Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Again, and I can't believe I have to repeat this: My list was about the "class", not the individual units. While most samurai have niche uses and can be fairly powerful under the right situation, it is not because they are samurai. When you boil it down, samurai are defined by three things:
-Fairly high cost
-High attack, medium/low defense
-Hit all blocked enemies
Hitting all blocked enemies would make them a great sweeper class against early goblin/wolf/imp rushes, but their cost makes this impractical. They have fairly low defense, so they cannot serve well as a tank, and if their skill makes them good at tanking, they are no longer sweeping (with the only exception being Hibari). In other words, there is little to no synergy between the class and the units themselves.

No, I definitely saw that 'the fundamentals of the unit may be strong, but the class is weak' thing. Samurai really aren't plagued by lack of practicality even as a class like they used to be. Their defense is in general not bad when compared to many units with similar roles(mage armor, heavy artillery - both of which have higher costs). Certainly their defense looks underwhelming compared with the new heavy armor defense, but heavy armors needed some leverage over other units, given how underused they were compared to the likes of, say, Hibari.

The 'become one block' feature of several of the samurai is admittedly a bit strange, but it wouldn't be the first class that has a transformational role, either. You could even argue that it's on theme, with their whole identity of being warriors on the battlefield as well as in private duels. At this point it's better to just treat this as one of the potential samurai characteristics and consider 'dueling skills' as a part of what it means to be a member of the samurai class.

For sailors, I cannot say much, as I barely use them. I have a Rinbel for Vepar and an Amelie that I raised when I wanted to put together a pirate-team, and I haven't used either of them outside of that narrow niche because they are just not very good at their intended job when compared to my other melee support units, and they are weak and fragile when their skill is down.

What are your 'other' melee support units?

Math doesn't lie - these units have solid AoE dps for a very low cost with reasonably solid uptime. If you're comparing them to blacks like Berna or Kayou, or units with much higher cost, that's sort of missing the point to begin with. Sure they're squishy, but you get what you pay for and they have to have a downside somewhere, and melee supports are generally skill reliant anyway.

I didn't want to pick dark priests because I don't have any, and I don't want to speak just from looking at their stats on paper, while necromancers are... you know what? If you are really against samurai being on the list, necromancers can pretty much replace them, as they suffer from similar issues. They are supposed to be the heavy-hitter, long-range magic damage dealers of the game with plenty of tokens, but other classes like druids, merchants and even demon summoners make them redundant. I can't even remember the last time I used Metus either for her DPS or her tokens.

The primary point I was hinting at in that paragraph is that you can argue that a lot of classes are nebulously flawed if you're really looking to. There's really only a small set of classes that are inherently strong and weak in practice, though. Judgment calls on unit quality only really starts to become meaningful when you take a look at their individual abilities in most cases. To be a definitively awful class is to suggest that even a 'fair' black in that class may have trouble being good without going above and beyond and giving them some crazy skill, in my opinion, and that's quite a tall order with how units are designed in this game.

Hope that clarifies my thoughts a little.

Hmm, just curious, how frequent does the game release new exchange quests?

Every month or two. It's all dependent on artist availability so it's hard to predict what characters will get them though.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

New topic: Top 5 worst classes in the game, and how to fix them.

#5: Samurai:

#4: Sailors:

#3: Enchanters:

#2: Avengers:

#1: Curse Users:

As many above I can't agree on Samurais belonging to the list. I wanted a good samurai long before Hibari and even now I would not mind a second one. Since we are talking about class not individual units - the cleave damage which they offer is extremely useful and something that is hard to replace outside of some premium black units. Yes they overlap with frontline strategists a bit (though strategists have lower stats + support skill instead of combat skill). Also Anya is a great unit that steps into their territory. Having said that, class concept is fine and they will likely get the small stat boost with 2nd aw.

I'm personally not too fond of Sailors as well, yet I see them used a lot. Their role is cheap unit in melee spot with AoE. There are some units/classes that fill similar role though it is Sailors that are more popular in Majin maps (not only Vepar). Sailors have great synergy with dancers, and buffing them too much could make them broken.

The other three units, I guess have the same 'problem' - they are beginner units. If you only have few decent ranged units, giving all of them magic attack is great. But for more developed accounts, you just gain more DPS by deploying another magic or true-damage unit, on top of already deployed units that have magic damage in first place. I have used Roana a lot in early days, because she was able to solo very strong units - ones I couldn't outheal. But now, I use her only for her status immunity, as I can burst or tank better. Similar story for curse users - at some point I needed to level Mitra just to be able to tank something. Now I would deploy black iris instead.

All in all I think it is fine for unit to only be useful for less developed accounts, with niche roles (like stopping golems) for advanced accounts. The game is very old already, and we can't have all unit types being useful for all levels of advancement.

From the list imho avangers are in really bad spot right now. But there are some classes with very few units in it (Youko, dark stalker, dragon warrior, royal guard, sword master), that I find even worse thought-out and having more of an identity crisis, than the ones listed.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

I was busy the last weeks and I arrived late to the discussion of the classes but this what I think:

#5
I don't think samurai is that bad and is true that others offer theirs perks but not until AW or AW2.

#4
For me they have their use but also that before I left they were kind a bad and the only reason I used one was because I was weak that every bit of extra damage helped but now they have a type multiplier and AoE on skill.

#3
I can't comment much because I don't have one but only by stats they seem bit costly for what they offer I would reduce their cost by 2-3. But also the recent buff to runefencers have put in a very tight spot single magic dealers unless you can't tank the enemy.

