With the hostile vibe he'd been putting off, in an effort to warn Leena, Roger was caught off guard when Leena suddenly forced a kiss on him, pulling him down a little by the back of his neck so that their lips could meet. A part of Roger didn't want Leena going down that road, but there was nothing he could do, if she was acting just as stubborn as he always is, and so he returned the deep, passionate kiss, until she felt satisfied.

Once their lips parted, Roger looked at Leena directly in the eyes, his ice blue eyes staring back at her beautiful brown eyes. "You really are stubborn, aren't you?" he asked her.

The armored figure showed no sign of tiring, either.

After a bit more fighting, he managed to knock Wesker away briefly, and made a quick gesture. Suddenly, every last bit of heat vanished from the corridor they were fighting in, as if something had flash frozen it. The armored figure, however, wasn't affected at all. He lunged forward, grab Wesker by the throat, and slammed him to the ground, smashing completely through the floor, and most of the way through the one underneath. He stood, looking down at Wesker. "It should be clear to you now that you face an opponent at least on the same level as you."

Wekser's only reply was to toss up some kind of grenade, then move for cover.

Regardless of what the figure did, the grenade exploded, or rather imploded.



Leena smiled.

"Damn right."

Then she leaned in and kissed him again, giving him another squeeze.



Regina was focused on her work, and missed the antics, which was good because if she'd looked away she would have missed the right sequence.

"Got it! Initiating power up procedure, two minutes to vortex!"


The generator began to hum, which also alerted the other two combatants that something was up. It also told Wesker that the figure wasn't alone.

That's when he made a dash for the generator room, clearly not happy.

Unfortunately for Wesker, the second he started moving towards the control room, he got a heavy weight, and ice cleats, in the center of his back. The armored figure had also gotten away from the blast, and launched through the air at Wesker the second he'd let himself get distracted. The figure had also taken the time to launch off of Wesker's back going over his head to get in between him and the generator, once again.

Wesker growled, then came directly at the figure, pulling another grenade out to shove through the armor, if he was lucky enough.

He wasn't. The figure punched that hand with enough force to send it flying away, and likely through at least one wall. He did this while side-stepping and sending a knee straight at Wesker's gut.

Roger broke away from the kiss when the machine started making quite a large amount of a ruckus, and started looking all around the room as a loud hum filled the space around them. "What the hell!" he exclaimed, and looked to Leena, who was still rather firmly attached to him, "Come on-" he asked for her to follow, before breaking away from their embrace, and running over to where Regina was standing. "Can't you make this piece of shit a little more quiet? The whole damn facility is going to know where we are!"

"Afraid not. I was right that it's been damaged. Roger ... we'll have thirty seconds to go through the portal once it's opened. Then the generator is going to literally explode."


Wesker once more picked himself up, growling angrily, even as the entire facility began suddenly shaking around them.

For a moment the viral man himself even had some degree of difficulty remaining standing.

"FOOLS! They're going to completely destroy the device."

Again another burst of speed this time he tried cutting through one of the walls itself to get around the armored figure.




Back in the control room, sparks began to fly, one landing on Regina's arm, and she hissed as it burnt into the flesh.

"Fifteen seconds til the portal opens."



Leena looked to Roger and smiled.

"This is it, our ticket home. Time to get off this runaway train."

Roger shook his head, "Even then, it won't be over." he told her, "If Wesker already infected Brandy two hours before, then the most that would happen is..."

He put a hand to his forehead, and shut his eyes at the thought, "I'd have to watch her die again... Maybe the others to..."

Naught but a few seconds after he finished that thought, Roger turned to the portal, which was about to supposedly open for them...

After a few more moments, there was a sudden spark of energy, on a massive scale, and then a rift large enough to fit them all through tore open in front of them.

"That's it! We've got twenty seconds to get through!"


And without another word, Regina bolted for it, and Leena grabbed Roger by the hand, running with him for the gate that called to them....

