After a long wait, Crisis Point: Extinction's new public demo is finally ready and available for everyone to play! Thank you all so much for your patience and interest!

This 2019 demo contains a similar amount of content as the old v0.13 public beta, with both ending after the game's 2nd major boss fight, but this new demo has loads of new content like CGs, some improved H-scenes, cutscenes, full voice acting, improved artwork and animations, and new gameplay mechanics. We've spent as much time and effort as we could polishing the game to make it shine as brightly as we knew it could, and I believe our efforts have paid off - but don't just take my word for it, check the demo out and see for yourself using the link above! If you're new to Crisis Point, here's some more information about the game itself, if you want to see more about it before trying it for yourself!


The gameplay of Crisis Point revolves around exploration and finding new abilities, ranging from an explosive blaster to an aerial jump. Powering yourself up will enable you to access new areas and even more powerups, but with new environments comes new threats, and throughout the adventure you'll get to see a huge variety of sexual content, from in-game sprite animated sex scenes, to high-resolution Visual Novel-esque CG sequences.

Fetishes in the game include, but are not limited to: futanari, breast expansion, light corruption, tentacles, egg laying, light cum inflation (some potentially objectionable fetishes can be toggled off)






Sexual content in Crisis Point is all consensual - those expecting Game Over Rape, as is the typical style of sexual content in action-platformers, will not find it here. During the game, the player has the ability to entice non-boss enemies for sex at any moment, which will result in one of the sprite sex scenes above, and heal the player for a small amount of health on climax. In addition to this, certain enemies and environment traps (not many right now - more to come in the future) will release spores which heighten Alicia's libido, causing her to lose control and become wildly horny. When this happens, she'll drop to her knees and begin masturbating on the spot, which will also invite any nearby enemies to come have sex with her, meaning not all H-scenes must be explicitly player-initiated. Aside from the sprite sex content, there are high-resolution Visual Novel-esque CG sequences with full voice acting and small bits of lore (like the Tentacle scene linked above) that can be accessed shortly after reaching the game's 2nd area. By capturing enemies and sending them back to base camp, Alicia is able to have sex with those enemies in an effort to learn more about them, their mating habits, and the way the planet's atmosphere is affecting the minds and behaviours of the warped military soldiers and scientists.



Once you finish playing, if you're itching for more, and get access to a bunch of Patron-only exclusives, like new playable demos every 2 months, a .zip containing all of our game CGs at 1080p+ resolution, a standalone gallery with all of the sprite H-scene animations, and more! I've been developing the game successfully for years using Patreon for funding, and thanks to our Patrons, I've been able to move from being a solo developer to working with a team of people to cover my weaknesses, which has improved the quality of the game dramatically. Still, because of the huge amount of assets we need, I'm currently unable to afford hiring anyone but myself full-time - with your support, we'll be one step closer to creating a team of full-time developers and not only delivering a much better product, but at a much faster pace.


PLANNED CONTENT INCLUDES:
-5 UNIQUE AREAS EACH CONTAINING:

-3 unique enemy types and a boss fight
-Original music made just for the game

-Unlock new abilities and weapons to help you explore and fight enemies!
-Customize your blaster by choosing up to two of over a dozen modifications!

Man has this come a long way. Went back and played one of the early versions I had still lying around and it's a world apart. Of course some people will decry the amount of H-content added across all that time (not counting CGs of course because why would they?), but it's really hard to appreciate exactly what it takes to create something of this magnitude until one has tried it for themself. It's great to have reached this milestone and I'm looking forwards to what comes next!

Thank you so much, man! That really means a lot. I'm used to the complaints about not adding much H-content at this point; I understand where it's coming from, but I want Crisis Point to be a great game, too, not just fap material, and I wasn't satisfied with how the game part was shaping up originally, which is why the rework was focused on that part of the game. At the end of the day, I have an amazing group of supporters that have stood by my choices and allowed me to put my focus where I feel it's most needed, so I don't have much to complain about. And hey, now that The Great Rework™ is over, more H-content will definitely be coming! I haven't been this excited for our future in a long time.

