I'm stuck in the second forest. What do I need to put on the pedestal? I can't find anything. The guardian bee beats me by 1HP.

I don't quite remember, but I think the reason he had to separate them was because of memory limitations within the engine he's using. He never intended two versions, so maybe if he ports it to a different engine.

Version A is going to be only tweaks and bug fixes from now on. All entirely new content will be in B.

There's a couple things to do in the plains area and a bunch more to do in the spooky place.

Pretty sure nothing can be done with any of those. You can get about half the key items but do nothing with them as far as I can tell.

Turns out you start with the grappling hook but it's invisible. It's in the fourth slot. Use it like you would the charm and the pickaxe. Though, beware: there's a couple entrances (accessible by grappling) that bug the game out. Make sure to save often.

Re: Trainer 2.5 I'm having trouble launching this. It opens for a split second and closes. It displays "Error:attempt to call nil value" twice before closing. Any ideas?