As Wesker turned to tear through the wall, the armored figure struck one last time.

The man's sword pierced through viral man's spine, and tore through whatever was inside his chest, missing anything vital, before exiting through the front of his chest. The helmet and mask worn by Wesker's attacker, damaged in the attack, broken and fell off, revealing the man's features. "That's the idea, fool."

Roger was a bit hesitant to go through, the large rift in front of him intimidated him in a way, and he never really got over his dislike for the supernatural. However, this changed when he suddenly found Leena grabbing his hand, and pulling him towards the rift quickly. He didn't put up a fight, running with her as soon as she locked hands with him, heading for the gateway back to the past.

Regina, Leena and RJ suddenly found themselves near Leena's car, the sun just beginning to set. A quick look at the watch confirmed that they had indeed gone back two hours and thirty one minutes before RJ and Leena were supposed to have arrived.

Then there was a small explosion behind them that lifted them off their feet, throwing them against Leena's car.


The portal had closed violently when the generator had exploded, and the explosion had come through the portal slightly, though it had been muted dramatically.


After they picked themselves up, Leena saw a black car go by, the same on Wesker had used before. It was just coming in to Atlanta.


"RJ, he's here!"




On the other end of the portal, Wesker glared at the figure, just before both were consumed in a massive explosion that effectively destroyed their time line forever.

Roger urgently went for the driver's seat, not wanting to take the chance that Leena might not have had the experience with driving dangerously. "Hurry up!" he announced, and if Leena checked, she'd find her keys suddenly gone from her pocket, without her even knowing, and instead, in the hands of Roger. He obviously must be a very skilled thief if he managed that.

He opened all the locks on the doors, and hopped into the car, immediately putting the keys into the ignition, "I'm gonna put an end to him, before he has the chance to run away!" he announced, while constantly, and foolishly, thinking of a fight-to-be.

Leena and Regina jumped into the car, and then they took off, speeding down the road.


Regina had pulled out some kind of binoculars and was looking, and spoke quietly.

"Leena, are you sure that's the same car you saw before?"


Leena turned back and nodded.

"Completely sure, same plates and everything. Why?"



Regina hesitated a moment then spoke.

"Well, because it's a woman driving the car. Wesker isn't in it."

Roger growled, "What the hell does that mean!" he exclaimed, demanding what any of them might know about what's going on. Right about the time he finished his sentence, Roger saw the car make a turn, not in the direction of his neighborhood, but to somewhere else in the city. Roger thought for a moment, considering what he should do. The next thing Regina and Leena knew, Roger flew right past the street the car had turned on, seemingly abandoning his chase. "I don't care what that person's doing, I'm going to do what I came here to do."

He set a path in his mind, straight for Eddy's house...

Leena grabbed the binoculars from Regina, looking as they went past the car.

She turned ghost white.


"Roger ... I think that was Claudia."


They were already a good eighth of a mile away from that road by the time she'd been able to get that out, that was how fast they were moving.

Roger clenched his teeth, "So what!" he shouted, "It's too late now, and for whatever reason, she's apparently walking hand-in-hand with Wesker," he said quickly, "So it's not my problem!"

"Which means that she may have sabotaged the Warehouse. Dammit all."



Regina thought for a moment.

"She was heading in the direction of the air base. Roger, do you have a cell phone, my communicator seems to have been damaged."



Neither one seemed to be willing to tell RJ he was wrong to go for his friend, after all that had been the purpose of returning.

Roger cautiously took one hand off of the wheel, and slowed down about two dozen miles, not wanting to rely on a hurt hand to drive, and dug around in his pocket, quickly pulling out a pink, polka dotted phone in his hand, appearing as a very effeminate device, likely meant for a woman.

Without looking back, he tossed it into the back seat, "Here," he said as it flew back, onto the seating. He returned his hand to the wheel, and returned to the speed he maintained from before as well.