Hey everybody! Now that v0.34 has officially begun development, it's time to get back to our regular weekly update schedule. I've got a few things to show off this week, so let's get started!




First off is a short cutscene at the beginning of the game, after the intro text crawl, which you can view by going to the youtube link above. This scene is still a bit WIP, as I want to add some foley sound effects to it, and possibly change one of Alicia's poses - I also have a CG sequence planned that'll go between the text crawl and this cutscene, to give further context to Alicia's ship crashing, but this scene alone should improve things a bit!

Next up is the Caves tileset rework, which I showed off a little bit a while back. Left is old, right is new. I was doing the original rework myself, but Puffernutter recently took over and has been hard at work redoing everything. It's not quite finished yet, and we want to make some changes to make it look a bit less busy, but it brings the Caves tileset closer inline with the rest of the game artistically, despite being a relatively subtle change.

Last up, we have a little teaser for our new enemy that will be coming in v0.34! This guy will show up first in the Catacombs, and he's the replacement for the Hellhound I've been talking about, at least gameplay-wise. He'll have completely new H-scenes, as you can probably tell by how different his design is. It's possible only the regular H-scene will be ready for v0.34, depends on how much Orexius manages to get done, but I'll keep you updated on that front.

I haven't played this in forever; the new demo was a surprise in how far the game seems to have progressed as a working... thing. It's really well done, the art, sound, and VAs are leagues above any other lewd kind of game that I can remember. Which is kind of a thing. I like the lewd stuff, but the H gameplay feels like it doesn't quite mesh with the platforming and gunning. Like, I was never tempted to use the sex-healing when jumping around a shooting. Killing everything also generally seemed to provide enough health to not have to rely on the mechanic at all. I kind of wonder if y'all wouldn't be able to market it to a wider audience if you ditched the explicit content. I mean, it'd suck for us here, but the actual platforming and atmosphere are good enough to stand on their own, I think, and the lewd stuff feels kind of tacked on so far.

Still though, it's really fun! I haven't gotten too far into the demo yet so maybe it comes together a little better further on.

Hey, I appreciate all the kind words man! It's a difficult balancing act, as I want players who want to be able to focus on gameplay to be able to do so without feeling like they're forced to do H-scenes - we do plan on making a SFW version of the game once it's finished, but we're definitely not ever going to scrap the lewd content. We plan on making lewd games for a long while after Crisis Point as well. I've spent a loooot of time thinking about it, and my personal design philosophy for H-games is that the gameplay and the H just don't really get along, at least not in a real-time action/platformer like this. H-content is mostly there for a player to jerk off to, and you can't really play a game while doing that - conversely, being forced to stop playing the game so you can watch an H-scene just breaks the flow of gameplay, if you aren't in the mood for it. Because of that, I want to incorporate the hentai into my H-games in a mostly non-gameplay (or at least a player-choice) way, with the porn more focused around the narrative and context of the game, which IMO is the strongest selling point of porn in games. That's why Crisis Point's plot introduces things like the atmosphere heightening everyone's libido, which will definitely lead to some sexual tension amongst the cast, as well as providing context for every time the player does choose to initiate an H-scene. Crisis Point will also have a number of H-scenes throughout the storyline to help accomplish that narrative/contextual H-scene integration, too.

For now, yeah, you're not wrong - the gameplay H-scenes are sort of tacked on, since we used to have the typical "game over rape" style - but I'm not about to get rid of all the sprite scenes, and in the future, we'll have more enemies that can raise Alicia's libido gauge, which makes her masturbate uncontrollably when it maxes out so the player will have to juggle that to avoid H-scenes if they aren't playing in SFW mode. In future games I'll be reexamining our options for porn content more, too, and likely using it as a reward for progression so I can tie it all into the narrative and spend more time making every scene longer and more special, rather than cramming in a bunch of simple looping animations with minimal amounts of context. You can kind of see what I'm aiming for with the CGs currently in the game - with each enemy's CG having not only their own poses, but also differing behaviors between enemies within those scenes, like the slime being strangely talented at pleasing a woman, or the tentacles being so eager and rough that Alicia can barely get a word in, resulting in her ending the scene unable to even speak. Those scenes not only have their own quirks like that, but are also tied into the context of the game by Birch, who asks Alicia to have sex with them for the sake of his research, and doing so will also unlock bestiary entries for enemies in the future as well. It's things like that that I want to focus on more; tying the porn content into the game's story and characters, rather than trying to combine gameplay and H together. Hopefully the small things like the libido gauge will help with the sprite loops feeling less tacked on, but hopefully you have a better idea of where I'm coming from and what my plans are now!