#2

The devs only need to give them that their multipliers also applied to Def and suddenly you have a decent class with a niche in tanking fast hitting bosses. Probably they'll need to rebalance their defence and reduce it by 20-25%.

#1

I think the devs should make that they can do true damage they have a slow attack speed so they wouldn't be too strong, increase their cost by 8-10. Actually they could swap stats and atk spd with enchanters and now enchanters converts in especialist against golems with a true damage atk.

Was doing some numbers with Aoba and Resel with a 1000 Def enemie and each with AW skill, max stats & prince buff (dps is by cycle with both damage in CW and inside skill):

Resel

355.09 dps
676.28 dps orcs
Aoba

369.82 dps
772 dps yokais

In conclusion both are very similar with Resel being super strong against mid def enemies and Aoba decent against very high def that could put her in a weird position of golem killer but would need the help of a dancer for the stronger golems, I don't know if she can out range the golem range atk.

The existence of Straight-to-Gay Porn is justification to be homophobic.
Gay scientists that watch too much straight-to-gay porn are currently working around the clock to create a magical drug that can be diluted in drinks or injected by means of blow-dart needles to turn young, straight men gay. If you're lying in bed having nightmares that your son is turning gay when your actual fear is really that you, yourself, are turning gay, then perhaps...
Though, don't get too conceited. If you're not attractive and super hot like TieSKey, no one is going to sneak up behind you as you wash a vintage sports car without your shirt on, caressing your abdomen as the straight-to-gay-fetishist slowly unbuckles your genuine leather belt that has the buckles that are riveted on, working their gay magic hands to turn you from straight to gay.
This happens to TiesKey on a bi-weekly basis, but the joke is on the straight-to-gay molester. TieSKey is already gay and will poke their eyes out with his highly-ornamented, and shockingly average, penis.
If you ever walk into a gay bar and see any gay men sporting eye-patches, they're probably some of the gay men that tried to accost TieSKey and wound up dicksicled by TieSKey's freshly-frozen weiner.
The eye-patches could also help you differentiate the good homos from the bad ones that will domestically abuse you immediately after your hastily-thrown-together gay marriage, air-juggling you with karate kicks into shelves and furniture until you develop Stockholm Syndrome.
The story of Sodom and Gomorrah was written by a gay man who kept getting harassed by his abusive boyfriend that hounded him for anal sex while he was tired and had a migraine. The angels represents the gay writer and the ideal boyfriend he wished he had, the city's inhabitants represent the boyfriend and his migraine-inducing friends, and the woman who turns into a pillar of salt represents the Proto-Yaoi Fujoshi that couldn't mind her own business.
If you find it hard to believe this story was written by a gay man because of the scene where the father somehow impregnates his daughters while he's blacked out after consuming copious volumes of alcohol, then I would like to suggest for your reading pleasure such classics as the 'The Gay Peeper' by Hal Kantor ( ; the author obviously has envy-inducingly hairy knuckles).
Don't ever have sex; you'll become pregnant like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and then die~!!!
This is what happened to Creeping_Terror, he's now a Ghost Dad that's following arbitrary Ghost Rules while he makes ends meet at his Ghost Job before returning home to his family in his Ghost House.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Well it was fun while it lasted, like those christmas chocolate doors, then you open your fridge and find out six months later it's still there in the back.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Didn't start until last April, so first Aigis Valentine's event for me. Just curious about the chocolate gifts, what is the significance of receiving chocolates from specific girls? Aren't the chocolates all the same or are some girls' chocolates better than others? Several pages back there were some who actually went so far as to add exp to completely maxed units, and that wasn't making too much sense to me.

So each piece of chocolate will just completely refill stamina, regardless of who/what unit actually gave you the chocolate?

if petite is to be trusted and he usually is yes

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Thanks for the response. I also just ran across soranokira's news post on Discord, so that basically answered my questions as well. As one who does not really care who the chocolate actually came from, guess I'll just wait to be surprised...

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

since paal mentioned it, this is what i had for nutaku aigis:

Total: either 9 or 10 chocolates (1 anna chocolate per day, with 3 chocolates (from girls) only on Valentine's day itself)
Chocolates are only for waifu-purposes; no difference whoever you get them from.
Chocolates are free stamina refills (amount refilled is the same as using SC to refill stamina); take note that they take effect once withdrawn from present box
Chocolate priority is as follows:
- 100% affection
- total exp given to the girl (may include pre-AW, pre-CC exp) (assuming the inclusion is true, units with no CC will then have lower total exp i.e. AW80 nanaly > AW84 sybilla, and AW81 aisha > AW87 maribel)

slight changes here due to secretary chocolate instead of it all being anna chocolate

It shouldn't include experience accumulated from previous forms.

jGOKqRJm.png

grfhQ16m.png

Olivia has remained on the top spot, despite Eterna and Liselotte accumulating more experience from their base and class changed forms.

One reason why this is done is so that it's easier for people to get the experience required for base form units. As long as a unit has the most experience accumulated in it's current form, then they will give you a chocolate. It's also so that you don't have to feed much more experience than necessary. It's stupid if you have to feed 150k + 50k exp on top of a max level base form special class unit if you want them to give you a chocolate because you fed someone else a Happy/Joy Fairy.

Re: Aegis Thousand Year War - DMM Online Game

Chocolates are a subtle sanity test,

...those passing (and thus be declared sane) by not attributing absurd or disturbing importance to the digital picture of the waifu on it...

Should probably not be on this forum.
