After that, Lena journeyed onward with John, whom she made some small talk with a little bit before he started opening up and sharing his story with her. Lena smiled and listened to all he had to say, and smiled, telling him of her own family back in the capital, and how she, like her elder sisters before her, ventured out into the world. "I really miss my family, and the capital. One day, I'd like to return, but I Really do want to see the world. I just wish... that Jaime could have been here with me right now. But, I think she'd want me to go, for the both of us, so that's one reason I'm going. You take care of your family, John, you take good care of them," Lena told him on the fourth day as they traveled, always keeping a watchful eye out around them for John while he drove the wagon.

That night, she heard rustling during her watch, and slipped her arm into position to lift her shield and then hefted her spear up too, before she gently shook John. "John... something's following us. I don't know what, but better safe than sorry. Here, take this dagger, and wait in cover here. I'll go check it out," Lena whispered to the young man, lightly stepping towards the rustling and bushes. "Who goes there?!! I'm not deaf, I can hear you in those bushes," Lena calls out in challenge, keeping her shield raised and ready to block, and keeping her spear ready just in case.

John grumbles out a reply, starting to wake up and gather his senses as you grab your weapons and move towards the rustling. As you approach a figure, too dark to see, darts away from the bush suddenly and away from Lena.

Lena gasped and darted off after the figure. "Hey, wait. Freeze! Freeze means stop!" Lena called after the figure, chasing after whoever it was, and watching her footing, but she wouldn't chase too far before heading back to the camp, where she'd keep a Very close eye out for whoever, or whatever it was.

As you move through the brush you feel the prick of a thorn or something similar, the bush apparently is barbed? It doesn't slow you but whatever you chased was quick and vanished into the woods.

After the figure vanished from sight, Lena grumbled a bit and winced a bit as the bush she'd ran through had a thorn that had jabbed her in her pursuit of whoever or whatever that had been. "Hmm... guess I'll just have to be more watchful at night, maybe set some traps to try and catch whoever that was. If it's someone tailing us, then they're Definitely trying to rob the wagon," Lena mumbled to herself as she hurried back to the camp, where John was still seeming to be waking up, while Lena sat back down and set her shield down on her left side, and her spear on her right.

"It's alright for now John, I think whoever it was is gone now. But... listen for anything else in the night, because whoever it was will probably be back. And something pricked me in those bushes over there. I wasn't expecting them to have thorns, but I guess they did," Lena said to John as she reached down to rub the spot that had gotten pricked and trying to lean around to check it out using the campfire's light.