Yeah, that makes a good bit of sense - the balancing act between being porn and a game is a hard one. That's probably part of why the gor stuff is popular; it's really easy to make it feel like gameplay, even if it kind of detracts from the whole. I think having a 'sfw' version is probably the best idea, really. But I also like you wanting to tie the lewd stuff into an actual narrative- or context-driven direction. That's part of what makes it interesting rather than, as you said, just a bunch of sprite animations tied together with a bunch of (admittedly good) metrovania stuff. A reason to want to bang the random things that are trying to kill you beyond 'i get a little more health' in-game would be neat, even if it ends up being a bit contrived. I'm glad someone is trying to do this in a way that isn't 'oh no I lost now it's time to fuck,' although I think your lust meter approach is an interesting idea. Even if it doesn't do much on its own it does give the player a sense that there's a reason or drive to attempt the sex. The atmosphere being a thing making everyone kind of nuts is a great reason to take some liberties with reasoning, and a connection to in-game mechanics somehow would be pretty swell. I DO need to play further to get a feel for how some of the other stuff plays, but the worms are kicking my butt. I have such a weird, uniquely mixed feeling about your game that it's actually taking me a while to work through it, heh. However it goes, I look forward to more of your work.

I have to agree with Apathy again on this. a SFW version would do you much better, but no problem with having the NSFW version made available. You just need to make the clear distinction between the two.

Hey everybody, time for another Crisis Point: Extinction weekly development update! There's not too much visual to show off this week, a lot of the work done was on behind-the-scenes stuff or things that aren't too exciting, but lets get into the two things I do want to show off.


First is probably the more exciting of the two, and that's a new ability for Alicia being added in v0.34! The Omnidash, showcased in the video up above, is an upgrade for Alicia's Dash ability that allows you to dash in all 8 directions, rather than just horizontally. In the video you can see me dashing repeatedly, but in the actual game you can only dash once per jump - the ability to dash straight up allows you to massively increase your vertical exploration distance, though, and once we add the double jump ability back in, double jumping will refresh your dash, allowing you to chain Jump > Dash > Double Jump > Dash for some crazy mobility! It's a hell of a lot of fun to play with, imo, so hopefully you'll enjoy it too.



Next is a small teaser for an upcoming NPC. They're a little too nude for public Patreon posts, so you'll have to get by with this silhouette teaser for now ;) You might remember me mentioning that I wanted to add some NPCs that will require a pretty big overhaul of an area, and I wasn't sure if they would make it in time for this update. I'm still not confident it'll be done in time, so it's possible you won't see this NPC for some time, but this silhouetted lady is part of that big overhaul I was talking about. Extremely long-time followers might just be able to get some idea of who she is..


Alright, that's all for me this week. Sorry for the smaller update post, I spent a lot of my time this week working on something secret coming this update, as well as behind-the-scenes stuff like I mentioned above, and not everything that was done is really interesting enough to be in the update post. Hopefully next week's update will be a little more interesting, but one way or another everything needs to get done! i want to support you on your game dev but as of what now i myself am struggling with mine. i love to give 10 but as of right now that out of my price range. i have 3 on patron for the moment. hopfully after 3 more months maybe ill have my 10 i can give

Hey everybody, time for another weekly update! I looked over our to-do list for the rest of this update - and to be perfectly honest, it's looking like a lot of the rest of this update will be focused on non-visual things. I feel like I should let you all know that now, the next several updates probably won't have that much to show off visually (this one won't either), but there's still plenty being done, and there's a good chunk of new H-content coming this update too, including 2 brand new CGs and the Lurker H-scenes! With all that out of the way, let's move on to what we got done this week specifically.

