

12/10 would let the rape train arrive again. Also, is this one of those random "no plot, just porn" games?

I could implement a rudimentary text system, but im not sure yet
currently my idea is bad stuff is in her forest and she's not happy about what it wants to do to her...

there's also gonna be a cave area most likely... but its really bare bones in my head...oh and the reason theres no grapples is i thought it would slow the game down, though i wouldnt mind it with bosses

I hate grapple systems as much as some other people might, so you won't hear any complaints from me if it absent. A cave area sound neat, though it is a bit cliche. Still, something that does a cliche well is better than something that does something original and fails. The plot sounds pretty standard fare, but I might suggest implementing maybe a beginning-of-level checklist of stuff the player needs to do (if you're planning to put more in the game aside "kill monsters, eat sandwiches") and some optional stuff. If that's not the plan, I'm sure no text/dialogue is fine.

its just if i have a cave area i can have groups of enemies start off on the ceiling and dive down when you get near... also have spider eggs that hatch into enemies if you don't kill them fast enough

it was gonna be pour exp into improving stuff, though it would've been upgrading each spell seperately... oh though mp recovery would be one that you can upgrade...but it will be like you can improve range and stuff,
though as speed goes i planned on having one of the spells be that dash attack the fairies use...either that or a blink with a bomb at the spot you arrive at


though for your other request...



will be reflected in the next update

oh yeah, should i make it so up and down movement is just as fast as left and right? i did it at half cause of the birds eye view but if it would be more fun that way i can change it

Depend on enemies, if enemies speed up/down and left/right is the same speed.
MC should be the same for fair.

i'll see if boosting the base speed is enough to make it feel more fun...

edit: it did! but its also a bit too easy now

Hmmm... Not a bad start. Only real issue I see is AI. It just kinda charges the player, leaving a large empty map to cross after you beat the initial wave.

the amount of enemy types is a problem currently, but once i have mages and healers that should change somewhat. just currently the only enemies are close range

For me, it's more fun if MC move faster and flexible. It's feel like playing air force game but change to cute fairy :rolleyes:

You can make faster enemies, horde of slow enemies (example horde of zombies) or evade bullet storm in later stages.

well yeah but i was gonna introduce a dash/blink spell for that sort of thing later on anyway.
at some point i need to give the middle mouse button a spell too anyway :3

if i make it a blink move then there ought to be a small cooldown of a second or so...and you shouldnt be able to go through solids which is just a matter of checking
