But it seemed that way when I used other programs too, so it might just come back after a while like it did before. God, I hate this. I have too much stuff at risk here and no place to create a backup. It's driving me nuts.

CC? Are you talking about CCleaner, because that thing is NOT for malware removal. It just cleans out your temp files, internet history, and other things like that.
Actually google drive is both more convenient and more useful than OneDrive, at least from what I can see. But that doesn't help when it's a case of PEBCAK. Reverting to previous version doesn't help when someone uploads an entire new document with all their changes on that document while you've been editing the old one...Try google drive maybe? Yes. Well, whatever it's for it seems to have worked. Maybe cleaning the registry was what did it. I don't know. Either way, it's fixed. For now. Hopefully for good. I'll keep that ubuntu thing around though. Just in case. Thanks again.
Exactly, even most viruses avoid it.
If it's slow, that's only because you're booting from Live-DVD(or Live-USB). In actual use, it's faster than Windows. And using Linux would mean pretty much never having to worry about malware again. Oh, and most drivers are included right in the kernel, unlike with Windows, so no need to worry about those, either(well, except some wireless cards and you might need to install proprietary drivers if you use Nvidia GPU).

It just looks and feels wrong. I prefer Windows. Anyway, not my PC so I can't go around installing different OSs on it. Plus, like I said, I'm trying to avoid a full re-installation. I guess I'll just have to deal with it until it gets worse and I inevitably have to reinstall Windows again. Besides, knowing my luck I'd probably get something on that other OS anyway. Wish you would've told me it was an OS before I wasted a disc though. XD