Orexius has been hard at work animating the Lurker. He's fully functional in gameplay now, and so Orex was working on his normal (non-BE) H-scene, and he just finished up the loop today. Go ahead and have a gander!
For my part, I've been having trouble getting back in the swing of programming, not sure why, but I decided to spend this week doing other work for the game, like writing the two new CGs I mentioned were being added (the Lurker CG and another secret one), planning some stuff I need for this update, writing more environmental dialogues, etc. Most of my writing work will be focused around the NPC I posted two weeks ago and the things surrounding them, but I want to try and squeeze in at least a little bit of dialogue in other places too.

Alright, that's about it for this update. Remember to look for that Lurker H-scene if you're interested in seeing it - sorry again that this update is on the smaller side, but I am getting back into it, and I'm excited about the new content coming this update!

Before I end this post, I want to get it out into the world that I want to start doing streams again occasionally - I don't have a schedule yet, and ideally I'd like to stream with someone else like Orexius, since programming isn't all that exciting to watch, but I'll keep you all updated on that when I figure out something more concrete. You seriously need to go to Subscribestar or something and at least start a page there (an even strongly encourage your patrons to shift to that service) so you don't have to gut your whole game AGAIN when Patreon gets pissy again.

I have to agree with you on this one. Subscribestar is a better option for game designers at the moment. Patreon has shut down two of my favorite game makers now due to copyright things. They are using free music for their games but Patreon said no it is copyrighted. And the funny thing is both of them were making platform pg games.

Oh and a quick question about your patreon. It says you only get the build of the month you pledge? So after that do you not?

First off, I didn't "gut the whole game" at any point. As I've said at least a dozen times by now, I LIKE the changes we made to H-content, it's something I wanted to do far before Patreon's ToS change, I just wasn't going to because I knew it would upset people even though I wasn't happy with it myself. While I wasn't ecstatic about removing the Hellhound, it was something I already knew we would have to do eventually, because bestiality is such a grey area that even if Patreon themselves never had an issue with it, I knew someone somewhere would, and I was prepared for that possibility and not that upset about it because of that.

Second, I don't trust SubscribeStar or any of the Patreon alternatives even half as much as I trust Patreon. Believe it or not, as an outsider looking in, you're missing a lot of information on how Patreon operates, and for me as an adult creator on Patreon, they've proven to me time and time again that I can trust them enough that I won't wake up one day with my funding cut off, no second chances, no opportunity for recourse. Do I think they're perfect? God no, but I feel like I can trust them to be transparent and give people second chances if changes do have to be made. On top of that, almost all of the Patreon "competitors" pop up as a result of somebody being pissy at Patreon and wanting to make their OWN Patreon, but with blackjack and hookers, and thus they're typically created by people with no business sense, and commonly populated by insane political commentators who got kicked off of Patreon. Not exactly the kind of crowd I want to associate myself with.

Look, I know you're just trying to be helpful, but believe me when I say I've considered all of my options, and for the moment, I have no reason at all to ditch Patreon. I've been through at least a dozen "Patreon Apocalypse" scares, enough to know that all of them were grossly exaggerated and Patreon genuinely does care about adult creators. They would've booted us off of their platform completely long ago if they didn't, we don't make them enough money to be worth the hassle. As far as my game specifically goes, it seems that I could've left in the non-con if I really wanted to, as other games have kept non-con in and been fine - but again, those changes are ones I WANTED to make. You don't have to believe me, I'm sure plenty of you don't, but it doesn't change that I am significantly happier with where the game is at now because of the H-content changes, and I wouldn't change them back even if I knew with 100% certainty I wouldn't get in trouble for it.

Would you mind linking me to those two creators pages? I'm sorry, but I don't really believe that Patreon would outright ban people for something that minor when I've seen people get temporary suspensions for doing much worse things.

