Well, I give. It's been more than a month without a real update.
Want to know the reason? I can't make a goddamn sprite of a tentacle.
Yes, that's it. I got stuck in something that should have been so stupidly simple that I can't go on any further with the game, because that's one of the two enemies I still have to make before being able to release a new demo.

So... If you have any tips on how to sprite a tentacle or a snake (for what's worth either would do), I'd appreciate it.
I really hope that, if I manage to sprite the tentacle and its game over, I don't get stuck again when I try to make the slime.

For the time being I've been tampering around with RPG Maker, and after I'm done with ODK I might go that way to make a new game.

i generally move them in 2 pixel chunks, if its going in something erase 2 pixels at the end then move to contact

What type of movement would you want for your tentacle/snake that you are trying to make?

Maybe you could try to do a simple animation with the base color and fool around with the silhouette till you have a relatively fluid animation you can work with, it would probably save some trouble but its not all that hard to add detail to all the frames afterwards.

Here is a quick example:
pretty simple, it lunges and is making a S kind of shape at the tail part but there are many other things that could of been done better, I think movement would of been simulated better if the part that touches the ground moved a bit further ahead of the head part in one frame or the tail pushs back against the ground for propulsion with each lunge forward. I also could of made it slither and coil on the ground but I'd need to add at least one more color so i can show some depth kinda like this
but more snake like.

I finally managed to make the base sprites for the two remaining enemies for the demo, and I just have to animate them and their sex animations before being able to release it.

I have to say I'm really sorry about how damn long it's taken me to do this little amount of work, though.

Once the next demo is released I'll focus on the last leg of the demo-available content (the first boss) and any required fixes and balancing patches.

Well, I have good news, and bad news.

The good news is that I did work a bit more on ODK and that I'm going to center my efforts on it until I finish it and try to not get distracted anymore with my RPG Maker game that I started for that challenge thing I put up.

The bad news is that, considering how long I've taken to do so little work, I'll probably be cutting the amount of content available in the final game so I can realistically finish it sometime.

I got the armor guys, the tentacle and I think the slime too; and now my work is going to be a bunnygirl or something, and a big bad boss.

All in all, it's going to have 7 different enemies with a recolor of each one.

Got off my lazy ass and finished what will essentially be the demo. It's still somewhat rough, but I hope it'll at least be somewhat good.

Heya, I've been lurking and your post seemed depressing so I thought I'd pop in to let you know I did try it, and have been waiting to see what you do next. Always keep in mind, only a small portion of folks who play will comment. ^_^v Keep your chin up, and always try to rely more on discipline rather than motivation.

I'll be sure to download the most recent link and see if I notice anything particularly good or bad - but with that said I'm incredibly busy right now and am just brushing up on some stuff while I take a brief break.

P.S. I decided to whip up some fanart real quick in hopes of spurring you on! I'd have done more and worked out some of the kinks but I've already loli-gagged enough on this break... Seriously, my break was up 30 minutes ago and it's the only one I get for the next 7 hours... (Edit: Holy crap I took 15 more minutes than I thought!)

Edit: The spritesheet got updated later, figured I'd put up the newer version even though it's been almost two years. Heh... Converted it to a ZIP file since otherwise ULMF changes it to an ugly jpg from hell which defeats the purpose of even uploading it...

Thanks to BoredBirdy (and him helping with spritework and testing) ODK is having a good amount of progress.
It will also have CGs for sure, and 2 more enemies of what I cut it down to last time.

There's not really much else to say since there's not a proper demo to release and most of the stuff worked on is things that I can't really show.
Mostly, because fixing bugs that I accidentally create wouldn't make for a good set of pictures.

So the problem is that your killing power scales faster than the enemies' durability, is what I get from that. Is that right?
Seemed like he was saying that in general, the difficulty curve isnt spread out well. Like its way way hard in the beginning, and once you get the damage upgrades it becomes a joke. At least thats what it seemed like to me.

Yeah, I see how that might be a problem. Either you lose early or you play until bored.
That's on my list of things to start to fix when all the enemies (maybe except for the boss) are implemented into the game.

Work has been coming along nicely thanks to BoredBirdy, accidentally managed to make the demo version balanced somehow (balanced as in "you don't become super-mega-powerful" but it's instead a constant challenge... I think), and got half of the content that will be in the demo done.

Just a few iterations more and we'll hit 0.6.0, and with that, a new demo will come along.

Progress was a bit slow this week, probably something to be expected seeing as the christmas season is coming.
Still, I've been trying to look around but I've had no luck at all on finding any real way of going about how to sell the damn game bar DLSite. And I don't really like DLSite that much, either.

Between the lack of any real way to sell h-content through paypal without going around a few loopholes, and the up and coming EU law of "Find out where the buyer is AT THE TIME OF THE PURCHASE so you can pay the proper taxes", I believe I'm between a rock and a hard place.
It's not... A pleasant feeling, knowing that I'll probably have to rely on a third party or go fuck myself.

Any ideas would be appreciated, I'll try to think of something too.

So, how's it going? Progress on the game is still slow because Christmas and a full PC format. No, I did not lose any data or anything, so don't worry about that.

I thought I'd drop by and mention I ended up putting up a Patreon page ( ) because after looking around seemed the only real way to go about selling or otherwise doing the money <-> game exchange. (There's DLSite too, I guess, but that's not the point)

All was good and well until, well, the new guidelines and the rumor of everything porn maybe getting kicked out of Patreon.
Kind of a bummer having that happen just after I make the page.

If worse comes to worse, I guess I'll have to sort-of start from scratch on this whole "looking for a way to pay" thing. Maybe give this "GratiPay" place a look, though not living in the US might come back to bite me on that one.

Thanks, I read it earlier today in Crisis Point: Extinction's thread, and it's a relief it's not that much of a problem.

And about the content... There's still quite a ways to go, and the holidays don't do much to help with productivity, but for a demo there's little that has to be readied. Still not promising a date, though.