And yes, you only get builds while you're pledged. After that you won't get playable builds unless you continue to pledge, but if you pledge $10+ over the course of development you'll receive a copy of the final game when it's complete, even if you stop pledging.

Patreon screwed them over by locking their account for nearly a year, withholding revenue, and completely wiping their page of all posts. Plus, from what I've researched, Patreon has raised their fees a lot compared to other services.

Okay I will admit, gutted is an incorrect term. What I should have said is "You completely ruined any chance you had at building immersion" You don't go to a planet teeming with lust filled creatures and NOT get raped. Now if it wasn't a planet filled with pheromones or whatever then you have somewhat of an excuse, but you screwed yourself over with your setting.

it's a good game, new demo is great, it plays well. your game (if an sfw version is ever made) would not feel out of place on the switch, ps4 or what have you. in fact its better than alot of the stuff other indie devs make. it really, genuinely stands up there. snappy, quippy dialogue, solid game feel, doesn't look like "muh artstyle" oversimplified trash like party hard or wizard of legend; it stands tall. a very important distinction must be made however, you over corrected in one particular direction, because its a great game, but not a very good hentai game. it falls into "real game" now.

for the hentai that is there....ehhh, more of a fan of GOR than sex to heal, like you had in the previous builds. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to active the game over sex scenes, on enemies or bosses. i know theyre there. i seen em...in previous builds.

To clear up a misconception that's been going around for a while now, Grimhelm had planned to pause/close his Patreon a bit before they locked down his account for content review. He had fallen behind in development and didn't want to receive money while not producing significant updates. After a year+ of radio silence he returned with that massive update and reopened his Patreon, albeit completely devoid of his old posts.
Unless Patreon was still drawing payment from his patrons while it was locked down there's no foul play on Patreon's part.

As far as Grimhelm goes, a cursory google around shows that he had NSFW content visible on his public-facing page, which is one of the biggest red flags and Patreon will absolutely issue suspensions for it. As far as locking it for nearly a year, that means literally nothing unless we know exactly WHY it was suspended, and more importantly, why it took that long to be unsuspended. Suspended Patreon accounts remain permanently suspended until the creator works with Patreon to fix whatever issues lead to suspension, so if the creator just doesn't respond, then it's not unusual for pages to remain suspended long-term. I also haven't heard of Patreon ever wiping posts; it's far more likely that Grimhelm himself decided to wipe his posts in an attempt to get Patreon to unsuspend his page. Also, Patreon hasn't raised their fees ever, to my knowledge, so I honestly don't know what you're talking about there.

It's only been a few updates since the H-mechanic changes, and I have plans to make it fit the game better - like making Alicia masturbate when she runs out of HP to imply her "health" is more of a "willpower" stat, adding more enemies that cause libido to raise through their combat mechanics, implementing more H-content in the storyline, etc. Maybe don't jump to telling me I screwed myself when we're nowhere near finished. I've detailed all of this shit in the past, I don't know why people are so determined on pretending I have no plans at all to incorporate H into the game better.

it's a good game, new demo is great, it plays well. your game (if an sfw version is ever made) would not feel out of place on the switch, ps4 or what have you. in fact its better than alot of the stuff other indie devs make. it really, genuinely stands up there. snappy, quippy dialogue, solid game feel, doesn't look like "muh artstyle" oversimplified trash like party hard or wizard of legend; it stands tall. a very important distinction must be made however, you over corrected in one particular direction, because its a great game, but not a very good hentai game. it falls into "real game" now.

for the hentai that is there....ehhh, more of a fan of GOR than sex to heal, like you had in the previous builds. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to active the game over sex scenes, on enemies or bosses. i know theyre there. i seen em...in previous builds.
For your complaints about our H-content, see what I said above. For the game over scenes, you can access them shortly after entering the Summit area; they're no longer game over scenes, but they're all still available in the game, just in a different way. (If you've already gone into the Summit, then you probably just missed the dialogue explaining it - after defeating an enemy you "capture" them, and you can talk to Birch back at camp to view CGs.)
